A Lazy Spring Day on The Terrace

Posted by F&S

The weather has finally turned warm in our neck of the woods and we Frenchies were enjoying our time spent outdoors on the terrace.  As you know, we are always curious about the goings on at the farm and apparently, someone else is, too!

Hi Gyurme, what are you doing here in the shadow of the house?

1 Hi Gyurme, what are you doing here in the shadow of the house?

Judging from what's in your bucket, It looks like you're pulling weeds and unwanted grass from between the stones of the terrace.

That's quite a large clump of grass you're working on. I see you're using that special tool called a dandelion weeder.

Even though its dual-pointed tip is perfect for pulling the long tap roots of dandelions, this narrow tool is also perfect for working in tight spaces like these.

I also see that after you pull a clump of grass or a weed, you're careful to push back the beautiful moss and creeping thyme that's supposed to grow between the stones.

Sharkey, while you teach us all about proper weeding methods, I'll just stretch out on these warm stones. Ahhh!!!

Oh, well - Vivaldi can take over the supervising post for now. I feel a little nap coming on.

  • Hello ladies,
That looks like a lot of work but I bet it looks spectacular when it is done. Good job Gyume, good job! Well, what did everyone do over the weekend? We had nice weather. A lot of work got done on the kennel. Karen went to visit the farm. She said my boy, the fabulous GK, looked so beautiful. He was happy to see her. She said his coat looks amazing and he is maturing nicely. That's my boy. And she said Sharkey and Francesca were cute and playful as usual. Sharkey took a real interest in her I pad. But then why wouldn't she? She is a high tech guru. Karen said the farm is so alive with color, it was stunning. Wish she would have taken me instead of Sequoia the heathen. Hehehehehehe
Well Glue Squad, what did everyone do this past weekend?????? I hope Cora Belle posts today. I am very concerned about her
    Love to all,
    Maddox

  • Good Morning F & S

I sure did miss everyone at the DW and I'm so happy mom and dad are back :) My mom spent yesterday weeding as well, those things grow so fast she said it could be a 24/7 job - just weeding.

I had a wonderful weekend, mom and dad came home Friday night and we spent the entire weekend out in the yard it was beautiful. I love how the warm sun feels I just laid out there for hours.

And I know where I get my TP issues from - MOM. She has this thing about how the TP is placed on the roll. Super Nanny has the paper under and mom likes it on top. Can you believe she went and changed all the rolls? Now that is a woman with a problem ;)

We were all well behaved for SP. Well mom has to leave for work - early day she needs to catch up.

    Have a good day!!!
    Zoe

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
It looks as if the work on the farm never ends. It seems that you two are always planting something new or removing the unwanted. Now I ask you, where is GK during all this work? Don’t answer that one. I know how lazy Chows can be and I’ll bet he had a nice cool spot in the house and was napping. I do that often except yesterday evening. Boy did it storm here. It was flash bang for a while. The thunder was so loud that the windows shook and rattled. There was no place to hide for this little boy. Every where I went it followed me; chased me all over the house. It was raining so hard that I didn’t get in my walk last night before bedtime. It slowed down a little and I got a quick trip to the “pole” anyway.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Welcome back Zoe. I am so glad for you that you had a great weekend with your parents.
Hey, did anyone catch Martha on the Today show this morning? She will be on again tomorrow. She is looking for a date. Maybe one of the Glue Squad members had a relative that she might want to go on a date with, eh?

  • Hello Girls & Glue Squad Buddies,
Girls you like to do what I do---I would lay on the grass however, sun myself, and then go inside and cool down. I did this on and off all weekend. Good to take a nap Sharkey and Franny and let the cats supervise for awhile. I am doing great with the landscape business. Even started excavating for a duck pond over the weekend. Rubber ducks that is--it cracked Mom and Dad up seeing my duck toys placed in the pond. I know they like water. It was 79 here yesterday and snow Wednesday. We need the moisture--better late than never. Maddox, good to hear your boy is doing well. There was never a doubt. Can hardly wait for the magazine with Wu-Tang on it--be sure and keep us posted so I can have Mom get a copy. Lots of cleaning and organizing here. Mom and Dad are getting ready for a garage sale in a few weeks and ladies coming for cards before Mother's Day. What is that? I am glad Zoe that you are back. Hope all the vacationers are back too. Zoe, be sure and tell cousin Chloe Happy Birthday #2. Hoping she will join in again soon. Have a GEM of a day all.
    Love and licks,
    Ruby

  • Good morning ladies & Vivaldi,
Now, that's how I work around the yard. Find a good warm sunny spot & take a snooze. Well, unless I find a cicada to dig up & eat. Nothing like a little extra protein. I love my worms, too!
Hi, Zoe! Glad you were a good girl for SP. Our toilet paper goes all different ways. Some up & some down.
Our company is gone, house is quiet...so nice.
    Have a great day everybody.
    Your pal,
Rebel Cora Belle, where are you?

  • Hi F,S,&GK+ Glue Squad, How fun to see you two beautiful girls enjoying being out on the terrace with such nice, warm weather finally!! Taking a nap out there sure would be fun and I would love it, too! Seeing wonderful Gyurme and Vivaldi on the patio was so much fun, also! Vivaldi looked so happy and I would love to be close to him, also! This is just a relaxing blog today and I love it! Please give our buddy GK another hug for me! Have a great day! So nice to hear from Maddox, Zoe, Kirby, and Ruby this morning and hope to hear from many more later! Maddox, how fun to hear that Karen went to Martha's farm yesterday and had so much fun! Hope to see some of those photos! Zoe, so happy to hear from you finally and so glad you had fun being outside with Mom, again! Kirby, that thunder storm must have been awful! We had lots of wind and a little rain this weekend, but I went outside any way to help Mom pick weeds! Ruby, your weather is sort of like ours by changing everyday from nice and warm to rain and wind here, but we don't get snow! Have fun sweetheart! Have a great day buddies! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • That's so sweet! Just a quick note here, I never went to the MRI once because of conflicting events and the second time I couldn't do it since it is a full body machine(funny just for your head)I have to be in there 45 min :-( and I have claustrophobia! I got some meds so tonight will go and have it done...I just hope I don't panic.
Kitty has been outside wandering, but the Crows are keeping an eye on her, they are relentless.

    Have a great day everyone!
    delia & Kitty =^. .^=

  • Hello VIVALDI,Sharkey,Franny and all my glue squad buddies,
So nice to see Vivaldi again, Jimmy was so happy to see a feline in action today! Sharkey and Franny have the right idea, I like to supervise Mom working down in the vegetable garden on the rabbit proofing fence and weeding. Lots of weeds to pull out. We have tiny baby radishes and two pea plants coming up! very exciting!
Zoe, I went to Hillsdale,NJ yesterday to a family party! I got to see many nice people and even got fed a few pieces of yummy ham. Boy, that was fun!
Maddox, so nice that Karen got to visit the farm and handsome G.K., like father like son!
Rebel, do you really like cicadas??? Kirby, you must be brave during those thunder storms. Ruby, did you dig a duck pond? Hope missy Chow had fun up in Boston this weekend with the sunshine. Today there is rain to water all the plants. Jimmy sends his hello to Kitty too and purrrrrs.
I am tired from all that partying. Hugs to Dudley.
    Abby the pug/peke/frenchie.

  • Darn kitty cats always horn in, huh! :)

Moss in between stones is simply beautiful!

Spring is in full bloom here in NH! It reached 70 on Sunday! Though, no rain is in sight which creates a worry for fires.

I wish I had a stone slab to sun bathe on! :)

    Happy Monday to all!
    gail
