A Guinea Fowl Update
Posted by F&S
You may recall when we posted a blog last July about the new guinea fowl that were being raised in the corn crib. Well, we noticed the other day that the corn crib was empty and we were wondering where the guinea fowl disappeared to.
1 Francesca! I bet the guinea fowl have been moved into the chicken coops. I'll race you down there so we can settle this mystery, once and for all.
2 Aha! I was right about the guinea fowl. They're right here in one of the chicken yards.
3 Sharkey, I suppose it's better for these guineas to be down here with the chickens and roosters. At least they have the company of other feathered friends.
4 Francesca, don't forget that there are also two Pomeranian geese, which are very protective of all the fowl in the coop, even though they are as loud as can be!
5 So, guineas, you have certainly gotten much bigger since the last time we met.
6 Do you think that Martha will ever let you wander around the farm in the daytime so that you can feast on all of the pesky bugs on the farm? Isn't that what you do so well?
7 Well, Frenchies, we would be very happy to exit this yard in the daytime and return to it at night. We love eating pesky bugs like Japanese beetles and all sorts of ticks.
8 However, there are many dangers outside and we've been told of wandering coyotes with big bellies. Someone on the farm even saw a Bobcat in the woods!
9 The chickens even told us that certain canines would love to pounce on us like we were some kind of dog toy.
10 Would you Frenchies know anything about that? All we have to say is that we're glad there's a fence between you and us! Your mouths look entirely too large!
