On Martha’s blog today, she posted a lot of beautiful photos of planting the giant urns on the Skylands terrace.  When the work was complete, Uncle Carlos suggested a drive to Bar Harbor so that Ryan could see some of the local flavor.  It’s always a fun town to visit.

As you know from reading this blog, we dogs were recently at Skylands, our home in Maine.  We were so busy and had such a great time.  Chef Pierre cooked amazing food all weekend, including a lobster dinner.

Yesterday, we blogged about driving to Maine with Uncle Carlos and a trailer load of plants.  We dogs had a great time in the car, listening to Carlos’s favorite music, Los Melodicos, and the hours seemed to fly by.  After stretching a bit and tending to some doggy business, we had to unload the trailer …

Last Friday, Uncle Carlos was driving a load of plants up to Skylands, our home in Maine.  We absolutely love being with him and asked Martha if we could travel with him, instead of traveling with her.  She didn’t seem to mind.

We, Frenchies, were chasing one of our squirrels the other day and it ran up a pretty styrax tree outside of the blog studio.  I have to admit that we get carried away when it comes to squirrels and I guess we did a no-no.  Have a look.

On a recent jaunt around the farm, Sharkey and I noticed many empty spaces along the stone paths where succulent plants once grew.  Granted, some of these paths are new, and need to be landscaped.  But, for the established paths, it’s far better to have succulents growing than weeds.

The other day, between raindrops, we Frenchies picked some amazing tree peonies to decorate the house.  We thought we would go back to the border to gather some more, but there’s one big problem – it’s been raining and oh, so dreary!

As Martha wrote on her blog today, we’ve been getting much too much rain and we, dogs, couldn’t get outside too much to explore.  Many things are blooming, or beginning to bloom in the garden, including all the allium, and we finally got to enjoy their beauty.

I was in the mood to bake a soufflé and I asked Thomas Joseph from the TV kitchen if he would be willing to come to Bedford and give me a hand.  A soufflé is a combination of custard and beaten egg whites and when it comes out of the oven, it should be puffed …

I hadn’t been to the blog studio in a while so I decided to go inside.  I was kind of surprised to see that Francesca and Sharkey use the space as an art museum all about them.  Well, that’s something that’s definitely got to change!
