Are There Vegetables Growing in the Garden?

The March issue of Martha’s magazine, Living, arrived and I was struck by the beauty of the cover.  If you haven’t seen it, it’s a bountiful harvest of freshly picked vegetables.  I really love the garden and seeing that photo got me really thinking about our amazing vegetable garden here at the farm.

On Martha’s blog today, she talks about a recent trip we all took to the Catskill Mountains in New York State.  As usual, Martha tells her story and we, dogs, get to tell ours.  Have a look!

Uncle Carlos took Francesca to visit the French bulldog breeder in Maryland, who wanted to talk to Franny about why Frenchies shouldn’t head-butt their owners, or anyone else, for that matter.  It was lonely while she was gone, so Martha suggested that G.K. and I visit the TV studio.  As you will see from these …

As many of you know, Martha is a very charitable person, and recently, she donated a lunch with her and a tour of her offices for an auction event to help raise money for breast cancer.  The winner of that prize was Eliza Gray, a lovely thirteen-year-old Martha fan.  I think that Eliza is also …

The Art of Extracting Honey

The Art of Extracting Honey

Well, we finally got around to extracting the honey from the beehives.  Carlos seemed to bee a bit frazzled, so I offered to be of assistance.  The whole process is rather time consuming.  The honey tastes really, really good – very herbal and light.  Thank you honeybees for providing again.

Visiting Sasa After a Snowstorm

Visiting Sasa After a Snowstorm

A few days ago, after our last snowstorm, Martha wanted to drive around the farm and take photos for her blog.  Since we had the power of the Kawasaki and its excellent four-wheel drive, I asked Martha to take me to visit Sasa, the new Friesian on the farm.  He’s a really great guy and …

Looking for Beauty on a Dismal Day

Looking for Beauty on a Dismal Day

As you may have heard, we’ve had quite a bit of snow here at the farm.  Yesterday, however, was quite a different story because it was raining all day on top of all that snow, making it just pain dismal.  Good thing we Frenchies, don’t need an excuse to curl up and take a nap.  …
