Planting New Arborvitae Trees
Posted by F&S
When Hurricane Sandy blew through last October, she took down about 150 stately trees on the farm. So much cleanup has been going on and now that spring is here, some new trees are being planted. You can read all about it on Martha's blog today. You know how much we Frenchies love to be involved with everything that goes on at the farm.
Sharkey, let's go to the greenhouse and see what all the commotion is about.
Francesca, I do believe there is a tree-planting project taking place.
Do you remember the five 'Degroot's Spire arborvitae that Martha bought recently? She wants to cover up the sawed off white pines that came down in Hurricane Sandy.
Chhiring, we'll be happy to help you pick up a tree with this Hi-Lo.
Sharkey, don't you just love handling heavy machinery?
OK, Chhiring, you can lower the tree right here in this spot.
Chhewang, I think it needs to go a little in that direction. Ah, yes - perfect!
Pete, it's always great to see you. These trees look quite good in this spot. Franny and I will come back later to check on things.
Sharkey, that was a really nice nap. Let's go back to the greenhouse and check the progress.
Sharkey, this is amazing!
You're right, Franny. I hardly recognize this area.
Martha had a very good idea to plant these trees here. Now, let's supervise to make sure they get plenty of water.
