More About Rutger's Trip To The Dentist

Posted by F&S

Remember last week when Rutger went to the horse dentist to get his tooth extracted?  Well, as it turns out, things were a little more complicated and Rutger had to wear special snow boots to get there.  They came from a company called Easy Care Inc.

  • Good morning, Francesca, Sharkey, Rutger, Betsy and Glue Squad Nation!
Goodness, Rutger, snow boots-who knew?! Hey Ruby, does this bring back bad memories?
Hey Riley boy we like the Glue Squad Olympics idea!
Maxie here--I would win gold in the "Dropped Food Grazing" catagory. And I think I could hold my own in the "High Jump while Barking" competition too.
Brutus here--about the only contest I would enter would be "How many times I can get them to let me out---and back in again" That would have to be a timed contest. hahahahaha
Tuesday is suppose to be cloudy with a chance of meatballs...no wait...with a chance of snowballs...no, no snow showers! hahahahaha
Oh well....we are still in winter, remember.
    Must be off....bedtime you know.
    Pugs and gold medal kisses,
    Brutus and Max

  • OMG. Just look at that Rutger. He looks magnificent. I like his snow boots. Do you think I can order a pair of those for Karen? Hehehehehe.
Dudley, did you have to wear special shoes when you went to the dentist? Missy Chow, tell me it ain't so. What did you do to get sent to the time out crate? Kirby, you enjoy your 70 degrees cause soon you will be roasting your butt off down there. Ruby, you could use a companion. They should gave left the raccoon come in to play. Yes. The Glue Squad is made up of The Littles, The Bigs or Biggies, the Humans and The Others. You decide which group you belong to hehehehehehehe
Chewy, how is everyone at your place? Hey, did you see that some of the USA athletes came back from Russia with stray dogs? Wasn't that awesome? Yes, kudo's to Canada for winning gold in men's and women's hockey. I like the idea of us having an Olympic Glue Squad games. That was a good idea.
Well, it is time to go with Karen to take care of the boarder dogs.
    Later,
    Maddox

  • Good Morning F & S

I'll tell ya that Betsy sure does take good care of the horses. Who would think that they would make snow boots for a horse - go figure! You had me worried there for a minute I thought he had more problems with his tooth glad to hear it was just the ice he had to deal with.

Well F & S and my Glue Squad Buddies as you know I went and had my ultra sound on Friday and I'm not liking the results even a little bit. It appears that I have the nasty "C" word in my bladder. I'm not going into all the details here on the blog mom can fill you in thru email. I will tell you this nothing is going to keep me from running through the house with my toilet paper train, nor keep me from standing in the dishwasher and licking the dishes to perform the pre-wash cycle for mom, nor attacking T-Bone for giving me a dirty look or eating all the cheese curls I can get in my mouth at one time - oh no this Frenchie is a fighter. Mom has me hooked up with a great doctors, some herb chick doc who is going to feed me weird stuff and an acupuncture whacko can you believe that - can't wait till she tries to poke me with a needle ;) I started my medication last night and I am feeling fine, except for having to go pee a lot.

Well guys add me to your prayer list and maybe a miracle will happen. Right now since the Polar Vortex decided to come back I'm going to go find a heat vent and take nap.

  • Hi F,S,&GK+ Glue Squad, It sure was fun to see these great photos of handsome Rutger again! Those horseshoes that he wears on his front hooves to walk in the snow sure are great! How amazing that he could walk up that snowy and icy hill to get to the dentist! You two sweet girls sure had fun checking him out, didn't you! Betsy sure does take great care of all the animals in the stable and outside at all times! She looks so great and happy in photo #8! Hope all of you have a great day and stay warm and safe and hug GK again for me! Nice to hear from Brutus and Max, Maddox, and Zoe this morning! Maddox, I never wear shoes or outfits and my teeth are OK now! Zoe, my prayers are with you and sure hope you will be better soon! Your Mom takes such good care of you and Mom will check the email real soon! God Bless you all! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Zoe,
In case you check back in today I want to tell you that acupuncture is great. You feel good. And those needles, you don't even feel them. Abram, my Chow uncle gets acupuncture. He is a big big big big baby but when he gets acupuncture he just stands there or lays there when the acupuncture doc, Dr. Jon, puts the needles in. Dr. Jon is great. He makes friends with all the dogs Then Dr. Jon hooks up some wires to some of the needles and he stays like that for 20 minutes and then it is over. They count the needles as they take them out to make sure they have them all cause he is a hairy beast. Hehehehehe
You can do it Zoe. Don't get worried about the needles. Focus on your message for us for tomorrow cause you know what tomorrow is. Hehehehehe

  • Good morning ladies, Rutger & Betsy,
Those are quite the snow boots. I'm sure it would be just awful if Rutger took a spill on the ice. I think he may need new ones for next winter. Do all the horses have their own boots or do they share? Rutger's winter coat sure is pretty. Maybe the next pair could be white!
Well, Zoe, girlfriend, I'm so sorry to learn about the results of the ultra-sound. I hear that herbs taste good. Acupuncture? Hmmm, well, I hear it doesn't hurt. You just have to be still, I know that's hard. Maybe you'll get a stick with peanut butter on it like Dr. Becky gives me when I need to sit still. Ask you Mom if they can do that for you.
Mimi will be watching e-mail for updates.
    Have a great day everybody.
    Your trying-hard-to-stay-warm buddy,
    Rebel

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
It was a great day yesterday but today isn’t looking that good. The weather “person” said it wouldn’t rain today but the sky is really dark. I don’t think it will make the high 60’s like they said it would. I think the Winter Olympics is a great idea. I know I will be the best at snow ball throwing. I have had a lot of practice throwing snow with my “hood” on outside. I use it as a scoop and then throw the snow where I want it to go. The last storm we had was ice pellets and it froze all together; wouldn’t scoop up for me. We should make it a rule that only loose snow can be used in that event. Hehehehe
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hello Girls & all my Glue Squad Buddies,
Interesting learning of Rutger's booties. I guess I should put my big girl panties on and wear mine and not fuss. If I would wear them, then I could go on walks on the ice. That would be good. Betsy takes such good care of everyone. I didn't know horses needed booties.

