Matt Lauer's Visit to the Farm

Posted by Francesca

Martha's blog today is all about Matt Lauer, the co-host of NBC's The Today Show, and his most recent visit to the farm.  Martha is promoting her new book, Living the Good Long Life: A Practical Guide to Caring for Yourself and Others, so of course, that's what she and Matt discussed.  Whenever visitors come, I love to be right in the middle of things, but Sharkey, not so much.

Co-host, Matt Lauer, came to the farm to talk to Martha about her latest book, Living the Good Long Life: A Practical Guide to Caring for Yourself and Others. Trust me - it's a very good and important read.

  • Aw, I like the family photo! It's okay if Sharkey is squinting, maybe the sun was too bright!

I bought Martha's new book last Tuesday! :)

I think a book about Martha's critters, all of them, donks included would be splendid.

It reached 70 yesterday in NH! Thank you Mother Nature! :)

    Have a wonderful day..

  • Good morning everyone,
Francesca, I think Sharkey would rather be on the production side of things. Karen said she was really interested in the I Pad. I bet she would like one to carry around the farm to work on various projects. That is more her style. However, she is a very friendly girl.
Hey, don't forget Martha will be on the Today show again today. I hope she finds Mr. Right. I think we should help with a list of things that the Glue Squad is looking for in the future boy friend. My thing would be "must LOVE animals".
Ok, Zoe, you were good while mom and dad were away? Why? Tell Chloe Happy Belated Birthday. And tell her that Glue Squad members post on a regular basis. Hint hint
Kirby, we are having the storms now. Hey, how are you and the cat getting along? Ruby, you better hide the day of the garage sale just in case a price tag accidentally falls on you. I would hate for your landscaping business to be moved to a different location because you have so much more digging to do where you live now. Rebel the worm eater, who knew. I can just picture you throwing the worm around and jumping at it like Sequoia does with her biscuits. So many gardener s, Dudley picks weeds and Missy Chow plants flowers. Good job peeps. Abby, you party animal, was James Dean partying too? Delia, put your big girl pants on and deal with the MRI. Just think of something else when you go in the machine. I know, think of Kitty and how she will probably invite her new feline friend in the house for brunch while you are away. Hehehehehehehe
Well, no deck time this morning. Rain. But we have the Today show on waiting for Martha so I will be in front of the TV set this morning.
    Love to all,
    Maddox

  • Good Morning F & S

Looks like you had a fun day with Martha and Matt. I would love to ride on one of those tractors. Do you think you could invite me and mom up for a play date and take me out for a ride?

It rained all day yesterday so I'm hoping the sun comes out today so I can get some deck time. But I must say that rain sure does make everything green and it looks so pretty.

Well I need to go wake up dad now. Have a great day!

  • Hey ladies,
We did not see yesterday's show. Mimi is DVRing todays though. We're at the office & miss out on this stuff. I think you gals looked great! Martha sure looks comfortable on that tractor. Mimi says never mess with a girl and her machines.
I found out what happened to my friend Erroll. He was a big guy and his back legs gave out. There was no help, not even the Docs at the U of I school of Vet Med had any answers. So, they had to put him to sleep. I look for him everyday. I miss him.
    Happy belated birthday to Chloe.
    Have a great day everybody.
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • Hello Girls, G.K. & Glue Squad Buddies,
This Today Show is a mighty fine thing. We saw you girls in the background yesterday. I wish they would do interviews with you. Then they would hear what is going on at the farm. So Sharkey, you liked Karen's IPad thing. Very techno savy you girls are indeed. I am preparing my duck pond for the rubber ducks and excavating a bit more today, as snow is predicted, 4-7 inches tomorrow. Does that mean 2 walks today to make up for tomorrow's none? Mama Delia, my Mom says those MRI's can be scary, but better to get it done and know your brain is good, than a problemo, right? Abby that was so exciting going to the Auntie's birthday party. See, there is an advantage to being smaller sometimes. Big girls like me, can never just slip in to a party. Rebel, worms, are they good? Riley, Lucy and Martha, so glad about your family getting a new house.Dudley, we are having similar weather. Baby Favor is Mom back from the dog shows yet? And Jake and Molly are you at the spa? Kitty and James Dean, you need to tell me how to scare off woodpeckers. I have a pest at my house.Missy, glad you are getting some deck time and Zoe too.Did your Mom ever figure out what was in the garage stealing cat food? Best get going to watch Mama Martha on the Today Show. Wouldn't it be fun to have a Glue Squad party at your farm Franny and Sharkey. Well, I can dream can't I? Have a GEM of a day all.
    Love & licks,
    Ruby

  • Hi F,S,&GK+ Glue Squad, Dearest Francesca, you, Sharkey, and GK are so cute in everyone of these marvelous photos! I am inspired by you running this blog and showing us your wonderful Mom, Martha and Matt Lauer plus the Today Show crew, also! My favorite photo was #10 with the 3 of you buddies and gorgeous Martha! My Mom loved it all and really enjoyed seeing and reading Martha's blog again this morning! Sure hope you have another great day and I'm sending hugs to all of you! Gail, how fun that you got up to 70 with no more snow! It's in the 40s & 50s here today and getting up to 70 by the weekend! Hey, Sweet Chloe, hope you had a great birthday yesterday! Maddox, love your comments again today and you're such a great Dad for GK and so kind to all of us! Zoe, I would love to go to the Bedford farm and see all of our buddies, too! That would be so much fun! Hope to hear from the rest of you today! I'm very worried about Cora-Belle! Have a great day everyone! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Hello all!

Yes to the Glue Squad party. I'm always up for a shindig!

Oh Sharkey, you are a coy one, pretending you don't like to be on camera. I suspect you are holding out for your own show!

Have a great day everyone. Try not to eat your people's shoes or phones - they really don't like that!

    Serena

  • What an Adorable Photo with all of you together, every one of you looks so sweet! :-)

A Belated Happy Birthday Wish to Chloe! A Welcome Back to Zoe!

Maddox I put my big girls pants on and was blessed by having an angel of a nurse, I learned she lived in my neighborhood...she and my hubby really put me to ease. The machine was the larger newer one...but honestly, they send men to the moon and they can't make this a quiet event? Wow I thought I'd loose my hearing :-(
Anyway all is done, plus they injected me with some dye and did another MRI for only 10 minutes.
Hope and Pray all will be OK
Hubby went golfing and I will clean house.

    Hugs,
    delia & Kitty =^. .^=

  • Franny you look like you are saying, "Mr DeMille, I'm ready for my close up!" Sharkey, "Wake me up when its over!" G.K. comes in at just the right time.

Happy Belated Birthday Chloe! I hope you had a wonderful day of treats and belly rubs.
