Meet Sharkey

I was born on February 18, 2005, in Trappe, Maryland. While my personality is laidback and easygoing, I’m always ready for a good adventure. If I see something I need to chase, like a squirrel, for example, I’m out the door and across the field without hesitation. I also really love to intimidate the donkeys even though a kick from them would probably really hurt. Francesca complains that I’m much too spontaneous and daring, but I just really like to have fun. I think Franny believes that I’m just not as smart as she is, but she is a bit of a snob.

Visiting one of Martha's favorite local markets

Visiting one of Martha's favorite local markets

Posted by Sharkey

We went to so many great stores on our tour of Katonah, but no visit would be complete without seeing one of Martha’s favorite markets, Sgaglio’s.  They sell high-quality meats, poultry, fish, local produce, prepared foods, and imported products.  Plus, we like seeing all the nice people who work there.  We hope that Jessica comes …

Yesterday, we blogged about showing Jessica, Martha’s new executive assistant, the hamlet of Katonah.  It was quite a little tour we gave and thought you’d enjoy seeing Part Two.  We Frenchies enjoy being tour guides and we certainly like Katonah and all the nice people there.

Francesca and I live in a house that now has five cats.  I know – we haven’t shown you any pictures of the new calico Persian kittens yet.  Truth be told, we haven’t seen much of them ourselves.  In fact, we find that cats are just so darn aloof.  Why don’t they ever want to …

Franny had an appointment yesterday and I found myself all alone.  Instead of moping around, waiting for her to get back, I took advantage of the situation and went out to explore something I had seen on the farm.

The season five premiere of MARTHA

The season five premiere of MARTHA

Last Monday was so exciting because we made our big appearance on the first day of the fifth season of Martha’s TV show. But, we’re wondering why they keep calling the show MARTHA, when it really should be called MARTHA with Francesca and Sharkey. Perhaps it’s time for a new negotiation.

Our squirrel-chasing friend, Baker

Meet Baker, Baker was adopted by Sarah Rutledge Gorman who is the Managing Editor, special projects group for MSLO. Sarah adopted Baker from the New Fairfield/Sherman Animal Welfare Society in New Fairfield, CT. He is a 1-year-old mixed breed. We wonder if his name implies that he would be helpful in Martha’s kitchen …

In memory of our adopted friend Talula

As part of our pledge to help animals in need, we want to use our star power to bring attention to the fact that many employees of Martha’s company have helped out our kind (and even cats) by taking in animals in need. We thought it would be great to tell you some of their …

The Dog Days of Summer

The Dog Days of Summer

Posted by Sharkey

Everyone has been talking about the dog days of summer and I was wondering why they were called that. I did a little research and found that the ancient Romans thought that Sirius, the Dog Star in the constellation, Canis Major, and also the brightest star in the night sky, was the cause of …

This past weekend, Martha took us back to Skylands, in Maine.  Because of the approaching Hurricane Bill, the weather was a bit rough for a couple of days.  However, that never stops us from going out and exploring nature and we had a great time at the Seal Harbor beach.

When we were traveling with Martha on the North Fork of Long Island, we stopped at one of her favorite plant growers, Beds & Borders. We Frenchies always like to say hello to the crew there and while we were visiting, something was slinking around. We, of course, charged over to have a …
