Meet Sharkey

I was born on February 18, 2005, in Trappe, Maryland. While my personality is laidback and easygoing, I’m always ready for a good adventure. If I see something I need to chase, like a squirrel, for example, I’m out the door and across the field without hesitation. I also really love to intimidate the donkeys even though a kick from them would probably really hurt. Francesca complains that I’m much too spontaneous and daring, but I just really like to have fun. I think Franny believes that I’m just not as smart as she is, but she is a bit of a snob.

Dealing Out The Dog Pack Oracle Cards

Dealing Out The Dog Pack Oracle Cards

Posted by Sharkey

It’s been raining a lot lately and Francesca and I are scrambling to find indoor activities to keep us busy.  Looking around the house, I came upon an unusual deck of cards called, “The Dog Pack Oracle Cards.”  Apparently, you use them much the same way as Tarot cards.  Going through the deck, we discovered …

Relief for Sharkey's Bee Stings

You probably all know by now that Martha keeps honeybees and Franny and I are on pretty good terms with those little creatures.  If you respect honeybees and let them go about their business, they won’t bother you.  Well, I had an unfortunate experience the other day, with what I thought were honeybees, and now …

Horseback Riding With Martha

Hey, everybody!  I’m back and feeling fine.  I just had a nasty bug bite, which is better now.  Yikes!  I hope everyone is staying calm and cool.  This heat is terrible!  Well, I was lounging around the other day, wondering what I could do for amusement, and then Martha and Betsy came riding by on …

Commotion in a Smoke Tree

Yesterday, Francesca and I were sitting on a stonewall when I noticed some commotion in a nearby smoke tree.  Francesca seemed to know just what it was and gave me quite a lesson on the subject.

Hunting For Wild Mushrooms in Maine

When we were last in Maine, I took these photos, but misplaced my camera.  Good thing that Martha found it and packed it with her things to take back to Bedford.  So, here’s another blog from Maine – better late than never!

Sharkey Bakes a Soufflé

Sharkey Bakes a Soufflé

I was in the mood to bake a soufflé and I asked Thomas Joseph from the TV kitchen if he would be willing to come to Bedford and give me a hand.  A soufflé is a combination of custard and beaten egg whites and when it comes out of the oven, it should be puffed …

Martha's Motor Scooter in Bedford

Martha's Motor Scooter in Bedford

Posted by Sharkey

You may remember from a previous Wag from last July that Martha has a motor scooter in East Hampton.  It’s such a cute little thing and so much fun to ride.  Well, you can imagine my surprise when I found that very same scooter in the equipment barn in Bedford.

Cleaning Martha's Desk

Cleaning Martha's Desk

Well, yesterday we blogged about smashing the giant chocolate bunny and if that wasn’t enough, I was given another task of cleaning and organizing Martha’s desk.  Martha’s desk is right in the kitchen and since that’s where we, Frenchies, hang out, I didn’t really mind too much.  After all, we’re the ones who have to …

New Evidence of a Rodent

Franny and I were in our blog studio, editing some recent photos, when I got up to stretch and look outside.  I was very interested to notice that after we entered the studio, something had made some changes to the door stoop outside.  This is a farm, after all, and there are critters galore!

On Martha’s blog today, she explains how we got a new delivery of baby chicks.  They were brought to the farm by Traci Torres, of My Pet Chicken.  Traci’s business provides everything you need to keep backyard chickens, including baby chicks, chicken coops, accessories, and books.  Along with the adorable little chicks, Traci also brought …
