An Itch to Scratch

Being Martha's pets, Francesca and I not only strive to be educators, but also innovators!  Today, I decided to invent an itch innovation!

Wait a minute...something feels strange...

Uh oh...I feel an overwhelming itch coming on...

Francesca! I just have to scratch this itch, but it's on my back! How am I going to reach it? Wait a minute...I have an idea!

Yes, Francesca! I'm rolling on the gravel to itch my back!

Dogs and cats alike are itch scratching innovators! We can scratch ourselves with just about anything!

Oh yeah, that hit the spot! Francesca, you should try this!

Maybe next time, Sharkey. Martha's about to put lunch on the table and we have more important things to do—like begging for scraps!

  • Hello ladies and GK,
Funny post today. Immediately I thought of Kirby. I bet he could show everyone a few tricks about scratching itchy spots. Hehehe
GK my son, you are looking' good boy.
Well, I just woke up to go to bathroom and I thought I would check out the DW. Now that I saw it and saw my boy again? I can sleep good. Catch everyone in the morning
    Love to all,
    Maddox

  • ..I also roll around in the gravel..it does feel good!..you frenchies are so cute and G.k., you are so handsome...I have nothing planned for the week-end, just serious relaxing..all my dog buddies and people have a good week-end, later, your pal Cora-Belle

  • Oh, Sharkey!
You are soooo funny! Rolling on my back is one of my favorite things to do. I usually try to find something in the grass, though. A dead cicada works great. I get to dig around in the grass, rub my neck on it, roll on it & sometimes I even eat it! Yummm love my cicadas.
Oh, the life of a dog. Absolutely gross sometimes.
    Have a great day everybody
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • Move over door jams, you are no longer needed!

When I have an itch, I'll find a patch of gravel and have at it!

    What a fantastic idea Sharkey.

I can see you utilize what is around you.

But, I'm with Frannie girl, enough scratchin', get to the beggin' for scraps! :)

    Have a super weekend..

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
OK Sharkey, now you’re talking. I roll on my back about two times a day. I usually use one of my towels which is on the floor. Mommy always says that I’m playing possum because I stop and just lay on my back for a long time. When I was a puppy, many years ago, I would sleep on my back. My favorite way of itching is letting Mommy, or Daddy, brush me. They seem to know just where I itch the most. They also know when to stop; I don’t and do damage to myself by pulling out too much hair. But hay, I’m just a dog you know. Have a good weekend all.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hello Ladies & G.K.,
It is great to see you all looking so marvelous and frisky and fit outside with Mama M. That looks so good getting a nice scratch on the gravel. How clever of you Miss Sharkey. I bet the neighbors would call the cops if old Lynn went to their gravel driveway and started rolling on my back. Funny thought huh? Hehehehehehe Working on my cards and crafts over the weekend. Still major hot here. Hope everyone is prepared for the Glue Squad Olympics. Now we have another category, gravel itching. You all are gold medelists in my book. Have a great weekend.
    Hugs & smiles,
    Lynn

  • Uuhhhh Sharkey, that itch looked scratchy-itchy, and on gravel no less! Kitty rolls on her back all the time, she does it on the grass, moss and carpeted steps. I love when she does it, because we are expected to scratch her ever so soft furry tummy....and then I have to use a brush to get the fur on the steps.
Today is beautiful and only in the 80's...real cool ;-)
Got a student coming for art lessons so must run.

    Lynn don't overwork yourself!

Hugs to all for a great weekend,
    delia & Kitty =^. .^=

  • Hi F,S,&GK+ Glue Squad, It's so much fun to see all three of you great friends again on your blog! You 2 girls are so cute and GK is so handsome! How fun to see you scratching your back on the gravel, Sharkey! I'll bet that felt great! Sure hope all 3 of you got some snacks after Martha set out the lunch! Maddox, I am so happy to see you son anytime, too! Rebel, I love to roll around and scratch the grass, too! I try to eat some too but Mom doesn't like me to throw up! Kirby, when I was a baby I used to sleep on my back, too and loved it! Dearest Lynn, we would always protect you no matter what you do! Hope you stay cool! Cora-Belle, how nice of you to give that great information to that lady with the dog that has 2 broken legs! You are so thoughtful! Gail, I like the scratching and the snacking, too! Hope all of you have a great weekend and stay safe and cool! We will be nice and cool here! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Morning Girls, GK & Glue Squad,

Sharkey, what a great way to take care of that itch, especially when you can't reach it with your paw. So clever, just be careful you don't rub too hard on the gravel. Hope you & Frannie made it back in time for some scraps. GK, you are handsome!

I like to have my belly rubbed when I'm on my back and one time, Daddy found my tickle spot, and my leg started to dance, hehe..

Quiet weekend planned, weather today is warm & humid, we sure need some rain, everything looks so dry.

Enjoy the weekend everyone, let the games begin.

Hi Lynn, Mom likes to do crafts too, but doesn't have too much extra time lately to sit down and do it.

    Till next time,
    Missy Chow
    xoxo

  • That's a great idea there Sharkey. I bet with some tweaking you could do something with this idea. Happy Friday to all. Here's to a lovely weekend for all. Zoe I bet your Mom was busy all week. Chloe we miss you! Everyone have a great weekend!

  • ..Back again, I too, like to sleep on my back, i now go into such deep sleeps I scare Lucinda and James..just dreaming about herding critters in my younger days..no chiweenies today, their people are feeling much better..so I am going out and sit in the refreshing mist and wait or a critter to come by..over and out, Cora-Belle,

  • Before it is close out for the weekend I had to tell you all (especially Miss Cora Belle, critter watcher) that we have seen not only the 5 raccoons, but a pair of skunks and a black cat, at night on our camera. All of them are within minutes of each other too. Over and out for the weekend.
    Hugs,
    Lynn

  • Sharkey, that is one of my favorite things to do! My mom said that Chloe, who was her first Frenchie, was an expert at scatching her back itchies. I like to do it in the dirt in the hole my sisters and I dug in the backyard. After I have played with the Water Monster for a while. Mom rolls her eyes and sighs, but she knows that sometimes dogs must be dogs! Miss Lynn, two houses away from us a whole big family of raccoons live up in the gables of a garage. They pop out of a hole in the gutter at night and roam around the neighborhood. It is my job to keep them from coming up on our porch. I think they are kinda creepy, so I am happy to do my job!!
