Relaying a Message to the Donkeys

Posted by Francesca

As you know, I've been confined to the house with my neck issues and I haven't been able to do most of the things that I so love doing.  Sharkey has been doing a great job holding the fort down and reporting on the Daily Wag.  I suppose with all the added responsibility, she might be a little forgetful lately.

Sharkey, I feel very badly that I haven't been able to make the rounds of the farm with you. I was wondering if you might give the Donks a message from me?

Please explain to them why I need to stay confined to the house. And please tell them that I miss their cute faces.

There she goes. I hope Sharkey can remember everything I said.

Well, here I am at the donkey paddock with Billie, Rufus, and Clive.

Hmmm... What was it that Franny wanted me to tell them?

Hold on, Donks! I'm trying to remember!

Was it something about why she can't come outside?

Oh, if I could just remember!

I've had so much on my mind lately. If I had only listened more carefully!

  • You two are so cute! I love reading "The Daily Wag" -- keep up the good work. Sending GET WELL wishes, Francesca!

  • Good Morning F & S

Sharkey like I always said once an ass always an ass ;) Don't tell Franny they weren't interested it will only hurt her feelings.

What a wonderful weekend, lots of time with Mom. We baked on Saturday and then she surprised me with Nicole she had a sleep over at our house. You got it cheese curls :) Mom baked cupcakes so she could decorate them and there were sprinkles all over the place. Then we played Pokeno and I got to sit at the table and watch.

Sunday I was stationed on Mom's lap all day. We watched golf all morning and football all night it was heaven. We had all kinds of good snacks and I got to taste a few things - really good snacks if I say so myself.

I heard the groundhog saw his shadow so that means spring is right around the corner? I sure hope so I need some deck time I'm getting cabin fever!!!

  • Hello Girls & Glue Squad Buddies,
Francesca it is good you have such a caring sis as Sharkey and she is delivering messages. I am sure the donks and everyone are missing your sweet face. The last of your confinement will be the hardest I bet as you are getting better. I see you at least get to get a kiss from Sharkey and be around each other. Things are moving forward at least.

I bet everyone watched the Superbowl. I had a party. Just us and a lot of food. The party got crashed the night before and I didn't get my proper sleep. Five raccoons were trying to get in to the fireplace. No go though, Dad has us protected like a fortress. He shined lights on them and everything. No, they didn't leave for 3 hours even. I don't like those guys for messing with my house. Now how was everyone's weekend? Jake are things going well from getting "fixed"? I will check back and see how the weekend was for you all. Have a GEM of a day.
    Love & licks,
    Ruby

  • Hello Francesca,
You did the blog today so you must be feeling better. Good, good, good. Sharkey and GK have been taking care of things for you but I bet all the horses, donks, roosters and chickens and especially the squirrels miss you very much. So heal up real good so you can go visit them
Well gang, did you watch the game? Neither of the teams is MY team. But, living on the east coast, I had to cheer for the Ravens. I thought they had it in the bag until the lights went out and they lost their momentum. That ended up being a close game. I celebrated with some special treats. Good stuff.
Can't wait to hear from everyone.
    Love to all,
    Maddox

