Too Much Bad Weather

Posted by F&S

No one can deny that strange things are going on with the weather.  Who would ever dream that a major hurricane would slam the northeast?  People and animals barely caught their breath before being dumped on by a ton of snow.  What next?

Hey! We haven't seen the donkeys, Clive, Rufus, and Billie for a few days. Let's go and visit them.

Hi there Clive. You donks must have been kind of scared with all that wind howling during the hurricane. We Frenchies were wondering how you fared.

Sharkey, whenever the wind starts to blow like crazy, I just think of that fairy tale, The Three Little Pigs. You may recall that the Big Bad Wolf was able to blow down the two pigs' houses made of straw and the other made of wood.

Well, our stable is very solid as it has thick walls made of stone and by the hair on our chinny chin chins, we donkeys felt quite safe and sound in our stall even when Hurricane Sandy was at her fiercest.

Hi Meindert! The donkeys told us that all of you equines felt very safe inside the stone stable during the hurricane, but now look at all of this snow we have to deal with!

Yes, Sharkey, the hurricane was quite scary, but we do feel safe tucked away in this stable. However, I must warn you Frenchies of another danger that's lurking.

Please stay far away from the roof line, as snow has been avalanching off of it.

  • Hello girls,
Look at that snow you got. We were supposed to get some but it missed us. Now snow I can do. I will walk all over in snow but rain is another story.
I love the picture of the snow coming off of the roof. Great shot.....
I hope everyone is doing better. Abby and Rebel. You both seem to be on the right track. Cora-Belle, how are you doing?
I want to thank everyone that got back on the DW last night and wished my boy a Happy Birthday. That was very nice of everyone, a special thing to do. I hope GK had a great day and got lots of extra treats yesterday. Maybe his sisters made him a cake. That would be fun for him.
Have a great weekend everyone. I will check back later on all you maniacs.
    Love to all,
    Maddox

  • Good Morning F & S

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY GK!!! Sorry I missed it on my post yesterday. Lynn emailed Mom last night to remind us - sorry I missed it yesterday - hope you had a great birthday!!

F & S you sure did get a lot of snow. Only an inch down this way which was fine by me. The weather the next few days is suppose to be sunny and in the 60's -look out deck I'm coming out for some nap time :) I'm happy all the outdoor pets survived Sandy, it must be scary for them don't you think?

We may have a new Glue Squad member soon mom got an email from Lynn and she has her eye on a new baby!! So excited for her and that new pup has no idea how much love she is about to get :) Let's all keep our paws and fingers crossed she gets to come home with Lynn and her family this weekend.

    Have a great weekend everyone!!

  • Hello Ladies & Glue Squad Buddies,
I am in seventh heaven looking at your snow, girls. We are due for some tomorrow, but only a couple inches, not like you New Yorkers received. You girls look like little snowbunnies in your winter apparel. I see G.K. was out romping with Mama Martha on her blog. Summer he kept cool and out of the photos a lot, but now we get to see him again being a snowbunny. Good to see all of you and the donks (Gail will be happy) and have them tell you the story of the 3 little pigs. You gals have great fun. Now for some excitement that is brewing at our house. We have put in our application for adoption. Yes, the procedure has begun and soon you all will maybe have someone to teach the ropes to, so to speak. I will keep my mouth shut on anything more, until things might be final. All I know, is it could be an exciting weekend for us!!! Hint, hint. You all will be the first to know. Keep safe and have a fun weekend. Rebel, you have your last shot today, don't you, and Abby, I hope the tummy and all else are doing well with the meds. Cora Belle, any maple bars in your future? And Maddox, the proud Dad of 3 year old G.K. They grow up so fast, don't they?
    Hugs & smiles,
    Lynn

  • Hey everybody,
First, Happy Birthday to you, G.K.! Enjoy the snow!
You gals look so cute trotting down the road to the stables. I'm so happy that the donkeys and horses felt safe. The stable seems so stable to me. (that's a little joke...very little)Can you hear the snow start to slip off the roof? I bet you can and the way you gals run lickety split, well I'm willing to bet you won't get dumped on.
Having a busy morning at work and had to wait 1/2 hour at Dr Becky's! Yikes, I get anxious 'cause I hear other dogs howling and a kitty meowing and I want to be where the action is. Anyway, this was shot #7. I have one more to go. Dr Becky put some peanut butter on a stick & I get to lick it while she's giving me my poke on the old hip.
Zoe, so glad you only got a dusting. It's too early for we flatlanders. Lynn, we expect you to get snow before most of us. Mimi likes to have a little bit of snow for Thanksgiving, gets her in the holiday mood.
Well I need a nap. I'll check in later to see if Cora Belle and Kitty drop by to say hi.
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • There's no business, like 'snow' business!

My area in NH only got about 2 inches of snow. Which was two inches too much! Come on people, it's only November! Enough with all this wacky weather.

Glad to see there wasn't any further damage with the Nor'Easter.

Super happy to know the donks and horses are kept safely inside a solid structure.

Today the sun popped out, snow is melted and temps may warm to mid 60's my Monday!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  • Hi Girls & Glue Squad..Looks like fun romping in the snow and you've got your sweaters on too. Good move, dress for the weather. GK, hope you had a nice birthday and the girls gave you lots of surprises.

Weather today has been very sunny and close to the 50's, real nice change from all that rain, wind and everything else that came with the nor'easter. It may even hit the high 60's later in the weekend. I'm not quite ready for snow. I like to spend time outside when it's not raining, I don't like the "wet paw" thing, then have to be dried off but Mom has to catch me first.

Abby, glad you are feeling. Rebel, happy you only have one more shot to go. Hope all my other buddies are doing great.

Lynn, keeping my paws crossed for your news, hope it won't be long.

    Have a nice weekend.

    Till next time,
    Missy Chow
    xoxo

  • ..snow..yuk..used to like it when I was younger..now I just like a bit of rain and that is it...Rebel, hope you are resting after your shot..peanut butter sounds yummy, though..saw G.K. on the Martha blog..what a handsome boy...froze last night, so I am helping Lucinda make beds for the feral kitties..old blankets in boxes placed in the various sheds and barns around the farm/ranch...can't let those little rats get cold..after all they are part of the family..they know I am blind but still pretend to be scared of me (thanks guys!)...I hear talk of going to the beach..I love driving on the beach..salt air..Lucinda and James let me out and walk me to the ocean so I can get a good whiff...talk to all of you later, over and out, Cora-Belle

  • Sorry we missed wishing GK a happy birthday, so they are coming at you belatedly from Milwaukee. Things just have not gotten back to normal yet at our house, not that that is any excuse for bad manners. Miss Lynn, you may not be the only person about to add to the Glue Squad population! It seems that Mom is talking to some people that she knows through FirstMama about having a new friend come and live at our house. That would be very nice. As much as I like the extra attention I get just being one of two, I wouldn't mind having an extra playmate!! Raven Baby, we are having a relatively warm day here, no snow yet, so I feel for you. We all know it's coming, but each day it is not here is a good one, I think. Well, I have to go out with Millie and help Dad clean up the yard while it is still nice out!!

  • Aww what a cute picture! I think a lot of us forget our pets when complaining about the weather and at least we can dress up warmer!

Holy~Moly F & S that's a lot of snow! :-( I don't want it coming our way...today it was forecasted as being ugly, but turned out nice for the Veterans Day Ceremonies plus it was a nice 63 degrees...now it's raining and Kitty keeps on going out and coming back like a revolving door.

    till tomorrow!
