This regal dobbie-greyhound mix is Malcolm. It was his first day venturing into the big city of Gothenburg! He was a bit nervous but seemed to be doing a great job taking in all the new smells.

There really is no denying the striking family resemblance! I can finally see why so many relatives think my chicken cousin Anders and I look so much alike!

Even though pooches were not permitted to swim in this lake, they could still take their humans there for a roll in the sand.

Mjau Mjau is how you say Meow Meow...although I suspect the translation of that for my canine readers might be 'Yawn Yawn,' or 'Borrrrring..."

Anyhooo.... Many of you may wonder why we chose Sweden for our trip...The answer is that my mom is from a small town called Boras- near Gothenburg. So I have lots of great childhood memories and wonderful family here...that includes some lovable kitty cousins I've just met -see gallery above :)

I hope all of you Waggers are enjoying the summer.
Sending lots of love and biscuits from Scandinavia.

In kinship,
Dr. Pia

  • Good morning Dr. Pia,
You know, I was thinking again. Yes, my head is a little dizzy but that is ok cause I thought of a homework assignment for you Dr.
Pia. Ah Ha. It is more like a Swedish Assignment.
Since we all sent you pictures at Christmas time, I thought it would be neat for you to try to take pictures of dogs and cats that look like the DW Glue Squad. It could be like a scavenger hunt but instead of looking for objects, you would be looking for look alike Glue Squad subjects. That would be neat to see dogs from another country that look similar to us handsome guys and pretty girls from the DW. Now remember Dr. Pia, there is no grade for this assignment. We can call your assignment Look Alikes 101. hehehehehehehehe
Pam, I am sorry about your eyesight. Karen has a freind in Oregon that is legally blind but she can paint beautifully and make exquisite jewelry. I am glad you posted again. I hope that when you do get a dog your community leaders allow you to get a chow again. When you get one, just get a puppy which will be under 20 pounds and tell them you got a pomeranian. Then when the chow grows over 20 pounds act surprised. hehehehehehe It sounds like a very nice thing they did with the paw prints andthe box and all. When we had the fire/explosion here, a vet in the area and the cremation place went together and did each chow individually and didn't charge Karen anything. They did the paw prints too except Possum, Karen's first chow could not be done. I won't say the rest, as you can figure out why. Karen has still not picked up the ashes from all the dogs. They said they will keep them till she is ready for them. She has a real rough time sometimes so we all try to make her feel better. We hope we can make you feel better too Pam. Hang in there.
Well Glue Squad, here it is another Friday. Another weekend of wondering if Zoe is being good, how her dad is doing, if Chloe is in detention, if Kirby's tail is better, wondering what Abby, Dudley Rebel, Kitty and the humans will be doing and wondering if Cora-Belle is getting maple bars this weekend. Oh boy, all thins wondering and thinking has me exhausted. I am going to take a nap and will check back in later.
    Love to all,
    Maddox
PS = Lynn, Basil looks stunning in his frame. Good job from the artist, wonder who that was, hehehe and also from the frame store.

  • Great photos Dr.Pia and cousin Ola! What an extended fur-family you have! Seems that the Love of animals runs through your families veins, how wonderful! :-)

Whew...when I read about your cousin's chicken's sharing food with you, I first misread it and thought the chicken was the shared food for you :-(

What adorable animals, the little #15 Chihuahua is darling, and all those sweet cats as well.

Sounds like you are having a wonderful reunion in Sweden, Hello to ALL from America and thank you for sharing the animal photos. Also thanks for sharing your information about your mom being from Sweden...so Dr.Pia did you live there?

Lynn sent me an email with the photo of the framed Basil portrait, it looks beautiful! I'm so happy Lynn is happy.

Another scorcher today, we have a severe heat advisory, the poor animals, farmers and all the plants, all are stressed...I pray for rain.

Everyone here in the US and in Sweden have a great safe weekend.

