Posted by Francesca

You may recall a Daily Wag posting last June when HealthyPet Magazine came to the farm for a photo shoot.  Well, the Winter issue is out and we Frenchies thought we give you a little peek.

Oh my gosh, Sharkey! I'm on the cover of Healthy Pet Magazine sitting on Martha's lap! I remember that day many months ago when they came and took that picture.

Let's take the magazine someplace comfortable and have a good look at the article.

Well, here's a nice shot with you and GK, as well.

It says that

5 It says that "Martha Stewart's path to living the good long life includes a plethora of pets – from her Himalayan cats and French Bulldogs to her singing red Canaries and horses and the Chow Chow."

Here are some really nice photos from the past.

Do you remember when the cats had a birthday party? And there's Martha holding Teeny or Weeny - I never met them. And just look at all those Chows!

Wow! Seeing all the pets laid out in photos, like this, is amazing! We really have quite a large family when you think about it and Martha takes such good care of us all.

  • TELL ME - WHAT DAY IS IT..............that's right it's HUMP DAY!! Good Morning F & S

WOW - Healthy Pet Magazine I'm impressed. Would you be so kind as to send me a copy with your foot prints stamped on the cover please. That would be a nice Valentine's present :)

Can you believe this weather!! Now I have ice pellets shooting down at me while I'm trying to do a poo - what the hell!! And to make today even worse I saw the luggage come out which only means Super Nanny is coming :(

I can't take much more I'm going back to bed.

    Zoe

  • Good morning everyone,
Yes Zoe, Hump Day. Only today is more likesnow, sleet freezing rain stay in the house day. Hehehehehe
Wow, that is a nest article with a lot of Martha's pets featured as well. I was particularly interested in the one photo which shows Martha sitting down with 4 chows. Karen was there when that picture was taken. Karen had Journey and Ta Tu there for a photo shoot. The chow sitting to the left of Martha is Ta Tu. he is Paw Paw's son. On the other side laying down is Journey. She was a big winner during her show career. The red chow on the floor is Paw Paw and the black one was Martha's but Karen can't remember the name of that one. She said it is right on the tip of her tongue. Maybe if she uses glue remover it will come off of her tongue. Anyway, that was taken in her studio that she owned in Connecticut. Martha and Karen both owned Ta Tu. Sadly he perished in the fire/explosion. Now Karen is going to see if she can get this magazine. She is so excited she is booting me off the computer. Darn.
    Later gang,
    Maddox

  • Aw, what a special treat to be on the cover of a magazine!

I agree, Martha takes excellent care of her critter caravan!

Maybe there are future magazine gigs for F&S! :)

Snow is here in NH.... Time to hunker down and think about Spring!

  • Hi F,S,&GK+ Glue squad, Mom and I can't thank you enough for sharing that beautiful magazine with your awesome photos and the photos of Martha and her chows, etc.! We sure would love to have that magazine and we wonder where it will be available! Mom is going to copy these blog photos because she is a huge dog lover and she loves being around dogs all the time! How is your weather today! Bet you are getting more snow and hope you stay warm and safe in Martha's home! It's 26 here this morning and could be colder tomorrow! Nice to hear from Zoe, Maddox and Gail this morning and hope all three of you stay warm, also! Will check on the rest of you buddies later and hope you stay warm and safe, also! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Morning Girls & Glue Squad Buddies-What a nice way to start the morning, seeing you on the magazine cover and other pictures of everyone as well. Maybe Mom will look for this edition so I can look at it closer. Well, what's up with another snowstorm on Wednesday, seems the last two storms were on Wednesdays as well. Weekend temps were in the 50's, now snow 1-2" an hour. Think Dad will be bringing out the snowblower for sure on this one. I like making snow paws and running in it, but it sure limits me on my walks and staying outside for too long. Maddox, I think with our keen noses, we should hunt down Phil, what do you think? Zoe, don't worry, your Mom will have plenty stories to tell you when she comes back home. Ruby, how's things? Martha, hope you had fun on your birthday. Dudley Do Right, Chloe, Sophie & Mr. Mayer, a little but little late, but congrats on your win. Dixie Boy & George, hope you haven't gotten into any trouble. Chewy, have you heard from Ivan & Ivanka lately? Kitty, hope your Mom is feeling better. Rebel, still helping Mimi with cutting wood? Abby & James Dean, what's new? Kirby Bear, hope your eye feels better with the drops. Brutus & Max, what have you been up to lately? Better rest, I may have to help later with the snow removal.

    Till next time,
    Missy Chow
    xoxo

  • Hello Girls & all my Glue Squad Buddies,
Yep, Zoe, thank God you are up and on the ball, Happy Hump Day all. And Zoe, don't you remember part of the reason for the luggage? Our parents get to meet during your parents' layover Saturday night. Sadly, you and I are out of the picture, but we can be on the computer to each other while they are together. Lots of opportunity for t.p. time too. Photos will be running wild for all the Glue Squad to see.

Now, for this wonderful magazine that I must get my paws on. But I agree with Zoe here too. All of us need to receive special paw autographed copies of the magazine. I hear The Daily Wag is in the article and there should be our autographs. Come on Laura, talk to the powers that be, and make this happen. Just contact your favorite Ruby Gem for the addresses.

