Meet Sharkey

I was born on February 18, 2005, in Trappe, Maryland. While my personality is laidback and easygoing, I’m always ready for a good adventure. If I see something I need to chase, like a squirrel, for example, I’m out the door and across the field without hesitation. I also really love to intimidate the donkeys even though a kick from them would probably really hurt. Francesca complains that I’m much too spontaneous and daring, but I just really like to have fun. I think Franny believes that I’m just not as smart as she is, but she is a bit of a snob.

Yesterday, Franny kind of kept you hanging about what we, Frenchies, would find next on our little adventure around the farm after the blizzard.  She ended the blog as we were headed towards the stable to visit our friends there.  Let me just say that after a heavy snow, you just can’t be too careful …

I’ve been scrolling back over all of the blogs that Franny and I posted this past year and I have to admit that life is just never dull for us Frenchies.  So much happens around the farm and we also blog about our adventures away from home.  Once again, Franny and I would like to …

I was walking through the house the other day when I happened upon Empress Tang and Princess Peony.  I swear, those two cats think they are so wonderful and over the top.  But what they really are is so annoying!

I wanted to see what was going on around the house with all of Martha’s holiday décor.  Laura Acuna has been really busy decorating so I decided to take a little stroll around.  Franny and I will definitely blog about all of that festive stuff, but in the meantime, I wanted to share this little …

Examining the Beehives

Examining the Beehives

We were wandering around the farm the other day, noticing all of the changes going on in preparation for winter.  We don’t usually wander too close to the beehives because when the honeybees are really active, we don’t want to get in their way, if you know what I mean.  But, in cold weather, things …

A Revelation at the Chicken Coops

A Revelation at the Chicken Coops

Driving around in the Kawaski the other day, Franny and I stopped by the chicken coops and sadly reminisced about our poor friends, the turkeys.  Franny nearly lost it when she heard a gobble-gobble, but I kept my head and made a rather pleasant discovery.

You may recall a recent blog where Franny and I found some flower bulbs in the equipment barn and got busy planting a garden.  Well, last week, we discovered an entire film and a camera crew and some Dutch bulb experts working with Martha planting all those bulbs at the allee of lindens.  It was …

Do you remember the other day when Franny and I were being accused of making Vivaldi allergic?  We were actually being blamed for leaving our dog hair on the carpets that we rarely walk upon.  I just had to get to the bottom of this and decided to do a little detective work.
