What's Sprouting in the Greenhouse?

Posted by Sharkey

We dogs were out for a walk when Franny ran ahead and dashed into the greenhouse.  GK and I caught up to her and found that she was quite engrossed, staring at the growing tables.

Foxglove are very pretty flowers, but I believe they're biennials, which means they won't flower until next year. We'll just have to be patient.

For the life of me, I just don't understand what this does for those cats. I get nothing from smelling it. Although, sitting on this heated growing mat feels pretty darn good.

  • Good morning,
Franny, if you ran ahead of GK with his long legs, you must be feeling great again. I am happy about that. All those plants, wow. That is Lots of work but you will reap the rewards because there is something so good about fresh veggies. March 1st already. And the end of the DW week already. What does everyone have planned for the weekend? I plan a little deck time, maybe try making some biscuits on the grill, stuff like that. Karen has some dog's coming in for boarding, Chows no less, so that will be fun. I guess I will go back to bed and wait for everyone to check in for the day.
    Love to all,
    Maddox

  • Happy March! We made it!

Looking at those cute sprout-lets makes me think Spring isn't too far off. I love greenery!

Great to see Frannie bumping around! :) I'm guessing her neck ailment is completely healed.

Hugs to all and have a wonderful weekend..

  • Hi F,S,&GK+ Glue Squad, The three of you look so great today and I am so happy to finally see GK in photo #1!!! You must have had a great time in that greenhouse seeing all of those beautiful vegetable sprouts and I wish we had a greenhouse like that to plant ahead! Francesca, you must be completely healed since you are now running and your neck looks better! Sure hope the 3 of you have a great weekend!!! Cora-Belle, you sure do sound like you feel better and hope you are having nice weather! It's 54 here near Puget Sound already and could be 60 degrees today! Is it that warm there?! Maddox, hope you and Karen have a great weekend with those extra Chows boarding there!! Gail, did your snow go away! Sure hope it gets warmer where you are! Zoe, sure hope you and your Dad have a nice weekend together and hope Mom is back soon! Will check back later to read more of your comments! Hope all of you buddies have a great weekend! Ruby, did your Dad get back home yet and did you get some delicious fish?! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Hello Girls & Glue Squad Buddies,
So good to hear from Cora Belle bright and early. You and Kirby could make the remake of "Singing In the Rain." It is supposed to be in the 50's this weekend here. Love seeing your greenhouse. Wow and double wow, your farm must be huge to house all those plants. Mom and Dad only have a few things, but it does need a chainlink Ruby fence. Dad will put that up from the new wooden fence he took down. Dad says I must get better at eating veggies with the garden this summer. Still out on that one! So Zoe, Mom is leaving for golfing. I can't get over our parents taking time to be away from us on purpose, to catch fish and chase golfballs. Really!!! Dad is home and I am happy. Trout is in the works for Ruby this weekend. Do you think I can make it a TROUT PARTY? Hope everyone has a GEM of a weekend and I will check back later.
    Love & licks,
    Ruby

  • Good morning all,
It's so nice to say "all" that means Frannie is out & about once again! Yeah!
Soooo many vegetables, I say yuk, Mimi says fantastic! She would love to watch the cauliflower grow. She dropped a spinach leaf this morning & I jumped on it. I chewed & spit it out & tried again & spit it out. Finally Mimi said that's enough & threw it away. It was a slimy mess, but I just couldn't swallow.
It is so nice to hear from you, Cora Belle. You are doing a great job keeping the yard clear of critters!
It's cloudy, low 30's & snow flurries. Not too bad for little ones like me, but I sure do like sitting on the chair with one of the folks & warming up.
I see a fire in the fireplace and watching golf for the weekend.
    Til Monday.
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
March first and the sky is blue but the air is a little nippy. Guess this is the “lamb” coming into March; “lion” going out? Or is that one of those old wives tails? Whatever it is, I’m ready for it. Now to just get through the day without getting a shot; vet visit today. Now for some good news: . . . . . . . Can’t think of any right now so we’ll move right on to the sports. Here is a partial score hot off of the net: Chows 4. I said it was a partial score didn’t I? I know that’s an old one but worth telling again, and again, and again; alright enough. Have a good, and safe, weekend all.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hello Francesca,Sharkey and G.K., and all my glue squad buddies,
Here's hoping those little seedlings grow into beautiful plants. Its great to see you Franny running and leading the others in adventures.
March is here glue squad buddies! We made it, starting to feel like spring!
Soon it will be near the wearing of the green day, we love St.Pat's day here. Mom is wearing green scrubs to work this month, very seasonal.
Lots to do this weekend, we will be thinking about our dear Zoe and her t.p. crafts,Rebel and chasing ducks, Kirby and traveling adventures, Ruby and butt vrooming, Cora belle and her river bonfire parties, Maddox contemplating life, Sweet Dudley, Adventurous Kitty and all my friends. Abby says hello to missy Chow up in New England, land of chowder.
    Enjoy and purrrrs- James Dean

  • March 1! Or as Mom likes to call it, Februrary, Part 2. Because we live near a Great big Lake, our weather doesn't seem like spring until at least April, and sometimes May. I don't know why the Great big Lake has anything to do with it, but it does. We have more snow on the ground right now than we've had for a long time. I think that's why I like all the greenhouse stories that Francesca Baby and the other tell. Have a good weekend everyone!
    A bientot!

  • Hi F & S and GK, great to see all of you checking out the greenhouse. Bet it's nice and toasty in there. All those veggies, yes, catnip, well, the kitties do need something too. Well, it's Friday and March 1st, yeah!!! Mom saw some shoots popping up around her office yesterday, Spring is coming. It's now a little cloudy but temps in the mid 40's, snow is melting..Life is good!! Kirby, don't feel bad, I have to go to the vet's tomorrow for a couple oowies. Hope they are quick about it, no extra poking is really needed, :) Ruby, bet you are so happy to see Dad home. Maddox, keep an eye on the weekend boarders, I'm sure they will fun with you & Karen. Zoe, I know you will have a fun with Nicole and any cheese curls that get dropped. DudleyDo Right, sounds like you have some nice ouotside weather today. Rebel, spinach, never tried it. Cora Belle, happy to hear you are feeling better, don't over do. Hi Abby, James Dean, Kitty and all my other GS buddies. Have a great weekend, No snow predicted for our area either.

    Till next time,
    Missy Chow
    xoxo
