Wrestling GK With Bulldog Throws

Posted by Francesca

Like most dogs, GK loves to bask in the warm sun.  I admit, we Frenchies, also spend a good deal of time with this particular form of R&R.  The other day, GK seemed entirely too serene, so I decided to rouse him a bit.

Sharkey, look at GK basking in the sun.

He looks way too content and peaceful. I think we should shake things up a bit.

GK, how would you like to wrestle with me?

I've been reading about wrestling throws and there's one called a bulldog (how apropos), in which the wrestler grabs an opponent's head and jumps forward, driving the opponent's face into the mat.

However, Sharkey, nothing I do seems to be working. GK just won't budge!

Let me try the cobra clutch bulldog, where I stand behind my opponent and use one leg to drive the face of the opponent into the ground.

Sharkey, that didn't work, either!

OK then, here's the full nelson bulldog, where I fall forward to my back, driving the opponent face-first. Do I detect a chink in GK's armor?

I seem to have had a bit of success! How many points for that, Sharkey?

And now for the inverted bulldog! This is where I leap and drop, driving the opponent's back onto the mat. If I wrap my lets around the opponent's upper chest and neck, the move is called a bulldog lariat! Victory!

How many points do I get for a takedown? Two? What did you say, GK? You were just playing along with me?

Well, I guess I can appreciate that. You are, after all, so much bigger and stronger, yet you treat Sharkey and me so gently. You're a very good friend and a great sport!

  • Hehehehehehe. You girls are funny. GK could just put his big ole paw on your head and down you would go. But, he is a good boy and he would not hurt you. I am glad he is gentle with you girls. I had some Frenchies that went to the shows when I did that were my good friends. They used to lay on me when it was cold weather cause my fur would keep them warm. I guess I will go to bed and catch up with everyone in the morning
    Love to all,
    Maddox

  • Hi again,
Just checking back to see what you Glue Squad members were up to over the weekend.
I guess I will head to the deck and enjoy the cool morning till you maniacs get awake. Hehehehehehe

  • Good Morning F & S

I agree with Maddox one swat with the paw and down you go. T-Bone plays with me like that, we run around, he wrestles with me and never hurts me. Sometimes I do let out a yelp if one of those big teeth hit me by mistake, then play time is over because mom thinks I got hurt.

What a wonderful weekend!! Mom and I worked in the yard and Dad worked on the pool. Nicole came over to use the jacuzzi Saturday and then slept over. Yes we had cheese curls and popcorn :)

I spent lots of time laying on the deck catching some rays. Just felt SOOOO good - can't wait to get out there again today. Too bad Mom has work but I'll help Dad or maybe I'll just lay on my chase lounge ;)

  • Hehehehe...Mom and I giggled a lot over your blog, Francesca. GK is a good sport!

  • Hello Girls, G.K. and Glue Squad Buddies,
What fun to wrestle with G.K. We know if he wanted to he could win, but he is soooo gentle and kind to you girls. Franny, be careful of your back with those fancy moves. We don't want you caged for a month again. How was everyones weekend? As for Ruby I did some redesigning of the landscape. That means I dug a big hole. The dirt was so nice and soft, I just couldn't resist. It will be filled with snow tonight. Did you hear, I get one big last snow---really big--8-12 inches? Yahoooooooooo!!! Cocoa and popcorn party here I come, even if Dad says I have a muffin top. I have been doing a lot of walks. Have a GEM of a day all, and will check back to see of your weekends.
    Love and licks,
    Ruby

