Meet Sharkey

I was born on February 18, 2005, in Trappe, Maryland. While my personality is laidback and easygoing, I’m always ready for a good adventure. If I see something I need to chase, like a squirrel, for example, I’m out the door and across the field without hesitation. I also really love to intimidate the donkeys even though a kick from them would probably really hurt. Francesca complains that I’m much too spontaneous and daring, but I just really like to have fun. I think Franny believes that I’m just not as smart as she is, but she is a bit of a snob.

Stormy Skies in Bedford

Stormy Skies in Bedford

It was all over the local news yesterday morning that severe thunderstorms were moving through the area.  Where I don’t mind the rain so much, I have to admit that thunderstorms scare me.  Looking out the door, I noticed that it was getting really dark and Francesca and I took a peek from the covered …

The other day, I told you about how G.K. and I had to stay in the six-car garage apartment with Uncle Carlos up at Skylands.  Where I didn’t mind it all that much, it is a little hard getting used to that place when you are accustomed to staying in the splendor of the main …

Picking Francesca up in Maryland

At long last!  It was time to bring Francesca back home.  As you all know by now, Franny wasn’t feeling well and she went to see the Frenchie specialist in Maryland.  After it was discovered that she had Lyme disease, the breeder wanted Franny to recuperate from that dreaded ailment with her.  Martha agreed and …

I have to admit that when I read Francesca’s blogposting from Maryland, I got a little envious.  She and her Frenchie hosts, CaraMia and AislinCate, are running around outside without sweaters or coats.  Maryland looks kind of warm compared to the farm in Bedford.  I decided to put on my warm coat and head outdoors …

Martha asked Carlos to take a load of stuff up to Skylands, our home in Maine.  Being excellent travelling companions, he, of course, took us along for the ride.  G.K., our wonder dog, actually thought that he was going to do the driving!  Silly, G.K.

The March issue of Martha’s magazine, Living, arrived and I was struck by the beauty of the cover.  If you haven’t seen it, it’s a bountiful harvest of freshly picked vegetables.  I really love the garden and seeing that photo got me really thinking about our amazing vegetable garden here at the farm.

Update From Francesca:  For all of those who have expressed concern about me, please know that I am visiting my wonderful breeder, who found out that I have traces of Lyme disease.  She is taking very good care of me and, along with her vet, is figuring out the right medication that will make me …
