Our New Kittens!
Posted by F&S
Yesterday, Martha dashed out to the Hamptons with Uncle Carlos and, of course, took G.K. and us with her. There was very little time to post a new Daily Wag, so we are allowing the new kittens (yes – there are new kittens!) to blog for us today. We're happy to introduce you to Kublai Khan and Ch'in, both of whom are named after Chinese emperors.
Hey, Kublai Khan! Let's explore our new home!
Okay, Ch'in! There sure are lots of places to cozy into up here! What is this room for, anyway?
I think Martha referred to it as her craft room. She said we have to stay up here until we adjust, and then she'll slowly introduce us to the rest of the house. Let's see what this craft room is all about!
There are lots of desks, Ch'in. I see some paint, paper and...look! There are photos of cats on the wall!
You're right, Kublai. These are photos of Martha's other cats. The two on the right are our sisters, Empress Tang and Princess Peony. We have the same mother, you know. The other cat on the left is Bartok.
Bartok is a Himalayan, a breed that was developed by mating a Siamese with a Persian. They have long hair, like us, but their coloring comes from their Siamese side.
That's great, Ch'in, but I'm already moving on in the room. I found a sewing machine over here.
What are we going to do with that? I'm more interested in this wall of thread spools. These look like they will be fun to bat with our paws!
Ch'in, over here! I found some cat stuff! Like this litter box and scoop!
And here's a brush for our fur! Persians are noted for having long, thick coats. We need regular brushings to keep us looking our best.
Oh Ch'in, look at these great water dishes from the Martha Stewart Pets line at PetSmart!
And what's this? Ch'in, did one of the canaries escape?
Oh no, Kublai! Better catch it! We just moved in. We don't want Martha to think we're irresponsible!
Wait a minute, Ch'in...we've been fooled! It's just a feather on a string!
I think that's enough exercise for now, Kublai. Let's not over exert ourselves. We have so much to explore and so much time to do it!
