Vov Vov from Sweden...
Posted by Pia
Ha! That's how you say Woof Woof in Sweden! Thank goodness I now know how to properly greet the mini 4-legged vikings i've been meeting here!
1 "So American dogs say, Woof Woof?...We Swedes pronounce it, Vov Vov!"
(photo by Dr. Pia's cousin Ola Widen!)
2 "Correct me if I'm mistaken but you definitely seem like tourists from my perspective..."

3 "Us Swedish dogs like to stop for a snack and some refreshments around 3 pm each day..."

4 Here's a friendly Swedish slug we met...said his name is Bjorn...
5 This guy was kind enough to offer us directions...
"Go right at first fire hydrant....bear left and you'll see a very inviting patch of grass on your right...there may be a squirrel in the tree that's there...it's imperative that you go and check...ummm...where was I?...."

6 This regal dobbie-greyhound mix is Malcolm. It was his first day venturing into the big city of Gothenburg! He was a bit nervous but seemed to be doing a great job taking in all the new smells.
7 "Perhaps I could get a meatball as well?...even just a small one will do..."
8 This is my cousin Anette's fur kid Oliver! I think that makes him my 2nd cousin? Or is it first cousin once removed?
9 Here is Oliver again...posing for his annoying American relatives who can't seem to stop snapping photos!
10 This feline viking is Sarah! She is one of my cousin Cristine's 3 fur kids!
11 Another slug! A mini little guy I named Bixby! He was over for a playmate with Sarah.
12 Sarah and Bixby just play sand giggled the whole time we were there! They wanted kitties Alfonse and Segrid to come out and play too, but no such luck!
13 And here are some of my chicken relatives! They were so welcoming and even offered to share some of their dinner with me!
14 There really is no denying the striking family resemblance! I can finally see why so many relatives think my chicken cousin Anders and I look so much alike!
15 Once this pooch- named, 'little monster'- learned that her photo was for an American blog- one by THE famous Frannie and Sharkey Stewart dogs, she insisted on having more photos taken... and here is my good side...be sure and snap me this way....

16 Even though pooches were not permitted to swim in this lake, they could still take their humans there for a roll in the sand.
17 One of my chicken cousin's took this shot of my husband rowing us around the lake!
18 Oooh...this is a favorite cake in Sweden- It's called Princess Torte and my cousin Anette makes it better than anyone else in the world!
19 This about says it all! My relative Julia was wearing it at our reunion. Now I want one that says, "I like nice creatures, who do nice things."
Mjau Mjau is how you say Meow Meow...although I suspect the translation of that for my canine readers might be 'Yawn Yawn,' or 'Borrrrring..."
Anyhooo.... Many of you may wonder why we chose Sweden for our trip...The answer is that my mom is from a small town called Boras- near Gothenburg. So I have lots of great childhood memories and wonderful family here...that includes some lovable kitty cousins I've just met -see gallery above
I hope all of you Waggers are enjoying the summer.
Sending lots of love and biscuits from Scandinavia.
