Getting Ready For Another Dinner Party

Posted by F&S

We Frenchies love when Martha entertains.  Before hand, there is so much hustle and bustle to get the house ready for guests.  We really savor all the great aromas emanating from the kitchen as the food is prepared.  And what we really enjoy is the actual art of entertaining, which we have gotten quite good at.

It appears that Laura Acuna is setting one of her beautiful tables here in the brown room. That must mean that Pierre is doing the cooking. Let's go and check the flower room kitchen.

Ryan, you take such good care of Martha's houseplants and decorate so nicely with them. I wish we could help you carry them inside. I guess we Frenchies will just stick to the supervisory position.

  • ..wow..what fun..a dinner party..you Frenchies are helpers!...maybe there will be some left-overs...over and out, Black Mama ...p.s. we oversee any outdoor cooking that goes on here at the farm/ranch..we really like hamburgers!

  • Ooh fettuccine, send me over a plate, please! :)

Looks like F&S are excellent supervisors. I wonder if they nibbled any of the party delights? :)

It's raining Sharkey's and Tang's today (cats and dogs. :)

    Happy Tuesday...

  • Good Morning F & S

So tell me at the dinner party do you get to hang out with the guests? That would be so much fun saying hello to everyone, giving them a few Frenchie kisses then asking for a taste of what they are eating ;)

Mom is having a dinner party tonight but just 2 guests. Since she has to work all day she just ordered dungeness crab from Oregon which will arrive this afternoon and she is preparing king crab legs, you could say this is going to be a crab feast. I'll pass on the crab but I'll be more than happy to taste the garlic bread.

Lots of rain here yesterday, dad had to pump the pool down again!! The good thing is everything is SO green the bad is you can't sit out back and enjoy :( I have to watch through the window because the rain is so hard! I hope it decides to leave us soon....

  • Good morning everyone,
All I can say is that Martha's dinner guests are in for a fantastic meal. That Chef Pierre really knows his stuff. I think 2 frenchies and a chow will be getting a special treat from him also. You must tell us about it
James Dean, I didn't know you had two sons. Do they live with you and Abby? We had rain here all day yesterday. No walks in this area. Did you get to go on your walks Abby? Black Mamma, Lucinda would not forget your cat food at the grocery store. She loves you and your friends. But please be careful with coyotes around. Brutus and Max, do the people on the bike trail stop to say hello to you? Zoe, you could hide in your mom's golf bag and don't come out till she already started playing. Then she will have to take you along for the day. So Ruby, I bet you will miss Weston and the turtles when they move into their new house. Don't worry. You will always have Frank Sinatra, unfortunately. Hehehehehehehe. Kirby, you are an indoor hunter? I get ya bro. I bet Missy Chow is too. Rebel, how is your little baby Robin doing? Riley, Martha, Lucy, Baby Favor and Kitty, what have all of you been up to? Dudley, I hope you got everything you wanted for your birthday on Sunday cause you deserve the best. I guess Molly and Jake gave up on being Glue Squad members as did Chloe. It is tough to be a member of the Glue Squad. You have to be there on a regular basis to be supportive of the other members. It is a commitment, but a rewarding one. Hey, guess what? I am taking the dryer out to dry a Maddox Spot on the deck cause it rained all night but the sun is coming out now.
    Love to all,
    Maddox

