Posted by F&S

Snow, snow go away!  We want spring to come and stay!  We went to visit the horses just before it started to snow really heavily the other day.  Check out Martha's blog.

Egads! It's snowing again! When will winter finally be over?

I have an idea. Before the snow gets too deep, let's visit the horses down in the stable.

That's a swell idea, Sharkey! I'll race you there!

Whew! That was a good sprint, but now I have to catch my breath!

Let's be really, really careful walking around the large feet of the Friesians, if you know what I mean.

Betsy is busy vacuuming Meindert. He certainly looks like he enjoys his grooming.

So Betsy, I see that horse vacuums are great grooming tools, as they allow you to quickly and easily remove dirt from the coat. I've seen the Friesians rolling in their paddocks. They must get quite muddy.

Hi Dolma, you are expertly using the curry comb on Rinze. I've heard that these tools are important to clean the horse and improve the health of the skin and coat. It's a good idea since these big boys like to roll in the mud.

Say Sharkey - What do you say we go back home now and try not to roll in anything that will cause us to get a bath? Deal?

  • Hello Girls & Glue Squad Buddies,
This is soooo fun to meet the rest of your family Franny and Sharkey. My favorite photo is #8, where you are on a stool away from the powerful feet. The horses are very well mannered, and don't cause a bit of trouble during their grooming---better than one Ruby girl. I let Mom and Dad brush me now, so I am getting better.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. The snow came, I saw and conquered. Now it is almost melted. It was fun though, but mudville now.

I had great fun getting the info from the e-mail I sent out on everyones birthdays. Now Cora Belle, I know you are 17, but you aren't on the e-mail list. I wish you were, so much, so I could send you my photos when you are resting. You wouldn't have to answer even, just knowing you love me. So Cora Belle, Jake and Molly, since you are not on the e-mail list yet(you can send me your e-mail and I will forward it on to Ann, Zoe's Mom who is Maddox's secretary---please, please, it is so fun to send photos, wlswswallace@comcast.net) please let us at least know your birthday and ages---officially. I am a great party gal and love birthdays, so Meg, Missy Chow's Mom and I are getting the birthday list together and she is making a spreadsheet like Zoe's Mom did of the Glue Squad. You see you are all so special to me, I want to party big time for you all!!! Can hardly wait to hear about your weekends, Kirby's surgery and of course the tales of Zoe's T.P. adventures while Mom was gone.

Have a GEM of a day.
    Love & licks,
    Ruby

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I’m glad that the horses like the vacuum being used on them; I run away from it every time I hear it running. I wouldn’t want that thing to suck me up into that bag which gets thrown into the trash. Well every thing went just fine at the vet’s. They removed the small cancer and didn’t find anything in the skin around it. That should mean that it wasn’t into my blood which could take it throughout my whole body. All the stitches are in the inside so I shouldn’t have to go back for a while. Now if the hair doesn’t itch too bad when it comes back in. Don’t you just hate that feeling?
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Good Morning F & S and all my Glue Squad Bud's

F & S you better be careful around those horses one little kick and you'll be at the Vet!!! I saw the pictures of all the snow YUK. We got lucky just a few inches on Friday but it's all gone now.

I'm so happy Mom is home :) We only had one issue while she was gone. Dad was taking us out back and I decided I wanted to bite T-Bone's neck as he was going out the door and all hell broke loose! T-Bone and I got into a spat, Sophie and Precious were barking like crazy and Dad tried to break us up. Well his arm got in the way and he got a little nip from me by accident. I felt really bad because it was meant for T-Bone. I got a time out :( Oh and the TP was off limits, Dad kept all the bathroom doors closed so he wouldn't have to clean up any mess - he is learning ;)

What a wonderful weekend I spent lots of time outside with Mom we were working in the yard. We planted our beets and did some weeding.

Today the new heater arrives for the pool so I'll be supervising that job. Have a great day!!!

    Zoe

  • Hello ladies,
I have to say that I think the first photo in today's blog should be made into a big poster. That is hilarious. It is saying YUK loud and clear and you look so cute doing it. Hehehehehehe
Martha's horses are so beautiful. I guess I should say handsome. Betsy must love her job. Karen said she is a very nice person.
Well Kirby, you have good news. I am very happy for you buddy. Hope you are up and about real soon.
Ok Glue Squad, what went on with all of you over the weekend? Can't wait to hear
    Love to all,
    Maddox

  • Hello Everyone - Snow, snow go away, we need the nice weather again! Riley here and I have to tell you about our weekend. We had a spectacular weekend around the Great Lakes region. Saturday was sunny and warmish, Sunday was even better! The only problem is now the backyard is muckville (not that it bothers us one little bit!). We went walking both mornings (all three of us), we went for a car ride to buy dog food and kitty litter (why can't they just poop outside like us?) and we went for another big walk on Sunday morning. It was wonderful to get out, not cold, but also not so hot we felt lethargic. Glad Kirby Bear's vet visit went well and that they got everything they needed to, that must be a big worry off everyone's minds. Zoe, I know exactly how it is when everyone is trying to pile out the door at once, stuff happens. Lucy always needs to be first out the door and while there are only three of us, she often gets real snappy if I'm right behind her pushing. I guess I'm a lot pushy, cause I'm a boy and I'm trying to take over the alpha male spot in the pack. When we went in the car I decided that I should sit in the front seat, not Lucy. I just parked myself beside her, then I laid down and then she went in the back with Martha. Did it make me feel bad, no way, I think it's just the way I am. Anyways, she got in the front on the way home and I stayed in the back, so maybe we'll just share from now on. Martha is happy to be in the back, Mom says she's like a baby in the car, it puts her to sleep!
Well, gotta go, raining like stink up here this morning, supposed to get much more by the end of today, but hey, at least its not snow!
Love to everyone, Beardie bounces to all. Riley (devil dog), Lucy and Martha too!

