Decorating for Autumn

Posted by Francesca

Now that autumn is here, it's time to decorate for the upcoming holidays.  Pumpkins and gourds are so colorful and festive and it's wonderful decorating with them.  Of course, it helps that we had a bountiful harvest here at the farm.

Martha really likes to decorate, but she's got to get to work!

Did I just hear her tell me to finish up the job?

That's a lot of pressure, but luckily, I've been observing her style for quite some time.

But do I really have what it takes?

Oh no! I just can't decide - Is this the right place for this pattypan?

Oh nonsense! Why do I doubt myself? After all, I am a Frenchie and I have a natural flair for decorating!

Perfect! Simply perfect!

I'm also acrobatic and can even use my back legs for the job.

It's perfectly fine to enlist the help of a decorating assistant. Alright Gyurme! Let's do this!

There's a place that needs some work.

Martha would consider this display dinky. It definitely needs to be more opulent.

Put one there and now one there.

And place that bright orange one over there on the other rack!

Now to the next location! Martha's going to love my decorating! Hey, maybe my name should be Sharkey!

  • Hello everyone,
Francesca, you are quite the decorator. I think Martha will really like what you did. Kudos to you for a job well done. Baby Favor's mom should get gardening tips from you, then maybe she would have a larger variety of veggies. hehehehehehe Say Cora-Belle, did you have to wear your pretty vest yet?
I bet Rebel and Zoe are worn out from the partying that went on for birthdays, Mimi and Zoe's dad. I hope you gave your dad a beautiful TP gift Zoe. Rebel I hope Mimi had a wonderful birthday, Rebel, how did you make out with your shot? Did it help you to feel better? I hope so. Dudley, you had no rain since July 20th? Seriously dude, I want to come and live with you for the summer. All that deck time. WOW. Kitty is going wacky with her catnip. Why don't they have a dognip plant? What the heck. Missy Chow, did you enjoy your ice cream?
It sounds like you were a very good girl. Good for you.I am proud of you. Abby, did you have a good time at Petsmart? Martha has a great assortment of goodies there for us, doesn't she? Kirby, no water dog for me. No rain. I am headed to the deck. I hope everyone had a great weekend.
    Love to all,
    Maddox
PS - YES, a Glue Squad email connection would be great. Of course we would all still comment on the DW. We would never stop that because this is where we all met. This is home for us Glue Squad maniacs.

  • Hello Ladies & Glue Squad Buddies,
It looks like you could be Mama Martha's new design team. I see a biscuit raise in your future Franny. We picked everything in the garden over the weekend, but don't have as cool of things as you kids on the farm. We are preparing for rain/snow this Thursday. We never know in Colo. if it will be a dusting or a blizzard. I am anxious to hear of everyone's weekend. I hope those b-day celebrations for Zoe's Dad and Mimi were great. Were you in charge of t.p. decorating Zoe? Started making the hundreds of Warrior Prince Biscuits for the craft show in a month. All money this year from the sales of biscuits will go to the French Bulldog Rescue you recommended Abby, in memory of Basil. Off to doc's. Will check back later.
    Hugs & smiles,
    Lynn

  • Franny you are too cute, giving decorating instructions! Fall is a nice time of year and I only decorate for the season, as I'm not fond of Halloween don't decorate for that.

I have some huge Gourdes that I want to paint or make bird houses...oh well another project!

Hello Glue Squad hope everyone is well...sorry got to run!
    delia & Kitty =^. .^=