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Now that was a good one Sharkey; telling the donks just what they are. Or did you mean they are acting like one? I used to have hopes of getting a donkey but things are fading fast. I heard my Mommy telling my Daddy that the jackass living next door is moving away. He’s taking my hope with him. Oh well, guess I’ll just have to settle for the cat which stays on the back porch. He isn’t very friendly at all. When I go outside he hides from me. Guess he has seen me chase too many squirrels and knows just how fast I am. He better stay out of my way, I was here first. I’ll bet that doesn’t mean a thing to him. Cats can be, err, humm, well you know.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hi F,S,&GK+ Glue Squad, Francesca, I was so happy to see you out of your cage talking to your sister, Sharkey! The two of you looked so beautiful being together and you look like you are feeling much better! Hip, Hip, Hurrah! That was nice to have Sharkey say Hi to the donkeys for you even though they didn't respond! Hope you can go outside soon and hope the weather is somewhat warmer! Have a great day you two and please say Hi to GK!!! Loved reading the 4 comments from our buddies this morning and can't wait to hear from the rest of you! Zoe, you sure had a nice weekend and hopefully we will have spring like weather real soon, too! Ruby, I don't like the raccoons either and we seem to get them a lot in our yard! Mom always goes everywhere with me so they can't bother me! Maddox, we did watch the crazy game and the doggie game yesterday, also! Our weather was very foggy all day Saturday and mostly cloudy on Sunday! We were hoping for lots of sunshine, but got none! Hope all of you have a great day and stay safe! Love Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Good morning ladies,
It sure was good to see you walking around the kitchen, Frannie. Sharkey & G.K. have been doing a great job keeping us up to date. Ya know, Mimi had to laugh at pic #8 cause sometimes she has to tilt her head trying to remember something. She grits her teeth, too! How silly is that. I didn't know remembering something could be so hard.
Well, it was good to see the donks. Maddox made me wonder what the chickens & geese are up to during the winter.
Hey Ruby girl, you get those rascally coons! They are pesty buggers for sure! Get your bark on girl friend. WOOF!
I didn't watch the football game, but I sat on the couch with Papa and watched golf. The folks went to the neighbors for the big game. My team wasn't playing either (that's par for the course in Chicago). They told me were rooting for S.F. only because the coach had been the quarterback for the Bears.
Hi, Jake. Hope your on the mend.
We had a flock of robins around our house, they sure made a mess on the mulch! Scratching & poking. They like to sit in the sun on our driveway. The hawk came by yesterday, he sure is handsome. I need to fine out which one he is.
    Have a great day everybody.
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • Why, Sharkey, they're acting like a$$es because that's what they are! I think the stress of having to do it all is getting to you. I think a spa day is in order for you so you can relax. A nice massage, perhaps a mani and pedi--I think you've earned a day off; but something tells me you'd much prefer arguing with the donks, or a$$es, as you called them, to being confined to a massage table. ;)

Thanks for taking such great care of Francesca, Sweet Sharkey. You girls, ROCK! Speaking of rock, Beyonce's high energy Super Bowl performance inspired my mom to sing the following as she harnessed me for our morning walk: "If you like me, then you'd better put a leash on me..."

    XOXO,
    POCO

  • ...hi everybody..I for one was disappointed the superbowl people did not ask us, the glue squad, to perform at half-time..remember last year..Maddox had a plan for all of us...oh well, there is always next year!...Ruby, wish I lived nearby..I would teach those coons a thing of two..in my younger days i would grab them and shake them till their teeth rattled and then let them go..it was a dangerous sport..had to do it just right, so neither one of us got hurt..Groundhog day party was fun..Chiweenies wore plaid coats and Ivan and Ivanka laughed at them..I am limping today..so I better take an extra pain pill and lay low..over and out, Cora-Belle

  • What a way to begin the week...

    Donk-a-roonies! :)

Seems like the donks have a lot on their minds also! :)

I'm sure the message was received loud and clear!

It was nice to see Frannie girl out of the crate.

Hope her disc is healing nicely!

    Hugs to all!
    gail

  • Hello, hello, is anybody there? I think all my Glue Squad buddies partied too much over the weekend. I'll check back later.
    Hugs,
    Ruby

  • Hi Francesca Baby, I'm glad you are feeling well enough to be concerned about the donks. Silly donks.
Well, we were VERY busy on Saturday at our FBRN Kissing Booth. Millie did most of the day, with a friend of ours, Arlo, to help her. I came in toward the end of the day when everyone was tired. I did a good job giving kisses even though I was VERY distracted. Do you know where they had put our booth? We were next to a rabbit rescue (mmmm, rabbit stew...) and across from a ferret rescue. Clearly no one in charge knew that I was coming. I've never had ferret, but being French and all I am an adventurous gourmand and wouldn't mind taking a chomp or two to see how they taste. I digress. Anyway, we made a pretty nice amount of money when you consider that we only charge a dollar a kiss!
Sunday was a be restful and sleepy kind of day. We watched the Puppy Bowl (what, no Frenchies????) and Saturday night's episodes of Pit Bulls and Parolees and Pit Boss. Mom only watched as much as the Super Bowl that happened before Downton Abbey was on. NO ONE is allowed to distrub Mom when Downton Abbey is on.
    A bientot!

  • Nice to see you Franny! Hope you heal quickly and maybe you got some acupuncture for your neck ;-)

Well Gail is in Donk heaven!

Too bad they are ignoring you Sharkey, but then they are Donks...they are more interested in eating, as you can see.
I'm sick of snow and we are expecting more...Spring where are you?

    Hello Glue-Squad and fur-friends from,
    delia and Kitty =^. .^=
