Fanfare For Fur Kids

Volunteering to snap great photos is a super way to help the loyal souls in your local shelter, get seen and saved by a loving adopter. Notable fashion photographer and animal advocate, Richard Phibbs regularly donates his valuable time to spotlight those most in need of a great head shot...

Shelby - Adult Female Chihuahua Mix
Born in 2008, Miss Shelby is a cuddle bug for sure. All she wants to do is lay by your side and send you love beams from her sweet eyes. This damsel is a little on the shy side, so she scares rather easily - but she's working on that and coming along beautifully. (See link in post)

The fabulous folks at The Humane Society of New York are always thrilled to work with Richard and his talented crew. All hands are on deck to help showcase the unique qualities of these adoptable little treasures!

But you need not be a Phibbs-caliber-photographer or paparazzi to step up and help shelter animals in creative ways. Anyone with a soft spot for critters and an email address, Twitter account , website or Facebook page can help with just a click!

These wonderful animals need to be seen in order to be saved- and they need our help to do this!
Let's all step up and get the fur kids in shelters the fanfare they deserve!

  • Hello Dr. Pia & Glue Squad Buddies,
All these friends look like such good kids. I know what they are going through and I hope and pray they get loving and patient families like I was lucky enough to now have. I must go, as I am busy preparing for a big snow this weekend. They are saying 7-12 inches. Yahoooooooo---snow party in the works. Have a GEM of a day.
    Love & licks,
    Ruby

  • Oh boy Dr Pia,
You sure know how to let folks know about some great friends that need a home. I wish Shelby could come to my house. I have a new habit, I've decided this week that I just have to go outside at 1 am to do a duty. Mimi walked me before bedtime & she was disappointed when I did not produce a #2. We were out again at 1:19 am (she told what the clock said). I hurried, but I saw my crate being set up this morning. At least I don't doodle on the carpet or dining room chair legs anymore.
Hi to all Glue Squaders, have a great day.
    Your pal,
    Rebel
p.s. Just in case, Kirby Bear, take it easy tomorrow, you'll be fine.

  • Thank you Dr.Pia,
It is so important to remember our stray and rescue pet friends. I was a rescue cat too, once and was adopted to Mom who fell in love at first sight. I was very thin, starved and had almost no hair, wounds on my neck and ears, looked quite a sight but was dumped in a cage with three tiny boy kittens. Sometimes it takes foresight to see how every pet can be a wonderful forever friend given a chance.
Kirby Bear, we wish you a safe procedure tomorrow and fast recovery!
Rebel, good job remembering Kirby Bear. Missy Chow is getting ready with Abby for wearing some green on St. Pat's day. Anybody else gearing up??? I might wear a green collar. We saw some nice recipes on Martha's website too.
Sputtering snow flurries here, may get several inches tonight. Be safe everyone in the path of this Nor'easter. Miss you Zoe.
James Byron Dean the persian cat boy

  • Hi Dr. Pia and Minnow, Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful photos of these sweet babies who need, and I hope will get, great people who will love them just like my Mom does! I love being my Mom's only baby, but I know many others love to have partners just like Minnow, Maddox, Abby, etc. do also! Everyone of these sweethearts look so great and the happiest one is Charley! Thanks again for sharing and have a great weekend! I haven't seen any other comments yet so will check back later! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO