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I love having parties at my house too. All those good smells coming from the kitchen. The scratching behind the ears by the guest. The little treats I get just to make sure everything is cooked right. And I must not forget the leftovers. I have my own food to eat so a party is something extra for me to “chew” on. Hehehehehe I guess it’s quit raining for a day or too here; had another five inches yesterday. Everything is so soggy I hate going into the yard. Just give me the dry sidewalk any day.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hello Girls & Glue Squad Buddies,
Just got in from checking the kingdom. I did see some paw prints in Mom's sunflower seeds she planted on Sunday. Oh what Mom--I gave myself away how? Oh, I forgot, those were from my landscaping. Just making sure the soil was the appropriate blend. Carry on Mom, the crew said it is a good bed for the sunflowers. I do hope you girls and G.K. and all the cats get to enjoy the fun with the party. I get so excited when people like my vet or friends come over that I jump up on them. Gently, I must say, but I was told by a guest last week that most people don't like it. Well, then, why does Weston pat his tummy for me to come up when he comes home? This person just doesn't know a loving Lady when they see one. Oh, Maddox, don't remind me about the Frank Sinatra music of Mom's when she works on cards. OMG---Calgon take me away. She loves old blue eyes though. News update on Weston's house. Was told yesterday after Mom took the guys lunch, that Weston was telling all about what was going in this room and that, and guess what? The turtles get to live in the frontroom. Weston has 2 tanks of aquatic turtles, 2 in each. One is a 200 gallon tank and the other is a 175 gallon tank. Weston doesn't want them stuck in a basement or bedroom, he says they are going to be front and center in the frontroom and get to see all his activities. They will get to look out a bay window and hear lots. They will go BA NER CO. He says his hang out room will be a room with a fireplace and his t.v. Another pool day, better get busy and fill it up---100 yesterday, in the 90's all week. You all with the rain, be careful what you wish for, you might get 100 degree weather and water restrictions. I hope it will dry out for you all so you get deck time. I had fun "cc" time with Mom yesterday, when she was home. Rebel, by the way,how is the mange going---no signs of a return I hope. I know Dr. Becky and Mom take the best care of you. Stay cool, calm and carry on and have a GEM of a day Glue Squad.
    Love & licks,
    Ruby

  • Hello sharkey,Francesca, Maddox, Ruby Tuesday, Rebel, Black Mama, Zoe, Ms.Chow,Dudley, and all my glue squad friends,
What beautiful peonies and the little french strawberres look delicious! Exciting getting ready for company, hope you girls get lots of treats.
Zoe, do you eat crab legs? I like seafood catfood, shrimp, etc. Rebel, I hope your little robin friend is doing well. Ruby, that is really nice Weston's turtles will have plenty of sunshine in the front room. Maddox, my two boys were adopted out from the animal hospital. Sometimes we see my silver tabby boy, he has a persian round face like me and Big paws like his papa. I guess I am a proud papa like you.
Zoe, hope you and Kirby have some dry deck time soon. Missy Chow, did you hear- Mr.tebow is now a New England Patriot! Mom did a happy dance last night at hearing the news. Mom is getting ready to go running then we are reading more of The Last Tycoon together before work. Abby did not get out walking yesterday, it poured rain, ook. Those nasty alien cicadas are starting to move on out.
Hope everyone has a puuurrrfect day-
James Byron Dean the persian dad boy

  • Good morning ladies,
I know that you are the hostesses with the mostest. Where are you ladies during a dinner party? Can you go in the dining room? Are you greeters at the front door or kitchen helpers? I the smells of the cooking can just make you swoon........
There was an article in our paper this morning about a rabbit fever and that all kitties need to stay indoors. Mimi wondered why we haven't had any rabbits this year, they're all sick!
Maddox, I did not see the little robin. I think it flew away. The side yard next door has been very quiet & I bet she's over there. The robins have been very busy eating the serviceberries. Mimi managed to get a few herself. She says they taste like raspberries. I don't eat them.....she and the birds can have them all.
Ruby girl, as for my mange, it's being managed with monthly baths and I had to have a "beauty" bath, too. I got stinky rolling in something. I'm so clean that I think bugs just slide right off!
It's going to be hot here, too & storms tomorrow night. Enjoy your swimming pools, everybody!
I'll be in a nice dark closet with Papa's shoes.
    Til tomorrow.
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • What a fancy-schmanzy party this will be...awesome set up...Frenchie girls you are keeping an eye open so that all is done well...
The Glue-squad is still waiting for an invitation LOL ;-)
JD, Ruby, Kirby, Maddox, Zoe, Black Mama (that's who is here right now) Kitty and I have been posting late on the iPad and it seems it takes a bit longer to post here, but we try to go back and read and post everyday.
Hoping everyone has a good summer start, we are still waiting for it here, I do believe we might get some hot weather soon.

