Touring the Construction Site

Posted by Sharkey

Now that Francesca’s eye is better, I wanted to take her around the farm so she could see some changes going on.  She was sort of out of commission for a few weeks and missed a lot.  Now it’s catch up time!

Sharkey! What's going on here? This is where the gigantic compost piles used to be.

Now it's a full blown construction site! Sharkey, do you know anything about this?

Francesca, you missed a lot with your eyelid sewn shut! Martha is having a new metal storage unit built and this was the only place to put it, where it would be tucked away and out of sight.

The whole process will take a few weeks. They've already graded the site and poured the cement footing and foundation.

Now they're back filling around the foundation with drainage pipes and gravel and will next start working on the floor.

I'm told that the building will arrive in pieces on a flatbed truck for assembly.

Wow, it's amazing to think a whole new building can go up that quickly! But what about all of the compost?

Franny, the compost piles were all moved over there. Don't worry, there is still plenty of compost for all of the plants on the farm!

Good, I would hate to run out of compost! Do you know that some people call it black gold because of all its beneficial qualities in the garden?

I wonder what Martha is going to put in this new storage unit? I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

  • Hello ladies,
Can't sleep again. So I thought I would check in and see what is going on at the DW.
Francesca, I have to tell you that I was very concerned about your eye. But it looks good as new. Your vet did a good job. Take a good look at all the changes that took place while
you were not able to see 100%. Just look at all the beautiful flowers that have bloomed since your button adventure. So much color on the farm right now. You must be so happy to be able to see everything that is going on again. And we the Glue Squad are very very happy with how your eye healed.
Hey, you should auction that button off and whatever money you get for it, use that to buy an endless supply of treats for all the sick animals that go to your vet's office.
Ok, I am going to bed and will check back in the morning
    Love to all,
    Maddox

  • ..so good to see both of you out and about enjoying yourselves...have a great day my fellow glue squaders...Cora-Belle

  • Good Morning F & S

I thought maybe you were having a swimming pool constructed or a cement pond as mom calls it. That is going to be one big storage facility but I'm sure Martha will have it filled in no time.

I had to get an entire body wipe down this morning and faught mom the entire time - I hate grooming. I'm taking my medicine but still scratching mom said another few days and I'm going back to Dr. Keefe. I also heard the word bath this morning so I'm going to go hide I'll check back later.........

Lynn, sorry I forgot to wish Weston a Happy Birthday-glad he had a great time! I think I will celebrate my birthday on Friday, June 8th because I am now 8 years old and my birth was sometime in June! Next year, I will celebrate on June 9th, etc.! Zoe, sure hope your tummy is better-being itchy is awful! Delia, we will send some of our rain to you! • Gee, I thought maybe Martha was building an in-ground pool for the pups to 'dog paddle'! :)

Hmmm..wonder what she might keep in a metal storage shed?

I'm thinking it might be emergency supplies?

    Have a super Wednesday! :)

  • Also been meaning to tell the powers that be, no problems with the website for about 1 1/2 weeks. Things are loooking good. Thanks for all your hard work.
    Hugs,
    Lynn

  • Good to see you both out and about doing your usual rounds. I second what Lynn said. Haven't had any issues in almost two weeks. Good job everyone on staff.

  • Hi Girls,

It nice to see you both out and about. You girls should fight for a nice pool. Thats what I would do :) I am enjoying my baby pool so very much!! Mom came home for lunch and took me for a surprise walk :) I was so excited! She also made me a small burger since she made herself one. Yummy :) I have been good on the mole attacking. Haven't gotten any in a couple days. But I am still trying and digging holes like crazy. (They are behind the trees so mom cant see them LOL) My cousin Ginger (she lives around the corner and I she doesn't blog) ate a baby bunny the other morning. Ate the whole thing except the legs and she brought them into Aunt Marnie AKA Supper Nanny LOL. She called my mom almost crying on the phone. So it's not just me who attacks small rodents. HAHA.
Well off for a nap. That walk made me a bit tired. I hope you all have a great day.

    Chloe XX

  • Chloe here again. Wanted to thank Maddox for the grooming tip. Mom is going to try it.

    Chloe xx

  • Good afternoon Franny, Sharkey,Maddox, Lynn and all the glue squad,
Great to see both you frenchie girls out and about sans cones exploring the farm! franny you look wonderful with your eye all healed up.
Maddox we might stop back tonignt if I am up til 2 a.m. like usual. Mom and I are night owls with her late shift at the animal hospital.
GUESS WHAT- We are on vacation!!! Yep just in time for the college reunion. Mom is packing up stuff so I get to hang out with my gran and granpa. I will try to behave and not beg too much for food.. hehehe.
Zoe why don't you like baths? Chloe, have you caught any moles today? Delia we have plenty of rain here. Missy Chow hope you are having a good day. Lola, hope there is sunshine in Ohio. We laughed about Wonder woman Cora belle bathing in the river! Happy Early Birthday Dudley do Right! for June 8th.
I laughed when mom brought home a local beer named Hurricane Kitty!! High paws to all my friends and a hug for you Lynn, Abby the frenchie pug
P.S. maybe the glue squad should all bark in Dudley's honor on FRIDAY

  • Hi gang,
I am back, just checking in. Yes, I agree. We will have to celebrate on Friday for Dudley's birthday. That will be fun. Friday will be Dudley Day....
As for me not sleeping, I think about things a lot and am always trying to come up with new things to do. For instance, we had a Tribute to Mom's for Mother's Day so I think next Friday we should do the same for the dads and/or male role models in our lives. It is only fair to give them attention as well. What do you think Glue Squad, next Friday for our comments for a Tribute to Dads Day?
    Later,
    Maddox

  • Hi Girls, GK & Glue Squad,

Franny, you have alot of catching up to do, checking out all the things happening at the farm as well as all the flowers blooming. Sharkey, keep an eye out for her so she doesn't venture where she shouldn't be going. Where's GK?

Abby, enjoy your vacation with gran & granpa, bet you will get some "extra" treats. I'm having a good day, I've had two walks so far; enjoying the outside since it has stopped raining and the fresh air is delightful. Maddox, you need to listen to some relaxing music at night so you will fall asleep, how does that sound?

    Enjoy the day everyone.

    Till next time,
    Missy Chow
    xoxo
