Visiting Our Human Friends On The Farm

Posted by F&S

We Frenchies are really fed up with the weather.  First came snow and sub-zero temperatures, followed by freezing rain and then a day of balmy temperatures and more rain.  Nothing like going stir-crazy!

Oh hi, Mike. Is everything quiet by the front gate? Thank you for looking out for us.

Say, Ryan. I see that you have the orchid food and are mixing up a solution to feed orchids. No wonder they bloom so beautifully!

We're feeling like we have cabin fever and are paying visits to our friends on the farm. Did you say that Wilmer is working in the vegetable greenhouse?

Ah-ha! Wilmer is doing a fine job of creating bamboo supports for all of the tomato plants growing in these large pots.

Sharkey - look how beautiful everything is growing in here. I suppose we can begin harvesting in a couple of weeks. There's nothing like home-grown organic produce.

  • Thanks Frenchies! This was just the thing to make me smile today. The weather is getting to me and Connor, my little maltese-poodle too. We live in Wisconsin and the weather has been ridiculous.

  • Hello everyone,
I followed your lead girls. I went visiting the humans here That took a whole 5 minutes. Mammy Jean is sleeping in her bedroom. She has a sound machine on. It sounds like waves in the ocean, very soothing. Then I went to visit Karen. She is snoring away on the recliner. It is 3am so that explains why humans are sleeping.
I notice that we are all talking about the weather. Well, if you ask me I think Mother Nature tried some of that legal medicinal marijuana and might have over indulged. How can we go from almost a foot of snow one day to to freezing rain the next day which made everything one big sheet of ice and then waking up yesterday to 51 degree weather and by last night it was -2 degrees. Today it is going to be even colder. And the wind makes it feel even colder yet. Weird, really weird. So, if anyone runs into Mother Nature, ask her if she got into some funny stuff lately. Hehehehehe
    Love to all,
    Maddox
PS - all you little ones stay warm and try to stay inside as much as you can.

  • Hello Girls, G.K., & all my Glue Squad Buddies,
Yep, up again with night owl Mom. She says I am getting really good at "cc" time, so I am getting a few things done before we settle back down. How can you all be restless already, in the snow? Winter is just starting, come on and have a party and butt vroom. Everyone is always busy on the farm. Did Mama Martha make it home through all the commute problems from the snow? It is cold here, but no snow since a few inches over the weekend. Better go and have that"cc" time with Mom, but will check back later on all of you. Have a GEM of a day.
    Love and licks,
    Ruby

  • Hi F,S,&GK+ Glue Squad, All 3 of you sweethearts are having a bit of trouble trying to enjoy going outside and the crazy weather you have been getting is some what hard to deal with! Even handsome Gk is too tired to enjoy such strange weather! How nice that you 2 sweet girls decided to travel around and see your buddies Mike, Ryan, and Wilmer who were busy taking case of the farm! I absolutely loved seeing all of those beautiful vegetables in the greenhouse garden! Sure wish we had one of those! My Mom sure had fun seeing Martha enjoying the Bull Riding event in Manhattan! Mom used to love seeing bull riding when she was a little kid about 70 years ago in her home town Ellensburg, Wa. Hope to go back and read so many of you Glue Squaders great comments ASAP! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Good Morning F & S

So this morning I set the land speed record in the time it takes to pee-poop and get back in the house IT IS COLD OUT!!!! What the heck is going on??? It was 60 degrees yesterday morning - I'm so confused!! T-Bone doesn't know whether to shed his fur or grow more!! I'm staying inside today for sure - enough of this bitter cold for me :(

  • Good morning ladies,
Thanks for the tour. It takes my mind off what is going on outside. This is WAAAAYYYY too much winter for me. Mimi & Papa tried hard to keep a place shoveled for me during the storm, but I pooped in the living room anyway. They didn't say anything but "poor puppy" & cleaned up after me. Yesterday morning Papa put on my warmest coat with a sweater underneath & I decided to trot around a bit while he shoveled. I got caught in the snow & had to be rescued, it was bad. Papa grabbed me & took me inside to Mimi. I'm not telling them I need to go out until the last second. I run out, do my duty & run back in. I'm not going to work today either. Taking another snow day. Ruby, I don't think you'd enjoy this either! We do have snow to share!
    Stay safe & warm.
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • Hello Francesca, Sharkey, Glue Squad buddies,
WOW, what a nice garden indoors you two are exploring!! bet its nice and warm in there.
Fresh lettuce and veggies sound yummy, especially since we are having a heat wave- big TWO degrees outside. I think I have a world land speed record for pug/peke/frenchies for doing my business outside too Zoe.
Well, last night we drove into a snow squall and ended back at work overnight. The other dogs were happy and I just cuddled with Mom. Our roads are salted so travel should be better now.
Mom gave me the night off, yahoooo!!! Off to go look for more MickyD's breakfast platter.
Keep warm buddies, especially our little ones, Rebel, Dudley, Zoe, the Chiweenies!

