Planting Tulips for Spring Beauty

Posted by F&S

Today on Martha's blog, there are photos of Gyurme and Ryan planting bulbs in the terrace garden.  This is only partly true.  While the guys were taking one of their extra-long coffee breaks, we Frenchies did most of the work.

As you know, we are very helpful Frenchies and I think that we should chip in and plant.

You're right, Franny! Nicely done. Now, let's pop a bulb into the hole, point side up, of course.

  • Good morning ladies,
Ooooo, you two know how to work and you know how to skeedaddle away, too!!
I'm going to have breakfast now, I'll check in later to see how everybody is doing, especially Cora Belle.
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • Good Morning F & S

First off let me wish Karen a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I forgot to post that yesterday. I hope you had a wonderful birthday :)

F & S how come your mom buys so many bulbs? No wonder you have so many critters at the farm it's like a bulb buffet! My mom won't plant them she said they just get eaten up and it kills her back.

Mom has been really busy at the office lately that nasty storm caused a lot of delays in closings so now everyone is scrambling to be in their homes before the holiday. I told her she better get working around here this weekend because the crew all comes in a few days and expects a wonderful dinner. I better make her a list so she doesn't forget anything.

I'm so happy it's Friday these contractors won't be around for 2 days - they give me a friggen headache! Yesterday they replaced all the sliders in the back of the house I froze my cute butt off!! 20 feet of open wall - burrrrr..........

Well F, S, GK and the entire GS have a great weekend. Oh and remember if you want to join our email list where we share photos and keep in touch off the DW email my mom at: abrennan@coretitle.com. I'll send you cute pictures of me ;)

    Love you all
    Zoe

  • Hi girls,
Again, as usual, you girls are hard at work. Was GK supervising or sleeping somewhere? Hehehehehe.
Well, Karen is leaving early this morning to go to a dog show in New York. But she wanted me to tell everyone that she sure had a great birthday. And she said to say a big thank you to Missy Chow and her manama for the very fitting birthday card and to Miss Lynn for the card she created and the beautiful blanket she made her. When she goes to shows, motel rooms are so stuffy and warm and we chows have such big coats so she has the AC on in the room, even on a weekend like this where it will only be in the 40's. So, she always takes a blanket along from home so she stays warm in the cool room. The blanket will now be her new "show blanket". I am staying home. I am in charge this weekend. She doesn't know it but as soon as she is out the door I am breaking out the biscuits. Hehehehehe
Will check in later to see how everyone is doing and to hear what Cora-Belle has to say
Again, thank you all for making Karen so happy yesterday. You are all a great bunch of friends
    Love to all,
    Maddox

  • Hello Ladies & Glue Squad Buddies,
Happy Friday to all. Seeing the tulip planting looks like a lot of hard work, but so rewarding in spring. I love the ruffle ones!! #13 of you both headed for the squirrels is a great photo. An action shot, like James Bond. I loved hearing from Baby Favor yesterday. New puppies popping up everywhere, huh, Baby Favor. I know no matter who your Mom brings home, you will be a good mentor. That is our thought behind getting 2 pups. If we don't get them at the same time, then one can mentor the other. I will be off the grid until Wednesday, as we are leaving for the mountains Sunday and returning late Tuesday. Just in time for Thanksgiving. What are all your plans everyone for Thanksgiving? Tasha and other labs before her, would lay in front of the oven on Thanksgiving, just waiting for the turkey to come out. Those bird dogs love the smell of turkeys. Sorry turkeys!! Rebel, I as well, am looking forward to our Cora Belle update. Will check back later to see how everyone is doing. TGIF!!!!!
    Hugs & smiles,
    Lynn

Such nice photos today of the beautiful frenchie girls planting tulip bulbs. Mom loves #2 of Sharkey, looking really blonde and pretty for the camera. She said I look a little like Sharkey, but I can only aspire to be a super model...
Dudley, you can speak cat and purrr???? I used to have conversations with Herman but cannot speak persian at all to communicate with James Dean... Can you speak persian cat too? He is an enigma.
Maddox, so glad Karen had a wonderful birthday and hope she has a great time in NY this weekend. We are supposed to have abundant sunshine! Delia, HAPPY ANNIVESARY!!!! purrs from Jimmy too for his girl friend Kitty.
Zoe, hope your Eagles have a good weekend game and that your mom gets some rest. Rebel, glad you are feeling better. Missy chow, what are you up to??? Hope Corabelle is barking it up at a bonfire with lots of maple bars and treats. Lynn, have a good trip away. We will miss you. Thank you all for being such good friends glue squad buddies!! I am going to snooze before work. love, woofs and purrs- Abby and Jimmy

  • ..hi everybody..first off. belated Happy Birthday to Karen, Maddox please give her a big lick for me when she gets home..and Delia. 49 years, I salute you!..you frenchies are such good helpers...I am having a little problem walking.. alittle unsteady..James and Lucinda pretend that I walk just fine and walk real slow next to me, in case I topple over..other than that i feel real perky and good...I like riding in the Tundra ..so we are going for cruise to the store later..hope a maple bar is there!...so just some good days and bad days..but this old girl is still in the game!...Glue squad..can you believe it has almost been a year since Maddox named us the glue Squad..we are an elite dog force..right everybody?..but then every dog and critter is special, it is there owners who sometimes suck!..everybody have a good week-end..love, Cora-Belle

  • Hi Girls & Glue Squad, You did a good job planting those bulbs. I know they will look real pretty in the spring and the squirrels don't get at them first. I know Mom has had her bulbs dug up by them and that doesn't make her very happy. :{ On the other hand, I like to dig open spaces in my backyard and have made a couple of small holes too, that doesn't set well with Dad, so I don't think Mom will be planting anything in my area at all. How come GK wasn't helping? Love the last picture "and away we go"!!!!

Happy to hear Karen had a great birthday and your welcome for your card. Good Luck at the Dog Show. Watch out everyone, Mom likes to send e/cards so you never know when one might show up in a "box" near you, hehehe :)

Well, today was a busy day; hence the late post, I had to supervise the food shopping for the holiday and check out the bags too. Mom bought something for me for Christmas, I hope it fits as I've already walked it around the house before she caught up with me. I'm still fast.

Glad all my buddies-Maddox, Abby, James Dean, Kitty, Kirby Bear, Dudley Do Right, Zoe, Rebel, Chloe are doing well; sure hope Cora-Belle posts soon and she is well rested. Hi Lynn, Gail, Sonya and Happy Anniversary Delia.

    Great weekend to everyone,
    Till next time,
    Missy Chow
    xoxo

  • Thank You for the Anniversary Wishes..today is a nice sunny day and we might take a ride to a town here in Wisconsin that we have never seen, then for a nice dinner.

  • Happy belated Birthday to Karen. Glad that she had a great day. Happy Anniversary to Delia! I hope everyone is feeling well and has a great weekend!!!

  • Franny & Sharkey,
You gals are always where the action is. I wish I had your energy and could bottle it up and sell it on Martha's show HA!
A planting we will go, a planting we will go. Looks like "Auntie Martha" is going to be busy or her team in Bedford is.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all humans & animals alike.
    Take care all.
    Happy Birthday to Karen too.

  • Hi there,
I just wanted to let Cora-Belle know that I love her and I hope she has a good weekend
    That goes for everyone