  • Hi F,S,&GK+ Glue Squad, Sweet, beautiful Francesca, you are so much healthier and being able to wrestle with big GK is marvelous to see! I sure would love to be there and wrestle with all of you buddies! GK is such a great big brother for you sweethearts to have! Sharkey, have you ever wrestled with GK?! You sure are having nice weather! We have been having lots of rain lately and I haven't taken any walks with Mom-darn! Have a great day, my 3 buddies!!! Maddox, hope you had a nice nap on the deck! Zoe, sure glad that T-Bone is so nice to you and glad you had a great weekend! Malcolm, it was nice to hear from you! Ruby, so glad you had such a fun weekend! • Hello Everyone - I think that GK is just being very nice, I know that he could sit on you both and that would be his bulldog press. I often try and put the moves on Lucy, she often puts up with me for a while, but if she thinks I'm after her frisbee she gets major ugly with me and starts chasing me in earnest. Often she still catches me and nips, and then I yip and Mom calls time out! This weekend was great, we were outside all day cleaning up the yard, sunning ourselves and just being! I, Riley am proud to report that I did the following naughty things (all when Mom was outside with me) - I dug a ginormous hole in the side yard, nearly dug the little beech tree right out, I rearranged the spotlights that Mom just put into the garden 3 times! Once I even squeezed through the fence to bring them into the back yard. I shredded a newspaper into bits (plastic bag and all), I took the plastic dog water bowl and chewed it up and if that wasn't enough I then ate something that didn't agree with me, pooped through the eye of a needle and had to have a bath to get my backside clean. What a weekend for young boy dogs! Mom was a little perturbed at me, something about why she thought we ever needed a third dog ...... but I know that she still loves me - I'll try to be better but things just seem to happen to me, can't help it. Martha and Lucy seem to want to distance themselves from me when I'm in maniac mode, can't think why. Well gotta go now, its lovely outside again and the dirt is singing to me ..... Love Riley, Martha and Lucy girl.

  • Friday night at the fights! :)

What a fun and playful blog entry today.

I think GK was playing possum in the beginning and then got into the fun of it.

My favorite was the full nelson! :)

I love the Daily Wag and all the farmland critters! :)

  • Good morning all!
Wow, some wrestling match..go girls go! G.K. didn't exactly look annoyed...actually, I think he liked the attention.
Had a great weekend...it was Papa's birthday weekend & we had surprise company on Saturday & the fam on Sunday. The weather was great and we went on 4 walks! I like the smell of fresh dirt, too.
Mr. & Mrs. Mallard have moved in for the summer, bet there will be ducklings...yea! love the ducks.
    Have a great day everybody.
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • Hello everyone again,
I am soooo sorry to Rebel's Papa to not have wished him a Happy Birthday. I will party today for you, ok? And Riley, we are on the same wavelength---the nice soft dirt is calling, Ruby, come to me, dig me up, quick come before someone sees us!! Better go do that.
    Love and licks,
    Ruby

  • So Franny where is your WWW Belt...those were great moves!! :-) GK looks so smoochie, I just want to bury my face in that fur...I know I always say that but it's just too inviting.
James Dean I have to tell you Kitty is cheating on you, there is an unaltered male that comes around and actually want to play with Kitty, they went nose to nose and he was submissive by lying down cleaning and purring...that's unusual for a strange cat to do that. So now she is always crying to go out to see if he is visiting, he actually tries to get into the house. I just hope she doesn't follow him home to wherever he lives, that is if he has a home.

So everyone here at this time Maddox, Zoe, Malcolm, Ruby, Dudley Do Right, Rebel, Riley, Martha and Lucy girl have a great day...and the rest of you as well!
    :-) :-)

  • G.K. the Gentle Lion Bear. In the third photo he looks like he knows something is up and is trying to decide what to do. So cute.

Rebel I'm happy that your Papa had a great Birthday, sound like so much fun. Riley you are such a little stinker.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

  • Cute blog again today!!!

  • See, people always think little dogs can't handle big dogs, but if you've ever heard of glass jaws you'll know it is often just a matter of finesse. Good work, Francesca Baby.
We celebrated a very important occasion today-- Roxy graduated from her second obedience class. She takes it at a local PetSmart, and today she showed off the picture of Miss Martha, Francesca Baby, Sharkey, and GK to her classmates, who were suitably impressed. We are very proud that she has done so well in class. Mom wants her to get her CGC so she can have little kids read to her, just like Mom reads to puppies at the Humane Society.
Oh! So if you guys don't hear from me for a while it will be because we are headed to Camp Dave tomorrow so that Mom and Dad can go to New Orleans and visit their restaurant, listen to music, and enjoy much warmer than here weather. Everybody be good!
    A bientot!!
