Well, it’s that time of year again when so much of the farm gets covered up with burlap for protection from the harsh elements of winter.  The crew has been busy pounding in stakes and tying them together and we Frenchies always like to chip in and help with so many projects.

Today on Martha’s blog, there are photos of Gyurme and Ryan planting bulbs in the terrace garden.  This is only partly true.  While the guys were taking one of their extra-long coffee breaks, we Frenchies did most of the work.

On yesterday’s blog, we showed you one of the mighty trees that fell at the farm during Hurricane Sandy.  As we continued our drive, we came upon so much more damage.  One area really took a  beating and after seeing it, we decided to stop looking.  It’s heartbreaking to see so much destruction.

No one can deny that strange things are going on with the weather.  Who would ever dream that a major hurricane would slam the northeast?  People and animals barely caught their breath before being dumped on by a ton of snow.  What next?