Now for the serious business. Zoe, girlfriend, I am very said at the news of your bladder "c" monster. But I thought about it and have come up with a great idea. Tell me what you all think. We now have our special ranks, the Littles, the Bigs, the Humans and so we should form a brigade of The Glue Squad to hold our ranks and stand tall and protect anyone who needs it from "c" monsters or other bad guys. We are the mighty Glue Squad, and we are the Littles, the Bigs, and the Humans, and we will support our girlfriend, Zoe, and her family through the battle, right guys??? Right!!!!! You are lucky Zoe, to be able to have the herbs and acupuncture and anything else needed. I sure can tell Mama Ann is taking the best care of you. So Glue Squad Brigade are you up for the battle with our Zoe???? I can't hear you.....o.k. now I can.....we are here, we are strong, and we love you. Prayers and support always to you girlfriend.
    Love and licks,
    Ruby

  • These snow boots are made for walkin'! :)

I have some spikey things I slip onto my boots to avoid taking unnecessary spills on the ice!

Glad to hear Rutger made it to and from the dentist safely!

    gail

  • :-) Rutger how handsome you look, and what Big hooves you have! ;-) I have some Horsie rubber boots for one of my horses when she had founder and I soaked her hooves with Iodine. It's not easy to keep horses, as they say, "healthy as a horse!" Not so, horses can be delicate, and simple things can make them ill.
Oh dear sweet Zoe our hearts are sad, how I wish I could change things for you...I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts...I'm glad you are getting good treatments.
Kitty has been going out and staying out for longer times, however she decides that at 10:30 pm ...yep, she sleeps through the day that sometimes is filled with sunshine..oh brother!
Hoping that all the GS friends and furfriends are happy and healthy.
    Hugs,
    delia & Kitty =^.,.^=

  • Hello Glue Squad Nation (we really like that name!):
That was a very interesting blog about Rutger's boots. This is Miz Lu today, and Mom would love a pair of boots like that, with spikes in the bottom so she could take us for walks no matter if it was icy or not. We have claws so we do pretty good, but sometimes even we are slipping and sliding.
Zoe, girlfriend, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, we are ready to go to battle for you, I myself can snarl and show my teeth in a very ferocious way, Riley boy is learning from me and even gentle quiet Martha can smile/snarl when she is upset or startled. We'll keep the C monster away from you. Everyone is ready to lend their support in any way they can. Well I've gotta get going, Riley boy and I are thinking up new competitions - thanks for the very innovative events that have been suggested, we are compiling them and will send out a listing to all the buddies once all events have been finalized!
Love and Beardie bounces to all, Miz Lu, Riley boy and Martha.

  • Hi Y'all,
Snow boots for horses! What a great idea! I know they hate to slip and slide as much as I did during that last ice episode. George loved taking a run and planting his feet on the deck and sliding across. Crazy dog, doesn't he understand all that comes back to you when you get older. Mis says she's feeling all those falls that she made when she believed she was immortal. All she can say now is that the grounds a lot farther down than it used to be. HAAHAHAHa.
Happy Belated Birthday Rebel!! Sounds like you had a great day and glad that you're coming out of your funk.
Riley, the doggy Olympics sounds like fun. Maybe a contest to see who can run the fastest for me and Izzy can bark louder and longer than any dog I know. George would surely place in a donut run! Zeke, I'm not sure about what his best talent is. We'll figure that one out!
Ruby, don't mess with those raccoons! Take it from me. Bad news all around. Now, groundhogs are my specialty. Mis has heard that people pay well to eradicate them in this area. She's thinking of hiring me out! NOT! Obama Care doesn't cover us dogs!
Zoe, we are shocked to hear about your bladder 'c-monster'. Sounds like you are in the best hands and you know that prayers are going out for you! Stay Strong! Mis wanted to let you and your mom know that we have an excellent Veterinary School here in Raleigh that takes on difficult cases. You are taken care of by students and professors and researchers. They offer trials too. Kim and Jeff had a pup called Mandy that had a pacemaker implanted and monitored by them. They are a great group! Costs are about the same as high end care at a regular vet. Sadly they can't defer any of the costs anymore.
Hope all of you have a Doggy Good Day!
    Dixie Boy

  • Horse snow boots? Only the best for MommyM's four legged friends. Of course Betsy is just amazing for all of the work that she does to take care of everyone. I'd love to see a doggy Olympics especially with the Glue Squad.

Sweet Zoe, no one loves you more than your Mama Ann and your Daddy. They will do absolutely EVERYTHING to defeat the c monster. We Glue Squadders are here for you and will activate our GS Prayer Shield to defeat the c monster as well!

I hope everyone has a great day!

  • Hi everybody...Sophie here....sorry we've been silent for a while...My best bud,Chloe is very ill...we are fighting the "c" monster here too and our mom has just been beside herself trying to deal with this new development...she and Chloe have been back and forth to the vet several times and there isn't anything that can be done...the plan is to keep her comfortable for as long as we can...feel like there is a black cloud hanging over our house right now...please keep us in your prayers, as we are doing for the other "smalls" in our group of Glue Squaders
Be safe and well everybody...we love you all!
    Sophie, the littlest Chiweenie
