I mean really... who can deny the resemblance right? I think that Frances may actually be of the chihuahua variety, if anyone wants to know my thoughts on the matter...

Since then she's been with this nice rehab lady named Maggie. I told mom we should keep her...ya know, with her looking like me and all that... but mom said it was best for Frances to go back and live free in nature once Maggie made her strong.

Mom said it was impordant for Frances to meet other orphans like her and be something called, so-shoo-lyzed- so she could be ok when she moved out on her own in nature... Here she is with her BFF, Lucky.

Anyway, I digress. Sooo, in mom's billionth blog about Frances- or maybe it was Part 3- we were getting ready for Frances and her posse to relocate to the indoor-outdoor cabana to get them used to the great outdoors...

Here's the sign on Maggie's outfit... I like the sentiment...although it really should be called Maggie's 24-7 Wild Life Party!

They all still get daily room service of course and are still perfecting important skills like nut-cracking, nest building, foraging etc.

Maggie's place even offers some screwball...squibil yoga type class that helps Frances and friends get all 'one with the earth' or something like that. Personally I'm more interested in the Wild Life happy hour spread....

So... there's your Frances update for now. The cabana doors will be opened in a few days and the crew will be free to come and go as they get aglumaded or acclimated...whatever that means...

BTW- Here a snap of me on the day Dr. Pia adopted me...ah what a joyous day it was for mama and me. I remember it well. Frances is a lucky critter for sure... Mama Pia won't stop at anything to assure the best for that little chihua-scweril-shmerble creature!

Anyhooo....that's my story for today all you waggers and glue squaders! Didn't want you to worry about me- so I wanted to reach out and check in with my peeps! I know I act all bothered and tough about this here Frances thing but truthfully I'm glad my mama takes a stand for critters of all species!

I've learned so much about what they call 'wildlife' from this Frances thing- you guys should really read up on it all and consider supporting humans like Maggie. After all, we caring types need to stick together right?

Minnow

  • Greetings Minnow.
We know how you feel. We have to sit there in our own yard while Mom and Dad hand out perfectly good food and peanuts to the many squirrels, rabbits, birds, woodchucks, deer and whatever else finds it's way in our yard. Boy are those animals lucky to have wandered to this place. There's always food, corn, suet cakes, and 2...count em' 2! bird baths...one above the ground and one on the ground. Plus when they have stale cereal, bread, cookies, bagels out that goes (like we don't like that stuff, too??). And then they hand out vegys and fruit.. we are here to tell you it's like Halloween every day around here.
But Mom and Dad are great to us. We each have our own bed, we have food and water aplenty and treats!
And the very best....all the love anyone could ask for. We both think we have it pretty darn good here.
Gotta go, our human brother, Gabe is here for an early morning visit.
    Pugs and kisses
    Brutus and Max

  • Hello Minnow,
Good to get to see you and learn more about you since I am fairly new to the Glue Squad--7 months now gang in my forever home, yahoooo!!! Frances looks like she is fairing very well and has lots of friends, thanks to the rescuers. I am like Brutus and Max. The folks feed the squirrels. They have their own deli platform out in the back 40, and everything from cantelope to corn on the cob goes to the squirrel clan. Squirrels are part of my kingdom and I am so glad that you and your Mama Pia rescued Frances. We love the updates. Have a GEM of a day all.
    Love and licks,
    Ruby

I sure am glad I came back to look at the blog for Thursday!
Mimi was gone all week, computer turned off & I was "off-line".
As you probably know, I am a black & tan Chihuahua. You and I could be like Frannie & Sharkey. What do you think! I think you're a real cutie patootie!
Sure am glad that Frances is doing well.
    Thanks Minnow!
    Adios for now.
    Your amigo,
