Earth Day Reflections...
Posted by Pia
Given that this week celebrates Earth Day and all things related to the wonders of nature... I thought it fitting to give our fellow creatures a chance to share some favorite quotes on the topic...
1 Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet, and the winds long to play with your hair.
- Kahlil Gibran
2 “Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
3 When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.
-- John Muir
4 Constant kindness can accomplish much. As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate. - Albert Schweitzer
5 There is a great need for the introduction of new values in our society, where bigger is not necessarily better, where slower can be faster, and where less can be more.
-- Gaylord Nelson
6 “I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority.”
― E.B. White, Letters of E. B. White
7 That best portion of a man's life, his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.
- William Wordsworth
8 The earth is what we all have in common.
-- Wendell Berry
9 Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for a kindness. - Lucius Annaeus Seneca
10 Kindness is the sunshine in which virtue grows.
Robert Green Ingersoll
11 “Love the trees until their leaves fall off, then encourage them to try again next year.”
― Chad Sugg
Here's to Mother Earth and all of her amazing creations! May each and every creature be afforded the respect and protection he/she inherently deserves.
