The Lemonade Stand

Posted by Francesca

Yes, Sharkey and I are still recovering and G.K. is feeling so much better from the Lyme disease.  Sharkey’s dewclaw was healing nicely, but she went ahead and snagged another nail, which needed to be bandaged, as well.  Cone collar for her again!  Many of you commented why I was wearing a leash and the reason is so that I won’t run off and bump my eye.  It’s still sewn shut for another week or so.  We haven’t been able to take any new photos because it’s been raining a lot and it’s hard to get around.  However, Sharkey and I found these in our archive and thought we’d share.

While I'm still recovering from my eye surgury, let me tell you about some new friends that Sharkey, G.K., and I met a few weeks ago before all of our troubles began.

While riding with Uncle Carlos, we heard someone shouting through a megaphone and Carlos pulled over to see what all the commotion was about.

I don't know...what's in it? It looks like pink lemonade...is it made with pink lemons?

You can put down the megaphone, buddy! I'm right here next to you! I just want to know a bit more about the lemonade before I buy some! Is it made with organic ingredients?

Hmmm, well it's good to know you. I suppose that any friend of Carlos is a friend of ours! And yes, I will take a cup of your lemonade! Thank you!

  • Hello F & S and GK,
I am so glad you did an update on the three of you. We worry about any of our Glue Squad members that is not up to par health wise. You should only have a couple more weeks of wearing the cone Francesca. I hope when they take your buttom off that your eye is good as new. Sharkey, another nail? I think you should pick out some of those boots in all different colors and wear them all the time. You would look very fashionable and they would save on your nails getting snagged. Orthopedic boots for dogs. hehehehehe And GK, I am so glad you are much better. Before too long, the three of you will be chasing squirrels, helping in the garden, doing what you like to do. And we don't mind getting posts that are not current. We love whatever you post and we learn new stuff every day. We saw one of the streets that is near to where Uncle Carlos lives and it looks like a very nice neighborhood so we know that Uncle Carlos is in a good place.
Well, guess what, rain again. I will check out the tv. HEY, there is a show coming on at the end of the month about some dog walker and you see all these dogs he is walking. That could have been us, the Glue Squad. What the heck, Hollywood never notified us of a new show. Not nice Mr. Director.
Oh well, we still have the half time at the Super Bowl. hehehehehe
    Love to all,
    Maddox

  • Good morning!
It's great to know you are all getting well!
That lemonade looks good, I think. Do you really like lemonade? The children are so cute, I know they will remember this always.
Sunny and warm at my house and nothing going on.
    Til tomorrow!
    Your pal,
    Rebel

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I don’t do lemonade at all. I don’t even like the smell of it. There I’ve said that, but if you like it; good for you. Chows are picky eaters you know. Just change my food a little and I won’t eat it. I’ve been really bad these past few days. I won’t eat my dinner until I have my spoon full of ice cream. Desert first is what I have been wanting. I guess that the 90 degrees outside is what’s going on with me. Must cool down before eating my food. Water doesn’t seem to do the trick even if Mommy puts ice in it. Another hot and dry day ahead. Keep cool all.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Geepers that annoying 404 error message is pesty this morning!!!
How sweet that you guys had stopped at the kids Lemonade stand...cute kids!

Hope all of you pups will get over whatever ails you...thanks for the update!

  • Hello Ladies & G.K.,
I'm with Maddox in that it always warms my heart to see photos of you, even if they aren't so current. That Uncle Carlos is the best taking you to his neighborhood to visit with those nice kids. Franny I am glad you finally gave in and had some lemonade. You are so petite as it is, you cannot afford to lose weight during your recovering. Poor Sharkey, we are going to have to have a manicure artist tour with you wherever you go, like Mama Martha and her makeup artist on t.v. That way you can have your own person attending to your nails and dewclaw. I pray you all keep recovering. Did anyone see the dog act on America's Got Talent last night? They were all from rescues. Hooray!! I am off today preparing for our camping this weekend. Have a good one and stay out of trouble guys and gals, and Abby and Tracie, I am thinking of you often and sending love and hugs.
    Hugs and smiles,
    Lynn