    delia & Kitty =^. .^=

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
And hello to all those from Sweden. I hope the thunderstorms are through for a while. Another one yesterday and another, almost, two inches of rain. It’s good for the flowers, grass, trees, and the farmers, but if it just didn’t make so much noise. Daddy said I should take up a hobby; maybe like Zoe and chew on the TP instead of my tail. Now that’s a thought; Zoe, how does one get started. I know, just grab a mouthful and go for it. I’ll try that after a nap. Have a good, and safe, weekend all.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hello Dr.Pia!
Great pics of your relatives in Sweden! Sure am glad you're having a great time. vov,vov back at you all.
My Grand pal, Eli spent the day with me yesterday. He sure knows how to treat a crabby old chihuahua right. He gives me snacks & doesn't grab me for a hug like his sister tries to do. She's used to kitties that like hugs.
Quiet weekend coming up again but that's o.k. by me. I'll check in later to see if we hear about Zoe's Dad.
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • Hi Dr. Pia, How fun to hear from you 2 days in a row and these photos of the vikings in Sweden are very outstanding! I love them all and animals are my favorites! Photo #18 is so yummy and #19 is pretty cute! What a great trip you took to see your family and friends in Sweden! Two of my Mom's grandparents were from Finland and sure would love to visit there someday! Maddox, you are so great thinking of new ideas and hope Karen is doing well! Delia & Kitty, sure hope you stay cool and safe and pray that you get some rain! Our West Coast area is cloudy and foggy in the mornings and warm in the afternoons! Kirby, hope you do find a new way to stop chewing on your tail and only get a very little rain with no noise! Sure hope all the rest of you buddies are doing well and will check back later! Hope everyone has a great weekend and stay safe! Love, Dudley Do Right and Jan XOXOXO+

  • VoV VoV to you Dr Pia! We love Maddox's idea that you find look alikes for the Glue Squad. We also REALLY like the idea of going to Sweden. We think traveling there would be fun. And that Princess cake would be juuuuustttt right for us!! Please keep sending pictures. Fala and Winnie.

  • Hello Dr.Pia, Sharkey, Francesca, Delia, maddox, Kirby, Lynn, DDR and my glue squad friends,
Thank you Dr.Pia for the interesting photos from Sweden. Dudley Do Right, we hope you and Jan keep cool and have a very nice weekend.
Rebel, you are so right that woofing is a universal language. This weekend at work there will be over 23 dog boarders and like my hero Cora belle I am planning on barking at ALL the critters while Mom is busy taking care of them.
Pam, it touches our heart to hear about the memorial service and paw print for Mrs. Bosley Chow Chow. In time things will get better. It will just take time to heal and know the glue squad is always there for you. Mom visits Herman's picture on his porch spot every day. Unlike you she can not take his urn out of the bag yet but it sits next to his mouse toy on the porch window sill where he loved to watch the birds. We still feel his spirit here. It makes Mom smile.
Kirby I hope your tail feels better. Delia I hope you enjoy some art time this weekend. Lynn we are sending you a special hug too. getting ready to nap as this is one of our biggest boarding weekends.Keep safe all, enjoy the weekend and take time to be thankful for the daily wag - Abby

  • Hello Dr. Pia & Glue Squad Buddies,
We are sooo lucky to hear from you 2 days in a row, Dr. Pia. And lucky to see all these wonderful photos of family and friends--fur and non-fur. It looks beautiful there. How clever you are once again Maddox. I am hoping for mid-year photos of the Daily Waggers and their look alikes in Sweden. Kirby, don't feel bad about not being able to kick the habit of chewing on the tail. I will tell you a secret....I am 54 years old and cannot stop bitting my nails. Hubbie gets really mad at me. Maybe we should both take up teepeeing with the toilet paper. Hehehehe!!! Rebel I am glad you got to have a day with Grand Pal Eli. I can't imagine you are at all a crab--just hot, right? And Dudley, Abby, Chloe, Zoe, Missy Chow, Kitty and James Dean I wish you all were right here to get a cuddle from. Zoe, give Dad lots of extra licks and everyone have a great weekend.
    Hugs & smiles,
    Lynn
P.S. Maddox, be sure and tell Karen she is the bravest person I know going through that fire and loss. She is so caring and kind.

  • Hi Dr Pia & Glue Squad, Love the pictures of our fur friends in Sweden. I really liked picture #1, it is so cute. Happy you are enjoying your visit with your family.

It has been a quiet day for me and just relaxing most of the day too and I didn't get into any trouble either. Mom has been busy today so that means, I get late day computer time :( . Mom & Dad did take me a walk tonight after the sun went down, it felt good to stretch. The weather for the weekend will be turning warm & humid once again, so that means more nap time for me.

Kirby, hope your tail is better - Zoe, hope your dad is doing okay. Abby, tell Mom not to work too hard this weekend, sounds like she will be quite busy.

Hi Lynn - Hi Pam, Mom & Dad received my 2 big brother's paw prints also after they went to the Rainbow Bridge; they are sitting together along with their paw prints close by. Time has helped them but they will never forget either one of them. Now they have me and I certainly keep them on their toes :)

    Everyone have a nice weekend.

    Till next time,

    Missy Chow
    xoxo
