My Extraordinary Father, Maddox

Posted by Ghenghis Khan

My father, Maddox, is a real champion, who just won a very special trophy, the President’s Trophy for Breeder of Best of Breed.  His breeder, of course, is Karen Tracy of Liontamer-Pazzazz Chows.  This trophy was first presented in 1982.  You must win three times, in order to keep the trophy and no one, except for Maddox, has ever been able to claim the prize!  CONGRATULATIONS, DAD!

3 Hi son! I wanted to update you on how I've been doing lately!

Since you've been on your hiatus from shows, I thought I'd pick up your slack and attend a few! Here I am in the sink, ready for a bath so I can look my best!

After bathing, Karen gives me a good grooming, which includes light trimming and lots of brushing.

You'll be happy to know that our friend, Jan, showed me and we won! Here we are with the judge, my ribbons, trophies, and prizes!

The two smaller trophies are for Best of Breed and the tall one was the President's Trophy for Breeder of Best of Breed. These honors have to be won 3-times in order to retire and keep the trophy. Guess who gets to keep all three?

  • Hello G.K.,
CONGRATULATIONS to you G.K. on having such a celebrity father. You and the girls and Mama Martha must be having a celebration to end all celebrations.
I can't believe all those trophies!!! Karen is going to have to build you your own home, just for your trophies Maddox. We here at The Glue Squad are so proud of you. My favorite is #8. You seem to love taking photos and getting brushed. Karen and Jan must have the magic touch with brushing and bathing. Oh, I bet you are getting a lot of female fan mail after all your photos are out there. Thanks G.K. for sharing these photos of dear old dad. I'll bet you are your father's son G.K. and will follow in his paw steps. Congratulations!!!!!! I know Basil, Tasha, Sahara, Kit Bang, Herman the White Cat and all their buddies were giving you a standing ovation Maddox.
    Hugs and smiles,
    Lynn

  • ..All I can say is wow!..you are right G.K., your father, Maddox is extraordinary.. I am so proud to be part of the glue squad and to be able to chat with him..thank you Maddox for taking time to share your life with us..it makes this old farm/ranch dog feel special to have friend like you...love, Cora-Belle

  • Good morning son,
I had a great time back in the show ring. I think it has been close to a year since I was shown but it all comes back, just like riding a bike or in your case GK, riding the Kawasaki. hehehehehe
Cora-Belle, I feel special to know you. As I said before, we all have different things in life that we enjoy. Mine is that I like to be a show dog when I can. You are great at keeping critters in line at your ranch and that is a very important thing that I know you enjoy too. Zoe, she is the Queen of the TP shredding, although now she has moved on to dryer sheets. Chloe loves playing with moles. I could go on and on but you see what I mean. We all do different things that make us happy and that is what counts and that is what makes this Glue Squad so great. If we all did the same thing, it would be boring but we are all unique and that makes us all very special to one another. I must say, when I won that Chow Specialty for the third consecutive time I had a bit of the swollen head syndrome going on, ah ha. Yup, I did. Jan, my terrific handler and Gerry, my loving co owner probably did too. I know Karen was on Cloud 9.
Well, I am anxious to hear from everyone to see what they did this past weekend and if anyone got into trouble. I know I shouldn't hope anyone does bad stuff but it makes me laugh and laugh.
I will check later on today. And Lynn, thak you for all the nice stuff you said. And if I got a standing ovation from our friends who are at the bridge, I am sure my little buddy Basil, the Warrior Prince arranged it. Thank you little buddy.
And GK, thank you for calling me extraordinary. Right back at you son.
    Love to all,
    Maddox, proud father of GK

  • Good Morning GK

All I can say is WOW!!! You have one impressive pop - you rock Maddox !!

I have to give you Chow's credit I could never take all that grooming. Don't you get tired of being brushed and trimmed not to mention the darn nails - YUK I hate all that stuff. I give the groomer a hard enough time with a routine bath hell I'd be dehydrated from peeing on everyone so much with all that grooming.

I have to go see Dr. Keefe today mom is calling this morning. I've been scratching my belly again and it's all red.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Any health updates on F & S?

    Zoe

  • Holy makarel there, Maddox!
How super can a dog get? You always look so happy. Are you diggin' on the tea set or is that for Karen? LOL
As I said on Friday, I was expecting a quiet weekend and that's how it was. Didn't go anywhere or do anything. I laid in the grass and watched the ducklings go by. For some reason, I'm not into chasing them and that makes Mimi happy.
I'll check in on the rest of you guys/gals later.
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • Hi F,S,&GK+Glue Squad, GK, this was a terrific blog you shared today about your great Dad Maddox! I've looked at these photos over and over and love them all! You have the best Dad in the world and not only are you proud of him but he is proud of you!! Can't wait to see you at a Dog Show again. also! You look great and hope you are feeling a lot better and hope F&S are doing better, too!!! Lynn, I don't know how we could ever get along without you-you are a great friend who shares awesome comments! Professor Maddox, you are one of the greatest chows I have ever known and congrats for your neat trophys-you sure deserved them! Cora-Belle, I'm so proud of you, too! Hope you have fun at QFC with chicken and maple bars and sure hope Lucinda is doing better after knee problem! Zoe, sure hope you don't get in trouble again and hope your tummy is OK, must be terrible to be itchy! Rebel, how great that you make Mimi so happy! We don't have any ducks in our yard and I'm not sure if I would chase them either! Will check in on everyone else later. Hope you all have another great day and stay safe! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Boy GK your daddy Maddox still win in those shows. If I were him, I would retire and take it easy for a while. If he does get a “swollen” head it won’t show. That’s what is good about being a Chow; all that hair hides things like that. I’ve never had a swollen head before. Opps, I think my nose just grew a little. Well maybe just one time. There the nose is growing again. OK, I’ve had a swollen head many times. Good, now back to normal. Daddy is right, always tell the truth. I don’t want to look like an elephant. Sorry elephants, I didn’t mean that long noses were not a good thing. I had better stop while I’m ahead.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Good Morning G.K., Gorgeous Maddox,
WOW, how exciting to see your wonderful pictures of your handsome father G.K. Mom was wondering just this weekend what he looked like and now we can see him with all the trophies! We are proud to know you both and CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I am sure Prince Basil led the rainbow bridge crew in a salute for you. Herman led the cat chirping group along with the dogs barking.
Cora belle, I hope you had a great time beach combing! Did you find any shells? Did the chiweenies leave you any cookies? Zoe, we hope your belly feels better soon. Chloe, hope you enjoyed your new pool. Rebel, we are happy you are letting the ducklings get bigger before chasing them. Lynn, my grandma planted sunflower plants yesterday in memory of Prince Basil and Herman. We thought about you all weekend.
I got a bath Saturday night and look very blonde and clean again. Napping before going to work with mom. Maddox, we are proud to be glue squad members!
Love and hugs to all- Abby the frenchie pug

