More Visits With Friends

Posted by F&S

It's a good thing we got all of these photos taken the other day before the temperatures plummeted!  As so many of you Glue Squaders have reported, it's quite painful to go outdoors!  Everyone, please be safe in this arctic weather.

Hi There, Suzie! It's always a pleasure to visit you in your office. Franny and I are just going around the farm checking in on all of our friends.

Hey, hey, what do you say, Rufus, Billy, and Clive?

You donks are sure funny with all of your antics!

Pete - that sure is a lot of eggs you collected from the chickens!

I guess their slow laying period is over and probably, the new baby chicks are finally old enough to lay regularly. It's good to see so many eggs again!

Still, once the days grow longer, their egg production will increase even more. Egg layers are very light sensitive and the longer the days, the more they lay.

The chickens and roosters all look very healthy and they're still eating last autumn's pumpkins, which are full of beta-carotene to make their yokes very yellow.

Well, where to now, Francesca? I think I know where I'm headed.

  • Hello Girls & all my glue Squad Buddies,
Hitting the hay early tonight. These nights up having "cc" time with Mom have gotten the best of me, I'm tired. But then I sure perked up when I saw the donks. Gail is going to be in "donk heaven." And seeing those eggs makes me want to have an omelet. But the best thing is seeing you heading inside to cuddle with GK. Is anyone getting snow, or is it just cold? I am keeping my paws crossed for snow. Have a GEM of a day all.
    Love and licks,
    Ruby

  • P.S. Welcome to Deb and Connor. You sound mighty cute Connor. Keep warm though, so close to the ground.
    Love and licks,
    Ruby

  • Good Morning F & S

I like your idea about going to snuggle with GK. I bet he doesn't feel this cold with his coat. I don't think I've ever felt cold like I did yesterday. It brought new meaning to the word COLD.

My plans for today will be the same as yesterday, lay by the fire in my bed or on dad's lap while he reads. Poor mom has to go out to work :( I think I'll start playing the lottery so she can retire and stay home with us.

    Stay warm everyone :)

    Zoe

  • Hi F,S,&GK+ Glue Squad, You two sweet girls sure do have fun going outside and being able to visit with your friends who work on Martha's wonderful Bedford farm! I really enjoyed seeing Suzie, Pete, Rufus, Billy, and Clive, and the chickens and their beautiful eggs! How fun that you went back into the house to snuggle with GK! We have been very lucky to not have such freezing weather, but we do get a lot of rain and Mom still goes outside to cut more wood everyday! Nice to be able to stay warm inside the house! Nice to hear from Ruby and Zoe so far this morning! Chewie, My Mom never got to Pendelton Round-Up in Oregon because she lived in Ellensburg, Washington when she was a kid to go see the bull riding at the rodeo! Will check back to hear from more of you buddies later! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Morning Girls & Glue Squad Buddies - how nice of you to check on everybody at the farm, I'm sure they appreciated it too. It has been real cold. I've seen snow, walked in snow, played in snow and now it's cramping my style. Limited outside time, very short or no walks at all and I can only patrol inside the house for so long. When is spring??? or even warmer temperatures, I'd be happy with that...I'm starting to get cabin fever, and cabin fever could bring trouble ;) . Better run, nap time. Stay warm everyone, Mom says warmer days WILL come ;) .

Welcome Connor, hope to hear more about your adventures.

Hope this isn't a duplicate post, my paws were a little too fast in sending my greetings.

    Till next time,
    Missy Chow
    xoxo

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I guess the whole world is talking about the cold weather now. The news and weather has segments about the cold all the time. Some people around here were without electrical power yesterday. Seems that the power company shut down the power to sections of the county because they didn’t want an overload from usage by customers. This seems to be used quite often around here. That didn’t work out too well because when they turned on an area, the higher than normal usage overloaded some equipment and the whole neighborhood shut down for 20 hours. Ykes, at 12 degrees I’ll bet some people got really cold.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Good morning ladies,
It was good you checked up on everybody! The donkeys sure are a lot of fun.
It's a bit warmer here this morning, 11 degrees. I'm back at work with Mimi, but I think I'm ready to go home. I tried to do a normal snoop around & got cold already. Off to my bed here in Mimi's office.
Stay warm everybody and hope that Ruby gets some snow so she can butt vrroooom!
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • Good morning everyone!
Those donks certainly seem to like you two!

