We're The Barn Dogs Of Equestrian Quarterly!!!

Posted by F&S

Last June, the good people from Equestrian Quarterly magazine came to photograph at the farm for their Fall 2013 issue.  We want to announce that the issue is out!  We are proud to say that we Frenchies even made the special section of EQ called Barn Dogs.   You can see it in EQ by clicking here and then scrolling to page 106.  Please enjoy today's revisit from that gorgeous day in June and be sure to check out Martha's blog, featuring wonderful photos by EQ's Photography Director, George Kamper.

Yes, Sharkey, I've heard about EQ. They say that it's a comprehensive celebration of the equestrian lifestyle – the fascinating people, exciting locations, and magnificent homes.

Maybe that would explain why there are people in the stable with a photographer taking pictures! Perhaps our stable will be featured in this magazine!

How does it look, Mr. Kamper? If it's not perfect, we're happy to pose some more.

We noticed you have a section in the magazine called 'Barn Dogs.' We wouldn't mind one bit if you featured us.

Yes, the boxwood allee is very impressive, but may I suggest that you walk further down and take a photo with the stable in the background? It's a very dramatic shot!

You must be the Editor and Creative Director, Stephanie Peters. We're very glad to meet you.

And this nice fellow is the Publisher, Wynn Medinger. There's something about you that dogs just love, isn't there?

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Hope all had a good weekend; I sure did. It was sunny and warm but it turned cloudy on Sunday with just a tad, that means just a little, rain. It lasted almost three minutes. It’s too bad I don’t live on a farm so I could have a barn with horses in it. I just love horses. Mommy says they are a lot of trouble and require care everyday. Kind of sounds like me doesn’t it? I don’t have to go back to my vet until December unless my eye gets worse. Having to put drops in my eye three times a day, it is checked often. I have some pain pills I can take if I begin to hurt. I just may get “hooked” on these things if I take too many of them. Hehehehehe
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Good morning ladies,
This is really special! Looks like you all had a great day and now those folks know how sweet you both are (besides being good lookin').
Had a quiet weekend. Mimi was doing a bunch of laundry because she's flying to California on Wednesday. That means I'll have long days at work with Papa and the gang.
Hope everybody had a great weekend. I'll check back later to see what's posted.
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • Good Morning F & S

Let me ask do you have riding gear? I think you would look great in a helmet and boots :)
Those horses are just beautiful and Betsy does such a nice job with the braids - she must really love horses.

It's a HAPPY Monday here - mom took off from work :) I think she is furniture shopping then plans on cleaning out our office. I'll supervise the cleaning.

This weekend wasn't so bad with Super Nephew he is pretty cool. I stayed away from the TP but he left his beef jerky on the table while he went to grab a drink and I enjoyed it for him ;)

    Happy Columbus Day!!!

  • Hi Y'all,
Oh my, what a spread. It was great to see them take an interest in barn dogs too. They can be a very important part of farms, providing security and such. And what a wonderful barn! Here we are often questioned if we were raised in a barn when we do inappropriate things. Mis said she wouldn't have minded being raised in that one! And as always, it's great to hear about the people behind the scenes that make it all come together. We Thank You!
It is still cloudy and misty with occasional drizzle in our neck of the woods. They think we may see some sun tomorrow but it's going to rain again on Thursday. The moss is growing well! Wow! A SOLID week of this! Mis has left George with us for about 4 to 5 hours each day this weekend. She is trying to get him used to her being gone and hoping that he will settle down and not rip things up. He did pretty good. Friday we did rearrange the living room furniture so we could have more room to play. She wasn't impressed! But overall things are going well! She's wanting us older guys to teach him how to behave when she can't be here and can't take him with her. We'll get that twerp in shape!
Kirby, how nice to have a sunny weekend! Good job Zoe! Hear from you guys later!
    Have a Doggy Good Day!

  • Good Monday morning (almost afternoon)everyone!!
You two ladies certainly are photogenic! Max and I think any magazine would be honored to have you pose for them.
Well, we think the flea problem is behind us now. Mom and Dad gave us baths Saturday. As much as I try to avoid a bath, I must say it did feel pretty darn good. Don't tell them though! I'm not scratching and licking nearly as much and Mom got another round of flea medicine from the doctors this morning. So I'm hoping this is it.
How about those Bengals! Top of their division or something.
The weather finally feels like fall. Highs this week suppose to only be in the upper 60's to low 70's and lows in the upper 30's. Yahoo!
We've had some movie shooting here in Lebanon for the past 2 weeks. Some Hallmark (I think) made-for-TV Christmas movie. It's funny to see all the leaves on the trees gone, Christmas decorations up all over town and fake snow on the sidewalks and streets. I'll have to let the Glue Squad know when it's going to be on TV. And no. No one invited Max and me to be in it, much less star. Sucks to be them, they don't know what they are missing.
    Enough of that.
Hope everyone is well and had a great weekend.
I'm off to my patio and some serious fall sun lounging.
Maxie downstairs with Dad. Don't tell him I'm posting!
    See you later!!!!
    Brutus.

  • Sorry, I forgot to address Zoe.
Zoe....my theory is if Super Nephew left his beef jerky somewhere you could get it, sucks to be him!
If someone leaves food out I figure it's "up for grabs"! hahahahaha
    That's all.
    I'm gone.....
    Brutus
