Some of What we did in Maine
Posted by Francesca
Skylands, our home in Maine, is a great place to visit for fun and adventure. However, sometimes during down time, it's a little hard to find all that excitement. Here's a blog that falls into that category.
Martha gave Uncle Carlos a job painting a table and he thought it would be so funny to make little hats for us using the painters' tape.
Well, guess what? I didn't think it was very funny at all, Carlos! How would you like tape stuck to your head?
So then, he decided to make little sailor hats for us by folding paper towels!
Seriously! What was Uncle Carlos thinking?
Sharkey, I think that Uncle Carlos owes us a trip to the beach. We need a change of scenery!
Now this is more like it! Attention from admiring fans!
Hey, wait a second. Why are we tied up here?
What? No dogs on the beach? I guess these rules are strictly enforced. Maybe we should wander over to the yacht club.
Even though there's no sand or seaweed to sniff at, it's pretty peaceful sitting here looking at all of the boats moored in the harbor.
However, Sharkey, there's very little excitement here and I think I've had my fill of boats.
I guess we should probably wander back home.
Well, here we are now in the empty Skylands greenhouse! Don't you think the crew did a really nice job washing the windows?
Sadly, it won't be too much longer until all of the outdoor potted tropical plants will have to be brought back inside to protect them from the cold. Sharkey, alas, summer seems to be coming to a close!