  • Hi F,S,&GK+Glue Squad, Gosh, this was a lovely blog showing all three of you as healthy as can be! Franny, you kind of blended in with the color of Carlos' car! Sharkey, you sure found good friends, didn't you?! And GK, handsome as usual-so glad you are doing better! Maddox, I am a pretty, calm fellow now that I am almost 8 years old and I behave pretty well! When I was 11 months old and moved in with Mom and Cricket, I was a wild, little fellow who didn't know how to behave and sweet Cricket straightened me out! I miss her so much, but I follow Mom everywhere and am her perfect little fellow! Kirby, sure wish you could be here where I live because it's been very cool and wet all week and only slowly drying out and warming up a little! Sure hope all of you are having a great day and will check in again later! Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Hello Francesca, Sharkey, G.K., Lynn, Maddox, Dudley and all the glue squad,
What a nice lemonade stand story. Sharkey you were brave to be held by a new friend. That makes me nervous although I love children and posing for photographs with them at the park. I tilt my head and just vogue for the camera like the madonna song.
Lynn, we hope you bring a good tent camping and lots of sunscreen this weekend. Congrats to Ayumi and her five baby shiba puppies. Kirby, I am so jealous of your ice cream treats. Kitty are you shedding tons of hair like James dean the persian cat upstairs? Maddox, hope you are keeping cool and watching the Alaskan crab boat show. It looks cold and mom cuddles with me when we watch it.
Things are getting back to the usual routine now with Herman's picture on the back porch. It will just take time. Wonder how Cora Belle, Zoe, and Chloe are today? I am napping before bark duty at the animal hospital. Love and hugs to Lynn and all- Abby the frenchie pug

  • Hey Dudley, I didn't know you were a wild child!! You know what---???? Basil was a wild and crazy guy too in his youth!! Thanks for bringing that to mind for me. He was a Guido in his day for sure. Have a good one all. I am still getting that pestie Error 404 message. At least in between I can hear from you all.
    Hugs & smiles,
    Lynn

  • Honest to Pete, what is happening to my love bugs! Sharkey has another injury and is now wearing a cone!

I smell a new Conehead movie on the horizon! Teasing! :)

Glad you were able to get a cool cup of lemonade. Did you have your coin purse handy or did Uncle C treat! :)

I agree, it is always nice making new friends!

    Love to everyone...
    gail

  • Pretty soon you kids will be back to great health again just in time for the summer. How's MommyM handling the three of you being under the weather like this all at the same time? Hope all is going well with the Glue Squad DWers. Crazy busy day today!

  • ..yo frenchies, the 404 error came up..could not view the pictures..maybe tomarrow..Kirby, my kind of dogger..ice cream before dinner..good for you..personally like a handful of frozen peas to munch on..good idea to be on the leash, no bumping!..I usually go out on my leash so I don't fall in the river or chase a naughty coon over the bank or some other cattle dog move...though, the little coyote that bugs around piques my interest..Ivy, the wonder dog used to hate yodel dogs..they cornered her one time and she fought her way out..life of a farm/ranch dog!..Maddox, I, too, am disgusted that Hollywood didn't contact the glue Squad for a show...their loss!..Oh, guess what...Lucinda ex-husband is coming to visit today..she hasn't seen him in 40 years and he is bringing Ted Barker with him..wonder what kind of dogger that is..I know for sure it is a big city dogger...so I will have to show him the ropes here..like the finer points of spying on the coons, otters and beavers..so I better eat a couple Warrior Prince cookies (suppose I'll have to give him a couple)..and help Lucinda fix some lunch..later, Cora-Belle p.s. I will report back later on Ted Barker and how he liked the farm/ranch..hope he brings a raincoat!

  • Hi again,
Cora-Belle, you have peaked my interest. Lucinda's ex who she has not seen for 40 years is visiting. Wow!!! I wonder how Lucinda feels about that. I wonder how James feels about that. I wonder why he is visiting. Very interesting. But, I only know James, not the ex husband and I pick James. He is a very caring person. Lucinda is with the right guy now. And tell James that if the ex tries to put the moves on Lucinda, the Glue Squad will squash him like a bug. Our loyalty is to James. Of course, for us to squash the guy, James would have to get us transportation to your house but once we all get there, that guy is toast.
Dudley, thank you for the info on yourself. I was just curious because I never saw you mention that you were ever bad or wild or anything like that. You are a respectable little guy. Kool. Kirby, ice cream, I envy you but not the heat you have right now. Enjoy the ice cream buddy.
Lynn, have fun on your weekend trip. Karen is fuming. She dropped her cell phone in a bowl of water for one of the dogs and now it is not working. She had close to 7,000 pictures on that phone. What a shame.
Well, I will hook up with all you maniacs again tomorrow. I hope Zoe had some good tricks to play on SN. Chloe, where are you? Fill us in on her activites and yours as well.
    Good night all,
    Maddox
