Bath Time For Peony And Tang!

Posted by F&S

Friday was a grooming day for Empress Tang and Princess Peony, the two calico Persian cats.  Many people don't think to give their cats a bath, but Martha has always bathed her cats regularly.  We Frenchies had nothing better to do, so we joined everyone in the basement as friendly observers.

Sharkey, you're shaking like a leaf. Don't act so nervous. This bath is not for us.

Sanu and Maria are in hot pursuit for either Princess Peony or Empress Tang, the calico Persians. I heard Martha saying that they were rather dirty.

Peony, isn't it comfortable in that nice warm water?

We Frenchies get bathed more frequently than you. You cats average one to two baths a month.

Now that you've been shampooed, you certainly smell good.

And now for the dreaded blow dryer.

I am not a fan of the dryer, but Peony doesn't seem to mind.

Of course, with Maria holding her down like that, she doesn't have much choice, now does she?

Look how much matted hair is coming off her little body. It's important to remove matted hair because it can cause skin irritation.

You're being very patient, Peony.

Oh yeah? Let me tell you something, Frenchies. First chance I get, I'm outta here!

  • Good morning everyone,
The cats were remarkably good for their baths. They look good the girls did a good job on them. I wonder if the cats will sit and watch when you girls get groomed. Hehehehehe
Couple things this morning. IF we do not hear from Ruby this morning, then she has computer issues. IF we do hear from her, then the issues were resolved. Just passing on the message.
How about the football games this weekend. A lot of close games. In the Philly -Detroit game which was held in Philly, they played with 8 inches of snow on the field. It looked like a blizzard with all that snow coming down. And the Steelers -Dolphin game. What an ended. The Steelers were throwing the ball back and forth to the players like it was a basketball game. That was kool to see that.
Sprocket will be here another day. The people could not get back last night. They were in Orlando. They had snow in Orlando also. We are a sheet of ice here this morning. Trinity's little girl is housebroken. She was since she was three weeks old. The bad thing was when she was out this morning she couldn't get back up the frozen ramp. So Karen used several leashes that she tied together that she tied to the deck rail to get down the ramp to get the puppy and all she wanted to do was play. It is freezing rain coming down and the puppy is out there pouncing at Karen and running back and forth. It was funny to watch but I don't think Karen was too happy. He hehehehehehehe.
Now I am going to watch out the back window cause she is going down to the kennel to take care of those dogs. I don't think she has enough leashes to get down there. It looks very icy. I am staying put today. This is a good day to go on a biscuit hunt
    Love to all,
    Maddox

  • I agree, nothing cuter than soapy kitties! :)

I bet Tang and Peony were a bit miffed with F&S watching them. How embarrassing, huh! :)

It snowed a bit last night in Manchester, NH. Will get about 2 inches total. Which is 2 inches too much in my book.

I've officially started the Winter grumbles! :)

    Happy Monday to all!

  • Good Monday morning Francesca, Sharkey, Princess Tang and Peony, Sanu, Marie and Glue Squad! Whew...that was a mouthful.
Don't know, but from what we are seeing, Tang and Peony had a few choice words for everyone involved in that bath. hahahaha
We feel your pain, Ladies...we don't like baths either.
Karen, we hope you made it to the kennels safe. Falling on ice is not a good thing. You could break something. Be careful!
Friday we received over 6 inches of snow! Brutus, was very, very happy. In fact, he stayed outside for so long he looked like a snowdog. Max, here, snow is not my idea of a good time. Mom had to drag me outside. Even though she shoveled off the patio and a pee-path for me, I still wasn't thrilled with going out in that.
Mom baked some more yesterday and we think she is going to do more today....at least that is on her list.
Gotta go....she needs the computer now. Bummer.
    Stay, warm and dry GS!
    Over and out,
    Brutus and Max

  • Hello Girls & Glue Squad Buddies,
Well, I am sure glad it is Monday. Can you believe that one? It was a hair raising weekend around here. I felt about like Peony and Tang looked during their bathes. I see they are getting ready for Santa's arrival. It is a rough job giving us all our bathes. I wish I had a spa setup like Maddox does at Karen's kennel.

Computer hard drive crashed, but we had just enough time to save all the photos to Weston's laptop. Lesson learned from this experience. Have a back up Mom or all your precious Ruby Gem photos will go bye bye. Today is cookie baking with my people sister, Sara. Yahooooooooo!!!! Maddox, I have an idea to get Karen to and from the kennel in the ice--get a sled, tie yourself to the front and take her for a ride to and from. Well, my boy Peyton and the guys got us to the playoffs I hear. I bet we will be meeting your Brady Bunch Missy in the near future. Well all, it is supposed to be in the teens today. A real heat wave, a tropical heat wave.....have a GEM of a day.
    Love and licks,
    Ruby

  • Hi F,S,&GK+ Glue Squad, You two beautiful girls sure did have fun watching sweet Peony and Tang get a bath from Martha's friends Maria and Sanu! Mom and I have never seen cats get baths before, but we remember seeing you two girls and GK getting a bath a while ago and that was fun to see, also! Peony and Tang sure did look beautiful and happy when their baths were done and I recall how happy you looked after your baths! Sure hope you have a great day and stay warm! Are you getting any snow? It's very cold here and we could get some snow this week! Nice to hear from Maddox, Gail, and Brutus and Max already and will check back for more comments! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
All I can say about washing a cat is that you have two brave ladies there doing the job. I wouldn’t want to be in the same room if my Mommy gave her cat a bath. Just wiping him down is hard enough. He doesn’t like it inside very much and stays outside most of the time. When it really gets cold outside, Mommy brings him inside. He puts up a fight but gives in when he sees that all his protesting is for nothing. Not a good weekend here. It was a misty rain for the entire weekend. Now today, it is going to rain more and more again tomorrow. I need to move to Florida so I can have some snow. Hehehehehe
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Good morning ladies,
Just look at those kitties! They are cute when wet. I get monthly baths, too. I don't mind so much anymore. I get a massage, warm rinse and wrapped up in a towel. I've learned to go with the flow, too.
Hey Karen, be careful. Mimi slipped on the ice a few years back, landed on all fours, but her lower back gave her problems for a long time afterward.
We had just about and inch of snow. Nothing this Chihuahua can't handle. No pee-path needed yet.
Our trip up north was a success, got Eli's desk at IKEA and had a great visit with friends. I slept all the way home. I was bushed.
Well, have a great day everybody!
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • Hi Y'all,
Francesca and Sharkey, If it were any of the cats here, we wouldn't be standing so close. We'd be considered accessories to the fact and be judged guilty with all that would ensue. So, as you see, we don't bath cats! Mis's health insurance is good but she tries not test it out! But we will have to agree, they sure are cute bundles of wet fur! Ok, Mis thinks anything in cat fur is cute. George fur, not so much lately. I'm still a GOOD BOY!
Dark, cold and dreary about sums up our weekend. Oh, forgot the thunderstorm that rattled the windows Saturday at 4:30AM. Mis's sister, Kim stated that at least it wasn't officially winter or we'd be getting ready for a blizzard in about a week. Mis reminded her that our concept of days and time was irrelevant to nature. Best be on the lookout for some white stuff she says. We can't wait to see George the Goofy in snow.
Karen, please be careful! Our ramp is off limits any time it gets icy. We have steps down the back of the deck that have more handholds. Mis keeps threatening to get a sled and ride down the ramp when it snows. It's the closest thing to a hill we have. Problem is, Mis proved in collage that she couldn't drive a sled worth a flip. And at the bottom of the ramp, there're some rocks on the left along with a good sized holly tree. It wouldn't be pretty I'm sure!
I hope everyone has a good doggy day. Franny and Sharkey, best be checking behind the chairs and doors for those cats. They never forget being humiliated!
    Dixie Boy

  • Good morning Squaders! I have a message for you all from Chewie, Lucinda & James..life at their house has become very hectic so we won't be hearing from them for a little while, but as soon as things calm down we will be hearing from them again; so not to worry!
Maddox, keep an eye on Karen while shes out making her rounds in the kennel..we don't need her slip sliding away
Our plans for the day are to stay in and stay warm...it is supposed to start snowing here this afternoon...oh boy, we can't wait...NOT! Mom says it's a good day to bake Christmas goodies, so you can bet we will be right on her heels if that's the case...never know what might hit the floor!
    Chloe, The Queen Chiweenie

  • I can't believe you two were anywhere near the vicinity of a bath! How did you know that Sanu and Maria wouldn't surprise you two with some bubble time too?

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Ruby I see you on here meaning yay you got your computer fixed! Karen please be careful out there, don't want you falling on the ice. Kirby Bear we have snow for you here in Chicago. Probably a little too much for you Rebel.

  • :-) Oh my goodness those poor Oriental-Pusses...can't say they look beautiful wet, but indeed funny...like aliens! Now when dry, they are gorgeous :-)
Mommie delia would love to bath me... but know for sure, one of us would get hurt. ;-) the Vet said I'm extremely clean for a cat that goes out in the woods...so I'm glad about that, mommie is glad too.
Ruby tell mama Lynn she should get an iPad...I don't know what mommie delia would do without one.
Hope that everyone is safe and sound and warm.
    Kitty =^. .^= and delia
