More About Swapping the Gardens
Posted by F&S
Wednesday's blog was all about the old vegetable garden and how it's going to be swapped with, what has been, the cutting garden. We Frenchies decided to cruise down to that garden and check on the progress. This swapping of gardens is quite a production!
1 So many of you Glue Squad members enjoyed my portrait on Wednesday's blog, I thought I would post another angle. Say, Francesca, let's drive down to what has been the cutting garden and see what's going on.
2 The cutting garden is right next to the chicken coop.
3 Hey cluckers! There will be some big changes going on around here.
4 I am standing in the old cutting garden, soon to be the new vegetable garden. I guess you won't be pecking around in here anymore.
5 Ryan and the guys have been really busy digging up all of the lily bulbs so they can be transplanted in the new cutting garden, which is the old vegetable garden. Ryan seems to have found some weed mesh barrier buried quite deeply.
6 They use a garden fork to dig down for the lily bulbs.
7 They're putting all the bulbs from each bed in separate bins.
8 This way, the new garden will, hopefully, have organized beds with like varieties.
9 Those lily bulbs are quite large. I can't wait to see how they grow in their new home!
10 Ryan is taking good care of the bulbs by covering them over so they don't get scorched by the sun before they can be transplanted. I can almost smell how fragrant the flowers will be.
