Meet Francesca

I entered this world on December 13, 2004, in Pinewood, Minnesota. I’m a bit older and certainly far wiser than Sharkey. Like Sharkey, I’m also friendly and quite curious, but I’m more cautious about letting my curiosity get me into trouble. I must admit that we do have fun together. I just know when to stop. Martha describes me as being a bit obsequious, but that’s just my ability to pull the wool over her eyes. I’m just clever! I do have a high opinion about myself, and my fashion sense is magnifique! In fact, Je suis fabuleuse (I am fabulous.)

Meet our friends Tressa and Sky

Posted by Francesca

As part of OUR pledge to help dogs in need, we want to use our star power to bring attention to the fact that many employees of Martha’s company have helped out our kind (and even cats) by taking in animals in need. We thought it would be great to tell you some of their …

Francesca gets fooled

Posted by Francesca

I couldn’t find Sharkey the other day and I was getting a little concerned.  I thought I found her, but something wasn’t quite right.  Then things got a little crazy.  Take a look at this!

Meet our adopted friend Luna

Posted by Francesca

We know a little bit about getting our paws dirty and now we are asking you to do the same. Although you don’t really have to get dirty…you just have to pledge to help out at a local animal shelter or help create awareness of shelter pets. When you do, Purina ONE will make a …

We found the garlic and onions!

Posted by Francesca

The other day, Martha and Shaun, the gardener, were discussing the fact that the onions and garlic needed to be harvested. Shaun had planted many, many varieties of onions last spring and there was plenty of garlic planted last autumn. Sharkey and I heard them talking about how you must cure the crop …

An afternoon of dogs, dogs, and more dogs!

Being part of Martha’s road trip was so much fun for Sharkey and me and as much as we like car rides, it was great to finally get to Skylands and stretch our legs. One day while we were there, Martha took us to a field with a big tent. Beneath it there …

Hydrangea Blooms

Posted by Francesca

Did you know that you can change the color of hydrangea blooms? Martha tells us that it has to do with soil pH, or how acidic or alkaline the soil is. If the soil is acidic, the blossoms will be blue. In alkaline soil, the flowers will be pink. Walking through …

Feeding our friends, the donkeys

Posted by Francesca

Martha asked us to do a chore at the farm the other day. She told us to feed Clive, Rufus, and Billie some nice apples and carrots.
I don’t mind doing chores, but it would be nice if Sharkey did some of the work, as well. It seems that she always manages to shirk responsibility.

Going for a motor scooter ride!

Posted by Francesca

Last week in East Hampton, Uncle Carlos decided that Sharkey and I should have a little adventure on Martha’s motor scooter. You know how much we Frenchies like our wheels and what isn’t fun about cruising on a motor scooter? There’s so much freedom in the open air.

Francescas First Swim

Posted by Francesca

On Martha’s blog today, she has written that she served a beautiful lunch to Mary Tedesco and her family at the poolside in East Hampton. After lunch, Mary’s daughter, Sienna, wanted to go for a swim. Sienna is a very sweet girl and she asked if Sharkey and I would like to join …

Dinner Party Etiquette

Posted by Francesca

Martha really enjoys having dinner parties and Sharkey and I asked if it would be all right if we could sit at the formal table and take part in the festivities. Of course we reviewed all the rules of etiquette, as Martha likes us to be very polite. I think you can see …
