An Eye-Opening Experience for Francesca!

Well, it’s been quite a long ordeal, but I finally had that blasted button removed and my eye is now wide open and all healed.  I was taken to the veterinarian last Friday, but a small and unexpected problem was encountered.  I just hope I never get another corneal ulcer!

On Wednesday’s Daily Wag, the Frenchies explained about some of the ways that we dogs manage to stay cool during hot weather.  I, G.K., decided to leave the coolness of the kitchen’s marble floor and venture outdoors to see what I could see.

When I was outside the other morning, I came upon a large bag of greens just sitting on a wall.  I thought that maybe Chef Pierre had forgotten about the food he picked in the vegetable garden for Martha’a dinner party when I realized that the bag contained scraps for the chickens.  Francesca, G.K., and …

Yes, Sharkey and I are still recovering and G.K. is feeling so much better from the Lyme disease.  Sharkey’s dewclaw was healing nicely, but she went ahead and snagged another nail, which needed to be bandaged, as well.  Cone collar for her again!  Many of you commented why I was wearing a leash and the …

On Wednesday, before Dr. Pia’s wonderful tribute to mothers yesterday, we Frenchies began telling you about our outing with Uncle Carlos.  We first stopped at the veterinarian to pick up some new medications. Thank you everyone for your concern about Francesca and Sharkey.  It’s been rough around here lately.  Even I, Ghenghis Khan, was caught limping around and when my blood was tested at the vet, it was discovered that I, too, have Lyme disease!  Bloody ticks!  So now we’re all taking medicine for one thing or another.

Before I hurt my dewclaw and needed surgery, Francesca and I were making our usual rounds of the farm, looking for anything new and different.  It was difficult for Franny because she had classic tunnel vision due to wearing the cone-shaped color, so I guided her around.  It’s good to help each other out.

You may know that sitting on the stone wall overlooking the farm is one of our favorite vantage points.  The view is great and it’s fun watching the world go by.  We, Frenchies, were out there basking the other day when we discovered that our stone wall was getting a beautification treatment.

After an exciting time of touring around Newport, Rhode Island, we dogs finally made it to the place where Martha was visiting.  It’s where our friend, Lilly, lives – a lovely and grand house with a sprawling green lawn overlooking the beautiful ocean.
