As with all creatures on the farm, we like to check the doves often for any updates.

The nesting basket is high in the cage. Maybe I can stand on my hind legs to catch a glimpse of the baby squabs.

  • :-) How cute are those little baby squabs! I get a kick the way they look right now, and I love watching the different phases they'll go through...you Frenchie girls keep an eye on them and report back with the progress.
Well Ruby sweets you finally got your snow...enjoy!
We can't seem to stay above 0 but heard it might be changing soon. ;-)

  • Hifellow Glue Squaders! Wanted to let everyone know we haven't been abducted by aliens or anything exciting like that...mom has just been really, really busy and Sophie, Mayer and I decided it would just be best if we hung out in living room, or even better yet she's been so busy as soon as she gets up she forgets to turn the blanket off and we will slink down the hall and burrow all the way to the bottom of the bed...small dog nirvana!
Hey Ruby, we've baked our chocolate chip cookies..how are those biscuits coming along? Everywhere you look in the neighborhood you see Seahawk blue and green....except the last house on the street..A Bronco fan...he even has orange twinkle lights in his window..and their hairless cat~I can't remember what kind mom says it is, I just think it looks kinda evil~has this orange snow coat they make him wear when he goes in the car with them..we point and laugh when they drive by..mom says we are not nice; but hey, how often do you see a hairless cat wearing an orange coat riding in a car?...Uh Oh gotta go, mom's calling us to bed so I have to dash...hope everyone has a great week...

  • Ooh how wonderful the little squabettes are growing so quickly! :)

I miss seeing Marc on Martha's shows! His caravan of critters was always so fun to watch!

I'll be on the lookout for updates on the doves and possible change of hands, err beaks! :)

    Happy Wednesday..

  • Good morning everyone,
Where do those doves live out in the wild? They can't have naked babies in our area with all the cold wind and snow that we get. If they would live outside, I think they would live in the Bahamas. Hehehehehehe
Here it is again. The special day Zoe likes to mention. And then only a few more days till the big game. And then the next big thing is Westminster dog show which we are not attending this year and then Nascar racing. Yeah. The judge that will be inspecting chows is one we have never shown to before. We don't know what style of chow she likes so we will stay home and watch this year.
    Enjoy the day,
    Maddox

  • F & S what day is it??? Glue Squad tell me what day is it - you know it - it's HUMP DAY!!!!!

Yes Hump Day indeed and with it we got more snow :( Looks like 2 inches out there but that is too much for me - YUK. Mom is slacking on the shoveling I had to run through it to do my business without a nice pathway. She better finish her coffee and get moving I'm not fond of that white stuff touching my legs.

Chloe I want to cheer for the Broncos but my dad is going to be cheering for your team. I'm so torn because he has a lot of dog treat $$ riding on the game - oh what to do what to do :(

    Zoe

  • F & S - Almost forgot to mention those Squabs. It's a good thing they grow up to be pretty birds because they sure are ugly kids.

I guess they are like us in a way when mom talks about how cute us Frenchie's are and people tell her we have a face only a mother could love. Maybe other birds tell the Squab mom and dad the same thing :)

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Some of you did what I asked and sent some of your snow. Last night before going to bed, I had a good time plying in the falling snow. There is about two inches on the ground now but it is really wet and slushy; gets my feet wet and I don’t like that. Sorry to hear about Zoe freezing her butt off. Not being able to go to the bathroom must be really terrible. Now everyone knows what she is full of. Hahahahehehehe I had better quit while I’m ahead. What day is it Zoe????
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hi F,S,&GK+ Glue Squad, How nice of you two sweet girls to show us these latest photos of those lovely baby doves that are finally getting some white feathers! Their parents look so happy and can't wait to see them with their total feathers and being able to move around in their cage! You two girls looked so sweet telling us all about the doves and every thing else you share about Martha's beautiful Bedford farm! Sure would be fun to be there with you! Did you get some snow again today? We are getting rain today and no fog right now! Hope you stay safe and warm and hug GK again! Sure was fun to hear from 6 of you great buddies this morning and hope you all stay warm and safe in that snow! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • The squabs are cutie-patooties (no squabbles there). Why does Martha want more Red Factor Canaries? I thought she had a lot of them (remember the photo of G.K. watching them intently?). Are doves boring? Hmm...

  • Hello Girls & all my Glue Squad Buddies,
Glad for the update on these little guys. Sharing with Marc is a great idea. I haven't heard his name in a while. They are growing fast. Mom's Grandma used to raise German Rollers, no they aren't a wrestling bird, but a canary.

Glad to hear you are filling us in on what day it is Zoe. Happy Hump Day. I can see the camel now. We all need to say extra Glue Squad Buddy prayers for Zoe. Her infection is not gone and more tests soon. Mama Ann is very worried about her girl, and needs us all to put out the old Glue Squad prayers for our girlfriend. You will be zooming and toasting the Broncos soon, I know Zoe.

Have a GEM of a day all!!!