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Well the weekend is over and now back to doing the week day chores. It rained the past two days and I had to stay inside. Guess that is what I get for making fun of Maddox and his rain. It didn’t rain very hard so everything did get watered. I have been decorating for fall for a while. I leave tufts of orange hair in various spots around the house. Mommy doesn’t like that; keeps her busy cleaning it up. It’s going to rain again today so I had better get my “yard trip” done early.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Good morning Frannie!
I sure could use your help at our house. A deocrator I am not.
Mimi wants me to thanke Abby, Maddox and Missy Chow for their birthday wishes. She baked her own chocolate cake. It's her Grandma's recipe & a favorite. I got lucky last night, Papa dropped a tiny bit on the floor. Yummm.
Oh, Kitty, I'm sure glad you enjoy your catnip. I sure would have liked to see you do what kitties do.
I'm starting to feel a bit better. The leave on conditioner feels so nice. I didn't mind the shot & I think it helped some. Mimi said there was less fur in the sink at my bathtime, too.
    Well, til tomorrow.
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • Hi F,S,&GK+ Glue Squad, Franny, you look so gorgeous in these photos and you certainly have a lot of great looking items to help Martha decorate for Halloween! Photo #9 is magnificent! How nice that Gyurme was there to help you! You look so cute in photo #16! Rebel, hope you are doing better and that Mimi had a great Birthday on Sunday! Hi Kitty and Delia, would love to see the gourd painted birdhouses you make! Abby and JD, am sending you nice, dry, warm weather, enjoy! Baby Favor, so you want to eat rabbits and squirrels?! Unusual! Missy Chow, Happy Birthday to Mom's 90 year old aunt and an early Happy Birthday to you reaching 1 year old next month! Maddox, you are welcome to live with me next summer if it's as dry and warm as it's been this year! Lynn, how thoughtful of you to make so many Warrior Prince Biscuits to help protect those great French Bulldogs who need to be rescued! Will check back later to read more great comments! Hope all of you have a great day! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Nice job Frannypants but what happened to your siblings Sharkey and G.K.?

Happy Belated Birthday to Zoe's Dad and Mimi!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

  • Hello and happy October Francesca, Maddox, Lynn, Dudley, Kitty and my glue squad buddies-
What wonderful decorating efforts Francesca!! Great job, the different kinds of pumpkins and gourds are fascinating. Beautiful specimens to display and enjoy! You must be brave to ride in that wheel barrow. I like to be on solid ground.
Dudley, it worked!! You sent sunshine here and the rain clouds lifted and blew away!! Mimi, I am so glad you had a great birthday and that cake sounds very good. Zoe, hope your dad enjoyed his special day. Rebel, so glad and relieved you are feeling better. That leave on conditioner is so soothing.
Kirby, ask Dudley to send over the sunshine.
Lynn, it is wonderful that you are sending a donation in memory of Prince Basil to the french bulldog rescue from the warrior cookies. Mom is busy with her halloween crafts.
Maddox, I had a good time at petsmart on saturday but there are sooo many wonderful costumes in the martha section, can't make up my mind. We saw a great bandana that I might wear, I have trouble wearing some costumes due to my unique pug/frenchie shape. Wonder what Sharkey and Franny will wear????
Well, Mom is working on some crafts stuff before working late. James Dean celebrated his name sake's anniversary yesterday. He is still up there reading all about James Dean the person and his racing cars and triumph motorcycles. Purrs to Kitty and Delia, high paws to all my glue squad friends, love, Abby

  • Frannie girl you did a spectacular job decorating!

The farm is beginning to look festive!

  • Afternoon Girls, GK & Glue Squad, Frannie you have done a terrific job decorating today. Glad that Gyurme was there to push the wheel barrel then he helped you place them on the ledge. What teamwork.

Glad everyone is doing okay; Dudley Do Right, thanks for the early birthday wishes. I can't wait to see what Mom has planned, maybe she & Dad will take me to Petsmart to pick something out, hint, hint...;-)Rebel, glad you are feeling better. Maddox, I did enjoy the ice cream, sooo good. Cora Belle, are you okay? Kirby Bear, I know how you felt, we had a rainy weekend too and couldn't spend alot of time outdoors either, today is bright & sunny. Lynn, hope you don't get too much snow, better still no snow. Just a little early, right?

Hi Delia and to all my buddies, Abby, JD, Zoe, Kitty. Sorry if I missed anyone.

    Till next time,
    Missy Chow
    xoxo

  • Hi Raven Baby, you are doing a lovely job with the decorating; I am VERY proud!! Maddox, that was funny. Yes, Dudley Do Right, I am quite the fierce hunter, if I do say so myself!! We are having the front porch fixed at our house right now. Mom likes to decorate for autumn, but might not this year, just because things are so busy. She's starting to get ready for our roadtrip to Portland, and oh my so many things going on it's amazing that she has time to help me get online to talk to my Raven and my Glue Squad friends. That is so awesome that you are donating your Warrior Prince Basil cookie proceeds to help French Bulldogs, Miss Lynn; Mom tells me you are what is known as 'one class act.' I'm pretty sure that's a big compliment.