  • Hello GK and the rest of the Glue Squad,
I hope everyone had a great weekend. GK, you look so smart sitting in front of your computer. And I might add so handsome also
I just want to thank you for doing a blog on your dad Maddox today. That was quite an accomplishment on his part and I am so very very proud of him as I am of you too. Thank you to all who have commented and sent me emails as well. That means a lot to me. You are all so supportive and I for one truly appreciate every one of you
    Again, thank you
    Karen

  • Wow Maddox wow, congratulations once again on your super success!!! I'm very impressed that you can come out of retirement and step right into victory again. G.K. you look so happy and proud of your indeed extraordinary father.

Zoe be a good girl at the Dr.'s today so your tummy can get well quick. So many fun activities from the Glue Squad: Beach combing, mole digging, ducky watching, sunflower planting, pretending to be an elephant, camping out, the best Canadian Mountie pup in the land, and of coure TP chewing. Ahh, the wild and crazy ways of the Glue Squad!

  • WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!!

BIG CONGRATULATIONS, MADDOX!! And to Karen and Jan too!

G.K. you must be so very proud to have such an accomplished Dad!!! My Mom says that she is 100% sure that you will be right up there with him in no time flat!!

This is such wonderful news for a Monday morning, thank you for sharing it with us!!

    Hugs,
    Finnegan

  • Way to go Maddox!! I see where GK get his good looks from :) I don't think I could do all that grooming all the time. Mom is driving me crazy now cause I am shedding so much. Mom read in books that Huskies have "blow outs" twice a year, and it sure is true. I didn't realize I had so much fur. It keeps coming out and coming out. LOL I had a great weekend. Played outside alot. Missed my walk though for two days. Mom pulled her back out. But she did take me for one last night. We went a tad bit slower but it was nice to get out. You would think those nasty moles would stay away since I have been getting so many but they keep coming and coming. Got another one the other day. Oh, and I ran right through the sliding door going out to the deck. Aunt Denise came over one night and I got so excited I ran right through the screen. Dad was not happy at all since it took him almost a hour and a half to get it on right LOL Oh well......
Well, I hope everyone has a great day... again congrats GK for having such a great dad. Oh, and how are the girls doing???? I hope well.

    Chloe xx

  • Holy Cow! Or should I say Holy Chow! :)

Maddox is very dapper looking when all fluffed up!

    Those trophies are certainly spectacular!

How proud you must be of your pop, GK! :)

  • Hello Ghenghis,
I don't comment often but I read the DW on a regular basis
I had to say something today though. Your dad makes my heart smile. He is such a good boy. I also want to say that when you were here visiting with us you were also a very well behaved young man and you are welcome here anytime.
Your father has a natural talent for showing and you have that also. You are both the cream of the crop.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your well wishes when I was in the hospital. I am making a slow but steady recover and will be good as new sooner than later, I hope.
    Mammy Jean

  • Congratulations Maddox, you are certainly a winner and so proud to show us your trophies; and GK, you are definitely a winner yourself. You must feel very proud of your dad. Congrats to Karen & Jan, so proud and very supportive all the time.

Greetings to the Glue Squad & Lynn, sounds like everyone has been very busy over the past few days. We have had a few days of rain and outside time has been limited so I've had to find my own fun or should I say trouble. Yes, trouble found me and Mom & Dad weren't overly excited about it. I tried to repot a couple Mom's indoor plants, but she wasn't too pleased to find it. I think the plants have moved to a higher level and out of my reach. Then there's Dad, I attempted to show affection only to get a little rougher than normal; and he got a bit upset when he saw my "smile". :( But I haven't been tearing too much tp/or pt-Mom doesn't use dryer sheets, so I won't be tearing them. Guess that's good, right??

    Till next time,
    Missy Chow
    xoxo

  • Hi GK

  • ..Back again..rather cold outside..wind blowing..so I am curtailing doing anything the rest of the day..though there is a small coyote sulking around out in the yard..I may have to fire some barks off at it..a matter of fact I will bark for all of you, my glue squad buddies..that should do the trick..later, Cora-Belle

  • WOW Maddox what a handsome Chow you are!!! Congratulations for a great show, and as well as Jan showing you...but your mamma Karen sure can breed gorgeous Chows, look at GK, beautiful just like his dad. :-)