    till tomorrow,
    delia & Kitty =^. .^=

  • Hello everyone!!!
Today we have sunshine. Suppose to get to around 87 this afternoon. Monday morning we woke up to rain. And Monday night Brutus went to the basement because it was thundering and lightening.
Our kitchen was smelling pretty good this morning. Our human sister, Erica, had surgery Monday so Mom made her some chicken noodle soup and some brownies. She take it all over to Erica's house this afternoon.
We have guests today. Our human niece and nephew, Kayla and Logan are here. Mom took them to the library this morning. They started the Summer reading program. This will be Logan's 5th year participating in the program. I hope his mom kept all those tee shirts. Anyway, Kayla will probably take Brutus and me for a walk later. She good at that. Logan just finished making Mom and Dad a picture for the fridge.
Gotta go see what's happening downstairs.
    Pugs and kisses!!

    Max and Brutus

  • ..rabbit fever..never heard of such a thing..I must read up on it..I like bunny rabbits..wow, Weston, that is a turtle tank..lucky guys!...Lucinda is off to get her hair done...she likes it super short with blonde high-lites..she is a bit sad because Cora-Belle always went with her and slept in the truck waiting for her then they would go get a snack..one of my tribe has a hurt leg..limping..if not better in a day or two we will live trap it and take it to the vet..three eagles flew down the river this a.m., I better get out and do my patrolling duties...later you glue squaders, love, Black Mama ..p.s. just wanted to thank all of Cora-Belles glue squad buddies for welcoming me with open arms to this special group of super critters and people!!..

  • Afternoon Girls & Glue Squad-I bet the dinner party was wonderful and lots of fun. Boy, all that food on the counter, you girls sure have will power and so well behaved. Can't say that would happen to me (will power that is)-I've been known to countersurf much to Mom's dismay. It was fun to read everybody's early post today; late in the day computer time for me. Maddox, did you dry a spot on the deck? We have had alot of raint the last couple days that my time has been very short. Soggy paws - NOT! Ruby, sounds like Weston has been very busy on his new house. Dudley, hope you had lots of fun on your birthday Sunday. Rebel, cuddly up with Papa instead of his shoes, you'll get lots of c/c time with him. Zoe, hope your Mom's dinner party goes well, stay close for any crumbs. James Dean, yes, we have a new Patriot, it will be an exciting year in football. Abby, it will stop raining soon then you can catch up on your walks & park visits. Black Mama, you are doing a great job keeping everyone informed of what's happening on the ranch. We all miss your friend Cora Belle. Kitty, what's new with you? Hi to all my friends.

    Till next time,
    Missy Chow
    xoxo

  • Hi everyone! Hi Francesca Baby! Things are getting busy around here, so it's getting harder to drop in. Please don't kick us out of the Glue Squad if you don't hear from us for a bit. Anyway-- it looks like you are on the verge of an awesome party, I hope everyone minds their manners. Of course, I also hope you get some awesome schnibbles to enjoy. It is finally warming up here. Mom lets me play with the Water Monster almost everyday now. I am teaching Roxy the challenges of such an unpredictable creature. Roxy went to Sun Priarie Wisconsin on Sunday and worked the Kissing Booth for French Bulldog Rescue Network. She and a couple of friends helped raise over a hundred and fifty dollars. It may not be much, but it will help. We are all getting rested up for our next gig-- Bastille Days, which is an awesome festival of all things French in Milwaukee. Between now and then, though, Mom is working on Wicked, so we won't see much of her.
I hope everyone continues to have a good summer; we will try to check in whenever possible, but if we don't, you should know that we all think of you and send you our fondest wishes. Of course, I reserve my very fondest wishes for my Francesca Baby, but that's what a Mom is supposed to do. :)
    A bientot!

  • The hostesses with the mostestes!