    Love and Licks,
    Ruby

  • Good morning ladies & birds,
Hmm, no one mentioned having squab for dinner. Marc better get out there before the chef gets a hair-brained idea for dinner (or feather-brained).
It was so cold here yesterday that Mimi forgot to turn on the computer, I think the cold got to her brain.
The folks are going to the neighbors for the Super Bowl. They used to live in Denver & actually are moving back there this summer, that made Mimi sad. Anyway, all the noise will be 2 doors down. Is it going to be noisy at your house?
    Stay warm everybody.
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • Hello All the GS buddies: What a difference a week makes - those little squabs are starting to look almost dove like! Looks like the parents are starting a population explosion! There might be more babies in another couple of months, yikes!!
Well its still brutally cold outside and yet more snow forecasted for every day this week, with a bonanza of it on the weekend. We might as well be living on the North Pole. Its so fiercely cold now that our evening walks consist of just around the small court we live on ...... oh well, January is nearly gone, February is a shorty month and then March we get the DST back. Spring is coming! Its our Dad's birthday today and we are also getting ready for Martha's birthday on Saturday. She wants a slice of cheese pizza (we all do!) and a small slice of birthday cake - Mom will make sure it happens and we will party all day Saturday. I saw Mom carrying a Petsmart bag last weekend, I hope she got greenies for Martha (we all love them) so we can really have a party. We are looking forward to the Superbowl - of course we'll root for the Broncos - just gotta figure out how to get the cool American commercials ...... Talk to everyone later, Love and Beardie bounces Martha, Miz Lu and Riley boy.

  • Morning Girls & Glue Squad Buddies - The baby squabs have grown quite a bit in the last week; they will be as big as their Mom & Dad in no time. Thanks for the new pictures; and look forward to the next update. Well, we got more snow last night, but only a ground cover, no more than 1", that's okay with Mom and later today the sun may peep thru to melt it away ;) . I know she is ready for spring. Off to make sure Dad shovels my patio. Happy Wednesday to all.

    Till next time,
    Missy Chow
    xoxo

  • Hello Hump Day!!!! Francesca and Sharkey those squab-babies really are growing. We miss Marc and Cora Belle!
The temp is suppose to climb into the double digits today! Yippee! Twenty above zero is much better than twenty below. Right?
Zoe we will keep you in our prayers.
We are looking forward to the Super Bowl this weekend. It will be just the two of us and Mom, but we can make a bunch of noise.
Must be off....things to do and all.
    Pugs and warm kisses,
    Brutus and Max

  • Hi Y'all,
It SNOWED!!! Sorry, we sound like all those OTHER Southerners that were freaking out on national TV last night. Truth be known, WE (personally) do NOT act like that! But what many of you seasoned people and pups must remember, we don't invest in snow plows, blowers, shovels. We have to live with the stuff until it melts, which will be soon, temps will be into the 50's by Saturday.
Right now it's 18 degrees out there. Too cold to play much. Tonight it's going to be in the single digits here and recovering to just above freezing tomorrow. Mis won't let us stay outside long today, not that we want to. Ruby, don't worry, we've already been butt vrooming! Glad you got to also! By the way, we got about 4" to 5" here.
Zoe, thinking about you! Sometimes it like with humans and takes time to cure. Queen Chiweenie, Sounds like that family is living dangerously! I'd have to laugh at a naked cat wearing an orange coat too! Just don't do it to her face! Happy Birthday to Martha, Miz Lu and Riley's dad!
It's great to see those little birds getting their feathers. I'm sure the parents are happy too! Mis would love to have a set-up like Marthas. Maybe she could have birds and not have to worry about us dogs and cats bothering them. She has to keep in mind though, some of us were raised in a barn! I'm glad to hear that they will be going to a good home. It's nice to be able to barter. Anyone looking for a 60lb. Red Bone/Pittie Mix that goes by the name of George? Trade ya for food. Alright!! I'm just kidding Mis!!!!
Everyone have a Doggy Good Day and stay warm and safe!
    Dixie Boy

  • Hi Franny,Sharkey and Glue Squad buddies,
Wonderful pictures of the baby squabs and they look so cute with their new feather coats. With the extreme cold in the North East they must have a nice toasty warm room. I wonder if Martha has budgies? Mom loves blue, green and yellow budgies.
What day is it Zoe??? My Mom was singing that camel song this morning.... its Hump Day!! Hope you feel better real soon buddy.
Happy Birthday to Miz Lu's Dad today! Pizza and greenies sounds real good, yummy. My gran papa just brought HOME PIZZA. who said wishes don't come true.
Jimmy here now, the pug/peke/frenchie just ran in search of pizza. Thank you Maddox for looking at my picture on the Animal Hospital facebook page.
Little Chiweenies, do you all have sweaters to go outside? Mom is working all week then off for the Super Bowl (first time in many years!). Ruby, are you excited??? Missy Chow, hugs for you up in Boston.
Enjoy and seize the day Glue Squad!
