Watching a movie

Watching a movie

Posted by Francesca

You may have heard Martha talking about how we, Frenchies, love watching movies.  Most of the time, we curl up in her bed and watch what she has on.  However, the other day, we were in our blog studio and opened a package that came in the mail.  At first, we thought it was a …

We want to be Rockettes!

We want to be Rockettes!

The last time we went to Martha’s television studio, we met some of the Rockettes, those famous dancers from Radio City Music Hall.  They made an appearance on the show.  Sharkey and I met them backstage and they were all so lovely and friendly.  Of course, being adventurous Frenchies, our imaginations went a little crazy.

Helping the guys

Helping the guys

If you’ve been reading Martha’s blog, then you know that the ground’s crew has been very busy burlapping practically everything in sight.
We, Frenchies, went to supervise their progress and we felt a little sorry for the guys, so we decided to chip in. We found out that sewing is really fun, so next step …

We found a fuzzy little thing

We found a fuzzy little thing

You know how curious Francesca and I are about all things. Recently, we found ourselves pondering a little creature called a woolly bear caterpillar. We heard somewhere that these fuzzy things can actually predict the weather. Imagine that! Maybe they can find employment with the Weather Channel!

A visit to Yale University

Last Saturday, we piled in the car and Carlos drove us to New Haven, Connecticut, the home of Yale University.  Martha wanted to go to the Yale University Art Gallery to see a very special exhibit called ‘Mary Delany and her Circle.’  Mary Delany was an 18th Century Englishwoman who made extraordinary botanical collages out …

What is that noise coming from the stable?

Yesterday, Franny and I were outside playing when we heard a lot of banging noises coming from the stables.  It’s always a good idea to check these things out, so we trotted on down there.  You know how curious we are.

The First Snow

The First Snow

Last Saturday night, we had our very first snowfall of the season.  It wasn’t very much snow, but it was quite pretty.  A thin blanket covered the farm and Francesca and I headed out for a little winter adventure.  We’ll be sure to show you more snow pictures the next time it falls.

Behind the scenes of a TV shoot

Thursday was really busy at the farm.  Martha was home that day, but instead of relaxing, she was hard at work, as usual.  There were photo shoots going on for the magazine and the TV crew was there for some gardening segments.  Here are some photos from behind the scenes of the television shoot with …

Let sleeping cats lie

Do you remember hearing about the new calico Persian kittens that came to live with us?  Sharkey and I don’t get to see them too often, as they still like to hide.
However, the other day, we finally came across the one called Empress Tang and thought that maybe we could play together.
No way that was …

An amazing cookie

An amazing cookie

Wandering around the house the other day, I happened upon a most amazing cookie.  I called Francesca over to have a look.  It was so finely decorated and it reminded us of a photo we once posed for.  Apparently, someone copied that very same photo in icing!  Very awesome indeed!
