A Good Use For Hay

A Good Use For Hay

Posted by F&S

Winter is marching towards us and there are many projects going on around the farm, getting things ready for the harsh weather ahead.  We Frenchies heard some talk among the farm crew about a shipment of hay bales and some sort of wind barrier.  Of course, we had to get to the bottom of it!

We Frenchies were patrolling the farm the other day when we came upon Arborists working in the woods.  Watching them prune trees damaged by Hurricane Sandy reminded us that there was another huge project taking place elsewhere on the farm.

Whenever Martha entertains, she likes to fill the house with beautiful potted houseplants.  There are many fine choices that Ryan cares for in the greenhouse.  It’s his job to move them from the greenhouse into the main house and back again.  We Frenchies, of course, like to be involved.

Well, a cold front blew through the other day and it really feels like winter now!  We Frenchies donned our warm winter coats before venturing outdoors to see how the guys were progressing with all of their chores.  We found Fernando and Wilmer working away in the shade garden.

We Frenchies came across some awesome donkey sayings and, of course, we just had to share them with our donk friends, Clive, Rufus, and Billie.  We thought they were pretty funny, but we might have touched a nerve or two.

We Frenchies put on some warm coats and went outdoors to play and explore.  We noticed that the bamboo framework for all of the bamboo covers for boxwood and other shrubs was in the process of being constructed.  What a job!
