There's the dad standing by to take over his responsibilities. Like the mom, dad doves have excellent parenting skills and take great care of the squab babies.

Sharkey, I almost feel sorry for the very first squab that was born only 2-1/2 months ago.

  • Hello everyone,
So girls, if these doves have babies every 21/2months, that can add up to one big family at the end of the year. Martha has two choices, build a bigger dove den or find some magicians that are in need of doves. Hehehehehe.
Hey, Zoe, Queen of TP Trashing, high Priestess of Wednesdays, please tell everyone what day it is today. You go girl, yell it out.
    Going back to bed.
    Later gang,
    Maddox

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I have to disagree with you Franny; not everyone has to grow up. They may be adults by their size, but as for growing up, I haven’t and never will. It’s too much fun being young. But I will have to say, being 12 sure isn’t any place for sissies. I have a few pains in my joints; I think it’s name is Arthritis. It’s a pain in you know where. Enough about me now for Zoe; what DAY is it??? Ooooo, it’s right on the tip of my black tongue.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Okay give it to me - tell me - go ahead what day is it - I CAN'T HEAR YOU........... THAT'S RIGHT IT'S
    H U M P D A Y !!!!

    Good Morning F & S!

Another bird in the house - HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY :)

Mom said we can't have any they are too messy and she wasn't taking care of any more pets.

So we got a foot of snow and that means I'm NOT very HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. Not to mention wind chills below zero :( So does someone want to tell me where the global warming went? I was enjoying last winter - bring it back.

I'm not leaving the house I'm off to find some TP and making myself a nest on the heat vent.

  • Hello Girls & Glue Squad Buddies,
Zoe, where are you girlfriend to tell us what day it is? Little doves, how sweet. I think with the cold they need little blankies, having no feathers. They sure are good parents. I think I see a light above them to keep them warm.

The report was in from Dad. He was high a mountain pass and called to tell us ice fishing is great. Caught some 18 inch Rainbow Trout. Now I have been on my honor, pretty much, more on that in a minute, so I should get some of this fantastic trout, right? Brother came home last night and couldn't believe the mess I had made. I can't help it if it is dry and we aren't getting snow. I lay outside on the grass and come in looking like a hay bale. He called my blanket on the couch a stable. Maybe snow a bit tonight and tomorrow. But for the weekend, the 60's. Have a GEM of a what kind of day, Zoe?
    Love and licks,
    Ruby

  • Hi F,S,&GK+ Glue Squad, It was so wonderful to see all 5 of those lovely doves that live in Martha's home there at her Bedford farm! You both must have been thrilled to especially see the 2 latest babies and I enjoyed seeing them, also because I've never seen any baby birds around our home! The mama and the dad sure do take great care of those babies and they should grow up well because of their care! How is GK doing? Bet it's pretty cold there at the farm with that snow outside from yesterday and the temperature below freezing! Take care and stay warm! Nice to hear from you Maddox and Kirby sure hope your pain goes away! Will check back later! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Good morning ladies,
I'm with Maddox. It could be a concern that there will be babies every 2-1/2 months! That's a lot of tweeters. Just don't open the cage door 'cause then someone will have to say "who let the doves out, woof, woof, woof.
Hey Zoe! What day is it?
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • :-) ahhhhh... I miss my doves seeing this! I love doves and had several in a large cage...it was always fun seeing the new ones. Sharkey and Franchesca don't you just love the soft cuing (sp?) noise they make? You girls have so much Joy at your home...Lucky You!
I actually saw some doves yesterday in the -0 cold, guess they are preparing for Spring .

Kitty says, mommie ~d "I love Doves too!" Well, we know what kind of love she has ;-)

Gosh Zoe, it's already Whoohoo hump day? Seems like a Sunday to me!
So Ruby you must prepare yourself for this weekend of screaming for your team...don't think it's bad, it's a good thing :-)

Have a good Hump Day everyone!
    delia & Kitty =^. .^=

  • Good Morning Everyone!!!!
Francesca and Sharkey....Pretty in Pink! As always you girls are rockin' it!
Goodness, two more babies....Mama Dove must be tired and Daddy Dove seems to be really randy. Right? And we thought rabbits were bad! hahahahaha Those babies do look cold.
Of course everyone living east of the Mississippi looks cold today! Brrrrrrr
Our "high" today is suppose to be 7! Guess Max will be wearing his coat. I, Brutus, wear my coat all the time. hehehehe
Kirby, I feel your arthritis pain, dude. My hips are not happy during all this coldness.
Hey, Ruby did you see Martha on the Today show this morning? She will be rooting for your boy Peyton at the Super Bowl. That's a fact. I heard her!
Must be off to find a warm, soft spot for a nap.
    Pugs and frosty kisses.
    Brutus and Max

  • Congratulations little dove family! :)

I'm sure 'junior' will make a fine big brother!

Birds of a feather, flock together. So I've been told!

    Happy Wednesday...

  • Morning Girls & Glue Squad Buddies - Nice to see the new additions to the Dove Family. Must be fun to sit and watch them, very relaxing, right?? Well, the past 24 hrs have been busy, Ruby, you'd love it..we got 13" of snow, light & fluffy but temps in the single digits & cold winds this morning. Dad let me check out the back yard while he cleared a path for me; but I certainly didn't want to come back in, it was fun pushing the snow with my nose..however, not healthy temps for any length of time for sure. Zoe, you are toooo funny! Maybe a nap is needed before my next adventures. Have a great Wednesday!

    Till next time,
    Missy Chow
    xoxo

  • Hello Everyone: Hope everyone had a nice Monday off, we didn't get the holiday so that was just a bummer for us! We are in the grip of a very cold air mass - another Polar Vortex?? Its super cold out here, too cold to snow! Short walks only cause everyone is complaining of it being too cold to walk outside.
Congrats Miss Ruby, heard your Broncos going to the SBowl. We love the watch the Superbowl because of all the great commercials - although sometimes they take out the really good US commercials and put in the crappy Canadian ones! - we have to look for them on U-tube, we want Budweiser horses and cool animal pics, puppy bowls and now kitty bowls. Everyone have a nice day, keep warm and cozy. Love and Beardie bounces, Martha, Miz Lu and Riley boy.