  • Good morning everyone!!!!
First if all....welcome Deb and Connor from Wisconsin!!!! We hope to hear more about you and from you.
We have visitors today. Our human cousins Logan and Kayla spent the night and will stay the day. There's no school and their parents are working so we are watching them. They aren't doing much right now to be watched, but Brutie and I keep waiting.
Baby it's COLD outside! Minus nothing. It's suppose to get all the way up to 10 today! Waaahooo...a heat wave.
We think Mother Nature is sitting in Hawaii on a beach with a drink near by laughing her tush off. Vacation is over Mama!
Must be off....stay safe, stay warm.
    Pugs and frozen kisses,
    Brutus and Max

  • :-) starting with a smile, but not very sincere... It's sooo cold right now...I've rang the bell hanging on the door to go outside and mommie ~d keeps on saying NO! She says it's -13 right now and that I'd freeze my tootsies off...I told her I don't have tootsies I have small cat paws. Well I guess I'll do sleeping in front of the glass door. Actually I noticed there is nothing going on outside with the birds, squirrels and deer...nada!

F&S you guys have it rough .....right ;-)
Jan and mommie ~d always asks to leave kisses on fluff face GK wonder if anyone really ever does that for us...maybe a photo of proof?

Hey Deb Gorrell, we live in WI also! ;-)
Hope everyone is safe and sound...the minutes are already adding on to the sunsets...

    Hugs,
    Kitty =^; ;^= and delia

  • I think all we Wisconsinites need to think about getting together and having a GS party!
Francesca Baby, I am glad you had people to visit to keep your mind off the ucky weather. I think we're just in the 'it's really just as cold as winters are supposed to be but everyone is hysterical about it anyway' part of winter. People are silly. But even though I grew up in Northern Minnesota, I STILL don't like cold weather, so I am looking for sunny spots and am happy when Mom puts sweaters on me or bundles me up in a fleecy blanket. I keep hoping Mom and Dad will retire to Florida or someplace, but they like what they do for a living too much.
    A bientot!

  • Good morning everybody and welcome to Deb Gorrell and Conner! We can't even imagine what some of our buddies are going thru with this weather business. It's warmed up in the Pacific Northwest and it started raining last night. Snarfy little Sophie stuck her nose out the door, got hit by one drop of rain and ran as fast as her stubby little legs would carry her to mom's room and under the bed she went. She thinks she might melt I guess...with Sophie, who knows. Mayer and I just enjoy the peace and quiet while she's in there. Mom is coming down with what she says is a wicked cold so we'll get lots of cuddle time with her today....our favorite!!. Everybody keep warm and toasty...we're thinking about you all
    Chloe, the Queen Chiweenie

  • I'm right with you girly girls! Stir crazy is right. NH has been experiencing a wild swing of temps, snow, freezing rain, temps soar and then plummet.

Right now it's about 12 degrees outside. At least the sun is out today. :)

How many days until Spring? :)

    gail

  • WooHoo it's 2 degrees outside!!! This is a big improvement over -15 degrees yesterday. Welcome aboard Deb and Connor. You know it's bad out when even Wisconsinites are tired of the frigid weather. I feel for you ladies. Wow even G.K. who should be running around loving this is done with it.

I hope everyone stays warm and cozy.

  • ...stay warm all my little buddies..yes, Maddox, Mother Nature appears to be doing something..menopause..maybe?...see the county road crew is working on the road..big signs at the end of our driveway...Cora-Belle used to walk down there at lunch time and they would bring her back home..me I barked and growled at them and they laughed and gave me a bite of sandwich... not the effect I thought it would have on them....bet, Jan Erickson was a Pendelton Round-Up person..and you probably watched the sucicide run..Indians..horses..steep hillside and a little alcohol..goood times!..must go help fold laundry..I love warm towels!..over and out, love, Chewy and the group p.s. where was Uncle Carlos?