The next VERY IMPORTANT thing is this dog business in Russia. I support all our athletes, but not the Russians. Did you hear what is happening today? The Russians claim they tried to get a dog shelter built but somehow it slipped through the cracks. Come on, Russians, you can do better than that!! Anyway, no shelter, and they have hundreds of stray dogs, so the military is rounding them up before the world arrives and shooting them. All I have to say, is what the heck? Or really worse. I told Mom I will not watch one minute of the Olympics due to this, but if she is stupid, she can. Any country treating their dogs like they are target practice doesn't deserve me. As the Queen of Hearts said, Off with their heads, and I mean the military doing this horrible act.Can you tell I am passionate on this subject? I better go calm down.

Have a GEM of a day all.
    Love and licks,
    Ruby

  • Almost forgot....Happy Belated Birthday wishes to Baxter. Hope you had a great day! ;)

    Till next time,
    Missy Chow
    xoxo

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
WOW, on the cover of a magazine and a big article inside; what more could one want? I know what. How about a big jar of animal cookies. Maddox and I could share them. Only he won’t be able to stash them. We’ll eat them right there. Some of you are really lucky having snow. My snow only lasted two days and now it’s gone. It’s been raining for two days now and I don’t like rain. It’s not a hard rain. It’s just enough to keep things wet and makes going outside really bad for someone who is covered with fur. Yep, we know what day it is.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • :-) HOW COOL IS THAT! A Pet magazine for MS critters and products...funny I thought the same thing, sure would be nice to get an autographed copy, or even just an autographed photo of you guys sitting on the bench with mommie M ...guess we just enjoy being part of Daily Wag and the F&S gang....even-though we all never met, it feels like we know each other. :-)

Yep, Hump Day and Snow galore :-(

    Till tomorrow my GS friends...
    delia & Kitty =^. .^=

  • Hello all our good buddies in the GS: Its hump day for sure, and its snowing like crazy again. Massive winter storm today, tons of snow which has been falling since 10PM yesterday. Lots of shovelling in our future! Mom was hoping for a snow day, but alas not to be - maybe she'll get to come home early. We have been keeping an eye on the Olympics as well, but didn't know about the lack of dog shelter - Miss Ruby Gem, we'll not watch a minute of it, what kind of society cares so little for its animals - wait, I know, the same kind that has so little tolerance for its people. Horrible, horrible. We watched the clip that one of the GS members sent out yesterday about the animal shelter in Raleigh - everyone is singing "Take a chance on me" now, its an ear worm! Anyways, gotta go, we are all just sitting in the front room watching the snow come down ...... looks like a good sleeping day. Love Martha, Miz Lu and Riley boy!

  • Congratulations Francesca, Sharkey and GK! Once again the stars of the media....the printed form this time!
Yes, we agree, the Glue Squad could use autographed copies! Sign us up.
Well, we got walloped last night with snow, ice, sleet. I, Brutus, had a heck of a time trying to walk on the frozen snow. Sorry, Dad, but I didn't/couldn't get too far before I had to do my nature thing. Maxie, here. Talk about walking on water...the frozen kind. That was me. I finally just stopped, squatted and ran back into the house. We will definitely be house-bound today.
Dad was out shoveling for an hour and the cars still need to be cleaned off.
    OK, enough whining.
We are off to eat breakfast, then a nap.
    Stay safe today!
    Pugs and frozen kisses.
    Brutus and Max

  • Hi Y'all,
Mis said she was going to see if there was an e-version of this magazine that she could download onto her Nook. Mis too believes that part of a healthy life is having furry companions to share it with. She says it grounds you to what is truly important. Mind you, I said grounds not GROUNDED! Although that's what it may feel like with us. HEHEHE! Not to worry, we've been good for a whole 2 days, I think.
Hope all you getting snow can stay warm and safe! I've told Mis that Ground Hog control was one of my specialties! There's not a one left on this farm! I think I'd like to meet this Phil! We have one called Sir Walter Wally. They torture the poor soul at the Life Sciences Museum in Raleigh. You should see those politicians holding him as if he were a sack of rotten potatoes. I have to feel sorry for him!
Ruby, we have to agree with you! It's infuriating that such a mighty government can't figure a humane way to deal with stray dogs and cats. Okay, we've got a ways to go in this country too, but the Russians have known about this problem from the get go. Now you figure out you have a problem? Bull Turkeys! I'm Praying for these souls and the one who have to carry out these orders.

  • Hi Y'all,
I'm back to comment on Martha, Miz Lu and Riley Boys Comments about the video "Take a Chance on Me". This was produce by SPCA Wake County NC. They do a great job drawing attention to the plight of animals in our region. They changed to a NO-Kill shelter a couple of years ago, and are known for these videos they produce. They also produce an excellent newsletter and have a pet photographer working with them to give the adoptees a professional photo to enhance their chances on adoption sites. And they also provide programs that help people who can't afford spay/neuter or even food (Pet food Pantry). After the bubble burst, they helped many people keep their pets so that they didn't end up in the shelter.
And as there always seems to be a bad side, so is it here too. The Wake County Animal Center across town has had a bit of problems with management and decision making that has hurt their adoptions. This is why I say, We've got a ways to go here too!
    Mis

  • How cute! My frenchies wish they were on a magazine cover haha
