Meet Francesca

I entered this world on December 13, 2004, in Pinewood, Minnesota. I’m a bit older and certainly far wiser than Sharkey. Like Sharkey, I’m also friendly and quite curious, but I’m more cautious about letting my curiosity get me into trouble. I must admit that we do have fun together. I just know when to stop. Martha describes me as being a bit obsequious, but that’s just my ability to pull the wool over her eyes. I’m just clever! I do have a high opinion about myself, and my fashion sense is magnifique! In fact, Je suis fabuleuse (I am fabulous.)

Sharkey, G.K., and I were cast to star in our very own webisodes.  We can’t tell you too much about them, but we were chauffeured into New York City to the Starrett Lehigh building, where this all happened.  I have to say that being a celebrity has its perks, but, like Martha says, it is …

Verdi Gets a Beauty Treatment

Sharkey and I saw Sanu, one of the housekeepers, grabbing Verdi, the cat, and taking him down into the laundry room.  We decided to follow and see what was going on.  We wondered if it was the dreaded bath time.  We almost felt sorry for the fluffy feline.  However, he was only down there for …

Pulling Weeds with the Crew

The other morning when we woke up, a gentle rain was falling.  I was getting a little stir crazy and told Sharkey to find our rain slickers so that we could go outdoors.  We trotted down to where the lilies grow and we found the crew wearing rain slickers, too.  They were busy weeding and …

Empress Tang came to see us in the kitchen the other day and she started snooping around.  You know how cats like tight little spaces?  Well, Tang certainly found one.  Sharkey and I are always looking for photo ops, so we grabbed the camera and took these shots.

Martha has a very interesting collection of antique glass jars up high on a shelf in the kitchen.  They are filled with all sorts of things that are interesting to look at, to cook with, and to smell.  The other day, Laura and Sanu, the housekeepers, were dusting those jars and the shelf.  Of course, …

Sharkey and I were very surprised the other day when we found so much food in the kitchen.  There were bowls of this and trays of that and we could not imagine what it was all to be used for.  Much to our surprise, little G.K., who is not so little anymore, informed us that …

With the arrival of spring, there are so many chores to do around the farm.  You probably know by now that Martha likes to blanket the farm with burlap to protect things from the wind and cold.  Sharkey and I like to help out by removing the burlap from the boxwood hedges.  Come and see …

I’m always looking for new things to read and I was so happy the other day to find the latest issue of Martha Stewart Living – April 2010.  It’s filled with great Easter ideas and lots of other ‘Good Things.’  Going through the pages, I also came upon a new column called ‘Your Pets.’  I …

Some Signs of Spring

Some Signs of Spring

Sharkey and I put our yellow coats on the other day and went outside to explore.  We’ve been noticing how the days seem to be getting longer and that can only mean that spring is on its way.  We trotted around the farm to see if we could find evidence of this and we weren’t …

Who Scratched the Floor?

Who Scratched the Floor?

Martha’s housekeepers work hard to keep the house looking beautiful.  Let me tell you that with so many pets, their jobs can’t be easy.  Just the other day, I found Maria working on a section of the wood floor.  There were so many scratches and I just couldn’t understand what, or who, made them until …
