Where Did The Honeybees Go?
Posted by F&S
Walking past the car port the other day, we were quite surprised to see that the beehives were in there. Beehives are supposed to be outdoors near flowers. After investigating, we were quite concerned by what we found.
1 Sharkey, why do you think the bee hives are sitting in the car port and not out in the field where they are supposed to be?
2 Franny, listen carefully - do you hear any buzzing?
3 This is all very mysterious and I have to say that I am quite concerned. Honeybees have so many problems lately.
4 Bees have been dying from parasitic mites and there's also something called colony collapse disorder, where they just abandon the hive.
5 Sharkey, I don't hear anything coming from any of these hives.
6 I'll be brave and push off the lid.
7 You're right, Franny, no bees in here.
8 And no bees in here, either. I guess the hives are here so that they can be cleaned up and made ready for new colonies of bees. What a darn shame. I wonder why they left and where they went?