We are finally going to see some warmer temps today. Well, that's what the weather geeks are saying.
Max here.....Mom finally let me outside this morning without my coat. Don't tell her, but that coat was nice and warm the last two days. Anyhow, it's in the laundry today.
Yesterday was a busy day around here. As we said, our human cousins Kayla and Logan were over. It was nice for Max since he likes to cuddle with anyone who sits on the couch for more than 2 seconds. But for me, Brutus, two more bodies in this house takes up space. Kayla spent most of the day in Mom and Dad's bed reading, watching TV, messing with her little phone...doesn't matter....the problem was...I wasn't in that bed napping! So today I need to catch up on yesterdays' nap time. Oh bother, our work is never done, right?
Ruby...hope you get your snow soon.
Must be off....the bed is empty and it is MINE!
    Pugs and sleepy kisses,
    Brutus and Max

  • Hello all you GS buddies out there: Well, I think we are all sick of the cold already, and we have just started winter! No walks for two days now, Martha won't go past the end of the driveway, and me and Lucy's feet get too cold. The best we can do is the backyard for a few minutes at a time. Even the cat buddies won't stay out more than a few minutes at a time. It's sunny today and a little warmer, perhaps we'll be able to go out tonight. Definitely feel cabin fever starting to take hold!
Everyone keep warm, keep safe - Spring is coming, already the evenings are starting to get a little longer ...... Love and Beardie bounces, Martha, Miz Lu and Riley boy.

  • Hello Francesca,Sharkey,Rebel,Ruby and buddies,
It was wonderful to see the donks today and Martha's beautiful chickens!! I LOVE seeing them and was wondering how they were doing in this bitter cold.
We are having a heat wave, big 14 degrees out. Tomorrow it may even go up to 30! Waahoo.
Abby is enjoying yet another snooze on her gran papa's lap while I am reading a biography on Benjamin Franklin. He is a great man and I think the glue squad would love his quotes.
Mom is off tomorrow after a long string of work days in the frigid weather. She has special neoprene all weather work gloves to wear by the dog runs outside to protect her skin. She has to be very careful with the dogs in the cold weather and hopes the Glue Squad pups keep warm and avoid salt on their paws. Hope Kitty is keeping warm indoors too!
Thank You Daily Wag for the great chicken photos,
James Dean the persian cat boy

  • Hey buddies..going to have to be really quick this morning...mom is still fighting a cold and got up to let the 3 of us out and to make a cup of tea and going back to bed which is fine by me...Chiweenie nirvana~queen size bed to stretch out in, flannel sheets, electric blanket, full little bellys, empty little bladders, quiet house...we love it! Finally put away our cold weather gear and got out the rain coats. Sophie and I are low riders too Conner, and there is nothing worse than having your tummy hit a patch of ice...puts a little spring in your step...Hey Chewy, it would seem your plan to lull the county road crew into a false sense of security is working well...good boy! Ruby, we know you're suffering from butt vroom deprivation...just hold on and fight the temptaion to start running laps in the house ok?
Uh oh, the lights just went out in the kitchen and I've got to beat the other 2 to the bedroom so I can claim the best spot next to mom
    later everybody
    Chloe, the Queen Chiweenie
eeekkk the kitchen lights are off...gotta go
    Chloe, the Queen Chiweenie

  • What an adorable photo of the donkaroonies! :)

They certainly brought a smile to my face on this yet again bitterly cold day. It's near 20 today in NH, which seems balmy compared to yesterdays arctic blast.

The sun is out, so there is a bit of lift in my spirits.

Let's all hope for an early Spring! :)

    Stay warm!
    gail

  • :-) So where is the snow? Did it melt with the rain? F&S that's great ground covering of the animals at the farm...love the chickens and funny Donks..... HEHAAAW!
Susie are you the moderator and write the posts...huh- huh? And where is Uncle Carlos...huh - huh?
OK, no one is kissing GK for me, so Missy Chow maybe your mommie will kiss your fluff face for me...and where is Maddox ...kisses on your fluff face!
Kitty is getting FAT from laying around and not going outside for excercise...what a bear fluff of 12lbs of course mommie - d hasn't gained any weight! Ya right! ;-)

Hello and hugs to all our buddies here!
    delia & Kitty ={^. .^}=

  • ..wow..some excitement on my back porch..I was hanging around watching Lucinda do laundry and lo and behold a little paw comes under the crack of the back porch door..I, of course, raced over and gave it a sniff..yes, it was attached to a raccoon that standing on the other side...it yanked its little paw out in a hurry..so now I am high alert!..high wind advisory tonite..but that is nothing compared to the poor people experiencing the artic vortex..must go eat a cookie and think about raccoon paws!..over and out, Chewy
