Meet Francesca

I entered this world on December 13, 2004, in Pinewood, Minnesota. I’m a bit older and certainly far wiser than Sharkey. Like Sharkey, I’m also friendly and quite curious, but I’m more cautious about letting my curiosity get me into trouble. I must admit that we do have fun together. I just know when to stop. Martha describes me as being a bit obsequious, but that’s just my ability to pull the wool over her eyes. I’m just clever! I do have a high opinion about myself, and my fashion sense is magnifique! In fact, Je suis fabuleuse (I am fabulous.)

A fun game of Scrabble

Posted by Francesca

On a recent rainy day, Sharkey and I were sitting around the house wondering what to do. We felt we needed a little brain stimulation so we went to the cupboard where Martha keeps one of her favorite games – Scrabble. She always talks about how fun it is to play, so we …

Euphoria in the garden

Posted by Francesca

Sharkey and I witnessed some strange behavior in the garden yesterday causing me to do a little research about the plant called Nepeta cataria, or catmint and catnip. Martha likes how it looks growing along a border because it is pretty with its whorls of lavender or white flowers, which the honeybees are attracted …

Workin' At The Car Wash

We were told that Uncle Carlos was coming to visit us and we wanted to give him a little surprise. One of the things he does is to wash the cars. We decided that we would wash the Kawasaki so that he would have more time to spend with us. It was …

Recuperation and Hitting the Books

Posted by Francesca

Sharkey told you yesterday that our veterinarian, Dr. Marty, told me that I had to rest because I have lyme disease. What fun is that? To help pass the time, I hit the books and did a little research about my breed in French Bulldog A Comprehensive Guide To Owning and Caring For …

A Train Ride To Montauk

Posted by Francesca

Yesterday we told you about our wet walk around East Hampton with Carlos and how we were waiting at the train station for the train to pull in.  We assumed that we were there to meet one of the passengers and we were very surprised when Carlos told us that we, Kids, were going for …

The Swans of East Hampton

Posted by Francesca

Earlier in the spring, we were walking in East Hampton, NY and came upon a swan sitting on her nest at the Town Pond.  This beautiful pond was once a watering place for the cattle of the area.  But today, the swans pretty much run the show here.  We were cautioned to keep our distance, …

Someone is playing a trick on us!

Posted by Francesca

You know that we Frenchies really like a good chase, but something caught our attention the other day and we just couldn’t figure it out. Take a look at these photos and for all you dogs out there who have cat cousins – cats may seem aloof, but you’ve got to remember how cunning …

Raining Cats and Frenchies

Posted by Francesca

I don’t know what the weather is like where you live, but it’s been incredibly rainy around our home. It just doesn’t seem to end. I can tell you one thing – Sharkey and I are feeling really housebound. Quand va-t-il arrêter de pleuvoir? (When will it stop raining?)

Exploring Skylands

Posted by Francesca

Skylands is such a beautiful place to explore and we’d like to show you one of our favorite places way up on a hill. The ground is carpeted with moss and the path is covered with soft pine needles. We slipped out the door and went on a little adventure. Take a …

Our little escape at Jordan Pond

Today on Martha’s blog, she has posted photos of the hike we all went on around Jordan Pond in the Acadia National Forest in Maine. It’s really a lovely spot to go hiking and Sharkey and I love the trail. When Martha and company stopped for a little rest, she took off our …