  • Hi F,S,&GK+ Glue Squad, You sweet girls look a bit tired having more snow coming again! How fun it must have been to go to the stable again to see the horses and they looked great being cleaned by Betsy and Dolma! Francesca, you looked a bit tired running to the stable and I hope you are OK now! Please say Hi to GK again! My Mom read Martha's latest great blog and loved all of the photos again! Dearest Ruby, we were so happy to get that email about the birthday of most of our Glue Squad group and we thank you so much! Our weather was beautiful on Saturday and it rained on Sunday! We got to go shopping at Costco on Sunday and I got a great walk around the outside! Kirby, so glad your trip to the vet was great and hope you are feeling better with no itching now! Zoe, so glad to hear from you and glad your Mom is back home! Sorry you had a fight with T Bone and hope both of you are OK now! Sorry your Dad got bit, too! Maddox, hope you had a good weekend, also! Riley, Lucy, and Martha, sounds like you had a great weekend with no snow and got to go places in the car! We don't have snow but will have rain all week! Hope to hear from the rest of you buddies later! Have a great day again! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Hi Gals!
I agree about the snow, I'm ready for Spring. The horses are soooo big! You two are experts around the farm animals and you'd never try to sniff a horse hoof or anything dangerous like that.
Hey, Kirby! Boy, am I glad that you're o.k.!
Sounds like everybody had great weekends.
There is something new in our little lake, somebody put a light out there to disturb the geese at night so they won't nest. I'm not so sure about that. I guess the geese do make an awful mess. I've been told that the ducks don't mind the light, sure hope that's true 'cause I love my ducks. It's getting warmer here, but muddy. Time for the March winds to blow and dry up the puddles!
    Have a great day everybody.
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • Hi Francesca,Sharkey,Betsy,Rebel,Ruby,Kirby Bear, ZOE, and all my glue squad buddies-
Loved the expression on your face Sharkey in picture one!!! We want spring here too! Great job watching Dolma and betsy clean up the big handsome horses. What a beautiful horse barn!!!!
We had over eight inches of snow, still on the ground out there but now we can see small patches of grass. many people had less so have whole grassy lawns again. We saw over one hundred blackbirds in our trees on Friday!! It looked like a Hitchcock movie on the snow laden branches.
We have snowdrop flowers blooming!! Spring is here and now time for the wearing of the green.
Kirby Bear, so glad you are well and safe at home.Dudley, Abby wants to know what Costco is?? Rebel, we love ducks too!! Maddox, are you celebrating St.Pat's day on Sunday?? Ruby, we have more snow than you, how is that possible??? Riley,Martha,Lucy, glad you enjoyed lots of outside walks. Wonder where Kitty is?? ZOE, welcome back!! Just tell T-Bone you are lifting weights and he will give you space going outside. Hope everyone has a grand Manic monday- purrrs- James Dean

  • Clever thinking girls...avoid making mud pies to avert a bath! :)

I agree, I'm tired of snow! It snowed again this past Friday, however the weekend was very Spring like, reaching near 50 temps. Melting was going on!

I saw the first chipmunk of the season. Spring must be near! :)

    Happy Monday...
    gail

  • So happy to see Franny and you out playing together. Yep, definitely time for the snow to go away. So happy that our good buddy Kirby Bear's surgery went so well.

Riley, you Martha and Lucy sound like a hoot. Jimmy Dean, which do you prefer the snow or the coming Spring?Zoe ahhh Zoe, what more can be said you little devil?

All my good Glue Squad buddies, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and is having a great day!

  • F & S this looks like the same day you went and checked on the Donks! Oh I'm so envious, wish I still had my horses, I miss them dearly. That vacuum would have sent them to orbit...of course they were Arabians - you know, sensitive! ;-) I discovered if I allowed the horses to have the mud on them for awhile and it got warmer, they would itch and roll in the grass and take it all off by themselves and their hair would be out in pasture (no cleanup) Actually the truth be told, I was just too lazy to curry them...besides my overworked equine handling hands and wrists would hurt real bad....not an excuse~

Kirby dear, I'm happy all is OK, now don't itch!
My friends make it a good day!

    delia & Kitty =^. .^=

  • ..you little guys get around..I could not be near a horse..my natural wild child thoughts tell me I must heel it..and then try not to get kicked in the head..yes, I am naughty..for years I had mini goats to chase around..Kirby, glad you are okay..I helped Lucinda put up a couple hummingbird feeders..saw one yesterday..I told her it was a drone!..maybe I watch too much tv!!!over and out, love, Cora-Belle
