  • Hello Girls & Glue Squad Buddies,
The Chinese Lanterns are so very beautiful. Kind of like a natural solar ball outside. Can they be dried and perhaps put on Christmas trees? I declare you girls have everything on your farm. Lucky us to see and learn from you.

Now I am happy and sad. I am sad I do not get a bedtime treat or breakfast because I have to go to my vet dentist to get my teeth cleaned and my capped canine checked. But what I am very happy about is that I have good parents that care about me and get my teeth fixed from all my time in cages. Mom and Dad keep telling me not to panic when they leave, that they will return and Ruby they said you will get happy medicine to make it not too scary. I will return Glue Squad buddies, I just know it. Wish me luck. Have a GEM of a day.
    Love and licks,
    Ruby

  • Good morning everyone,
Wow, those Chinese Lanterns are so bright. What does Martha use them for? I think they would look neat in flower arrangements.
Black Mamna and Chewy, I am so glad your friend Jake is better. He is very brave. As for Riley staying in the down position, your mom should put Gorilla Glue on the pads of his feet right before he does his down. He might even win a prize for the longest down. Hehehehehehehe. I see we have some happy football fans and some irate ones as well. I guess there was a lot of POTTY MOUTH SYNDROME going on at the Wallace house and from Zoe's mom as well. You go ladies. Just let it fly. Get your frustrations out. Hehehehehehehe.
Well Glue Squad, I got up for a midnight snack. I ate that so I guess I will head back to bed since no one else is awake.
    Have a great day
    Love to all,
    Maddox

  • Good Tuesday morning Ladies and Glue Squad peeps!
We have heard of Chinese Lanterns, but didn't know they contained fruit! The things you girls know amaze us daily.
We overheard Mom making an appointment for Brutus to have his hair cut and a BATH. He really does need it, though. With the flea-demic over, poor Brutie looks like an old moth-eaten fur coat! So the groomer will make him look good again. Of course, Brutus doesn't want to discuss it. He goes this Friday so the count-down is on.
Zoe, when do YOU get a vacation? Seems like you are being left with a sitter alot. Maybe Super Nanny will be like the Nephew and leave food around for the taking.
Riley, we helped Dad rake leaves Sunday. But, like you, when Dad rivved up the leaf blower, Brutus ran for the house. Noise doesn't bother me. According to Mom, I can make more noise than a leaf blower! hahahaha
Matilda....welcome to the crowd and thanks for filling in!
Chloe....we are thinking of you and praying for you daily.
Chewy....boy did you ever land at a GREAT forever home! Lucinda and James are our heroes of the day for helping the abandoned doggies. And please let Jake know we are thinking and praying for him, too.
Guess that's about it for today.
It's cold in this house and I'm going back to bed and snuggle under the blanket. Mom is at work and it's just Daddy and me in that big bed....I'm in heaven.
    Pugs and kisses
Max...and Brutus.. who is in his own bed, minus a blanket.

  • Good Morning F & S

Pretty little puff balls you have growing in your garden. What happens when you chew one open? Maybe if you take a bite and run around all kinds of pretty stuff will flow from inside - go ahead try it ;)

Max and Brutus my vacation is when mom takes a week off and stays home with me :)

Ruby good luck today I'm sure your teeth will be all pretty when you are finished.

I think I'll take Max's advice and go hit the bed with dad, chilly in here as well :)

    Zoe

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
When I first saw the heading for today’s subject I thought, wow we are now talking my language; Chinese. But when I looked at the pictures it was just about some flowers. Now don’t get me wrong, I do like flowers. I guess ole Kirby doesn’t see it all with his one eye. I think I will go back to bed; it’s been raining and everything outside is all wet. My Mommy has a cold so she will sleep some today; I’ll be a “good boy” and stay near her bed. Daddy will stay close to his computer updating his ancestry files. He now has over nine thousand names of ancestors of his and Mommy’s.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • :-) Chinese Lanterns are great dried flowers. I wonder if this could be grown in WI. they resemble another very small flower- Bittersweet, that I love to decorate with. Chinese Lantern used in medicine ....interesting?

  • Erh, ummm, HI,
It's George here today instead of Dixie Boy whose out chasing who knows what. I'm not a chaser! I'm not even really a barker. Mis says my main talent is making messes.
Wow! I would love those puffy Chinese Lanterns. I'd have them chomped down in a hearts beat if I had the chance. Yes, I'm a plant eater, aka, destroyer. Mis said I would not have made a good greenhouse dog. Good thing they changed professions before I got here. But those little lanterns need faces painted on them girls.
Ruby, wishing you well at the vets. I've got great teeth according to Mis. Sorry that you had to be caged so long that it messed yours up. But from what I hear, you've got some great humans looking out for you now. In fact, all the Glue Squad seems to have lucked up and got the best humans.
Max, I got my first bath inside, in the bathtub Sunday. Zeke is an excellent teacher and taught me how to find and roll in deer scat. Mis was not amused! So it was lye soap and warm water time. Everyone with the exception of Dixon got a turn. He has to be 'cat licked' with a cloth you know. I like the rubbing and scratching but not so much the rinsing. The best part was the treats that came after!
Sending prayers to all those who are sick and I hope you're better real soon!
    See yah,
    George

  • Good morning ladies,
    Love the Chinese lanterns!
My big news....Mimi is back home......HOORAY!
I bet you all feel the same when Mama Martha has been gone.
    Great day to all.
    your pal,
    Rebel

  • Hello Sharkey and Franny and Glue Squad friends,
Nice pictures of the Chinese lanterns. They are really pretty, maybe we can grow some in our garden next year with the anticpated catnip additions. I love fresh nip! Good stuff!
It appears we have missed a lot with Mom's weekend away in Massachusetts. Red Sox are now in the Series!!!! How 'bout our Sox Missy Chow??!!!
Zoe, hope you get lots of snuggle time today and get ready for the next Eagles game. Ruby, hope your dentistry goes very well and not to worry about your special Broncos. Welcome Matilda! Maddox, are you reading anything out on the deck?? How are my buddies Kitty and Black Mama?
Off to read a book about Hemmingway and his cat friendly home in Key West. Purrrrrs to all,
    James Byron Dean

  • Hello Everybody: Those Chinese lanterns are just right for Halloween - kind of neat decorations. We have a fake pumpkin (nobody wants to carve out the guts of a real pumpkin anymore) and pumpkin lights and spiderwebs and spiders and all sorts of Halloween goodies. Maybe we'll get a hold of something from the goody bin - but Mom says no chocolate for us. We love it, but it doesn't love us! No raisins, peanuts, or other really sweet candies for us either - geez, not much left to be looking forward to! Miz Lu came back from the groomers this afternoon, man does she look most excellent. She smells great, has clean ears, short nails and is shaved in all the right places! Poor Riley boy couldn't stop trying to smell her - Miz Lu put up with it for a little while, then the boy got told off BIG TIME! I, Martha, was polite and enquired as to her time at the groomer, then left her alone. She is now totally flaked out on the floor. Spa treatments are very stressful you know. Well today is sunny and quite cool, it rained like crazy last night, another ton of leaves came down so looks like we are doing the same thing next weekend as we did last - raking and bagging! Going to be cool the rest of the week, that's fine, just no more rain for a while, please!
Gotta go for now, Miz Lu sleeping, Riley boy looking for some trouble to get into and I'm going to sit outside and enjoy the crisp air. Love and Beardie bounces - Martha, Miz Lu and Riley boy (Mr. Ants in his pants).

  • Hey Everybody!! Aren't the Chinese Lanterns pretty? They look small enough that even we could take a little nibble without too much trouble! Ruby, good luck at the dentist. You'll take a nice little nap and when you wake up you'll be all done! Piece of cake! And I'm sure if you behave yourself your mom and dad will have all sorts of treats and goodies for you when you get home!
Mom says we are staying home today and cleaning house...that means she will be in the house and we will be lounging on the porch...it just needs to warm up a little more before I set a paw out there; so she better have another cup of coffee!
Sophie and Mayer are acting like complete weenies this morning. Got up, ate breakfast and then snuck back into the bedroom and got right back under the covers!
Hope everybody has a great day with lots of adventures!
    Chloe, The Queen Chiweenie

  • ..thanks for the info..I have never seen a Chinese lantern up close and personal...whew!..busy day..finally got the dog that was in the woods..he had a collar on and belongs to some people a couple miles up river on the other side..they have been looking for him on their side of the river for a couple days and were delighted to hear he was okay..must have been chasing something and swam the river and got cold and confused..a big farm dog that was scared..he was thrilled to see his people and they said no more letting him out at night unsupervised..I better get in the kitchen and see what is going on..I hear pots and pans banging around..talk to you all tomarrow, love, the naughty Chewy

  • Hi Girls & Glue Squad - just a little behind schedule today, Mom finally turned on the computer for me. When we go for our walks, there is a house we pass and she has the Chinese Lantern plants in her front yard. Mom has never tried growing them in her garden. Ruby, hope you made out ok with your dental work and all is normal for you. Rebel, glad Mimi is back, bet you missed a whole bunch, right?? Maddox, are you planning another midnight snack or early breakfast? Hope Jake & Chloe are doing better. Abby & James Dean, first came tomorrow night. Sounds like everyone had a busy day today. Mom is off to the dentist in the morning, she said she would rather watch paint dry instead. Sure hope she keeps the computer on when she leaves ;) so I can sneak into her office & post.

    Till next time,
    Missy Chow
    xoxo
