Hunting For Cats

Hunting For Cats

Posted by F&S

Every evening, before Laura Acuna, the housekeeper, leaves for the day, she has to hunt down all of the cats and make sure they are inside for the night.  She sometimes asks us, Frenchies, to locate them, since they like to hide so much.  We’ve got to tell you, cats are so uncooperative!

Squirrel in the Styrax Tree

Squirrel in the Styrax Tree

We, Frenchies, were chasing one of our squirrels the other day and it ran up a pretty styrax tree outside of the blog studio.  I have to admit that we get carried away when it comes to squirrels and I guess we did a no-no.  Have a look.

Peonies and Rain Don't Mix

Peonies and Rain Don't Mix

The other day, between raindrops, we Frenchies picked some amazing tree peonies to decorate the house.  We thought we would go back to the border to gather some more, but there’s one big problem – it’s been raining and oh, so dreary!

Tracking Wild Animals

Tracking Wild Animals

On yesterday’s blog, I was out hunting for dogwood trees and found some in the woods.  After satisfying my dogwood urge, and since I was already in the woods, I decided to partake in some animal tracking, one of my favorite pastimes.  There are so many interesting scents to pick up and follow in the …

Martha's Motor Scooter in Bedford

Martha's Motor Scooter in Bedford

You may remember from a previous Wag from last July that Martha has a motor scooter in East Hampton.  It’s such a cute little thing and so much fun to ride.  Well, you can imagine my surprise when I found that very same scooter in the equipment barn in Bedford.

We, Frenchies, were wandering around the farm the other day, when we saw Betsy leading Ramon out to a paddock.  Something looked different about that Friesian so we went to find out what it could be.

Searching for Beauty in the Woods

Searching for Beauty in the Woods

Sharkey and I were driving around in the Kawasaki recently in search of some beauty in the woods.  Sharkey was uncertain which road to take so we stopped and asked for directions and we finally found what we were looking for.

Shedding Our Winter Coats

Shedding Our Winter Coats

Sharkey and I were outside the other day, when she suddenly realized that Sasa, the horse, was no longer wearing his warm winter coat.  That caused her to go into a silly tirade about how we are no longer wearing our fashionable cold weather wardrobe and she was actually lamenting that fact!  Honestly, Sharkey can …

Our Latest Visit to the Stable

Our Latest Visit to the Stable

There seemed like a lot of action at the stables the other day, so Francesca, Sharkey, and I went to check it out.  Linda, the farrier, was there and it’s always great to see her.  Betsy was also getting ready to take Ramon out for a ride.  And it seemed that Ramon had a few …

Sharkey Tries to Befriend the Sheep

Sharkey Tries to Befriend the Sheep

Posted by Ghenghis Khan

You probably know from reading this blog that the Frenchies, especially Sharkey, like to bark at the donkeys, Clive, Rufus, and Billie.  Where the donkeys just laugh and let the idle threat roll away, other members of the farm menagerie take matters more seriously.  For example, the two Black Welsh Mountain sheep don’t know what …
