Our Holiday Greeting Card

Posted by Sharkey

I’ve been seeing all of the holiday cards arriving in the mail every day and I got to thinking that Francesca and I should make a holiday card of our own.  I took a look up in the craft room and realized that all the materials we would need are there.  It really doesn’t take much to make a greeting card.  Hallmark, watch out!

What do you think, Francesca?

Great, Sharkey! And now we'll print it out. Doesn't it look nice on this glossy paper?

I'll use this Martha Stewart Crafts paper cutter to cut out the photo. Franny, go find some card stock!

It's looking good, Francesca! But is there anything else we can do to make it a bit more festive?

Did you know that sending holiday cards is somewhat of a recent practice? The first card was designed by J.C. Horsly in 1843! They caught on in England because, at the time, it only cost a penny to mail them!

Wow, doesn't it look great? Come on, Sharkey! Let's run and give this to Martha! She'll be so proud of her little Frenchies!

  • Hello Ladies,
I looooove your holiday card!!! I just wish I had one in my hot little paws. Yesterday Dad had the fire going all day, and boy was it nice. Mom went to tea, and Dad and I got to pal some more. It is snowing and looking a lot like Christmas. Only five days to go. I'm so excited. Cora Belle what did the doctor decide was going on with you? Do you have to take medicine all the time like me? Have a grea day all.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • nice card, frenchies..you are so crafty!..crab season opened Dec. 15..so James got some whole cooks and crab salad and crab cocktails were on their menu..can't beat fresh crab...Dudley, you probably know about fresh crab being a Puget Sound doggie..James used to crab off the coast and king crabbed in the Bering sea in the 70's and 80's..orginal deadliest catch...he has some wild tales to tell..I am feeling better every day and getting excited about the holidays...I better get back in bed..later, cora-belle the cattle dog

  • Hi ladies,
What a great Christmas card for Mama Martha. The snowflake punch really made a great finishing touch.
I'm up eaarly 'cause I had to go outside. Boy, was Mimi surprised when I scratched on her side of the bed. Boy, was I surprised when I heard the rain drops. YUCK! Oh well, a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do...
Hey Cora Belle, I think your sweater sounds super. Don't listen to the other dogs. They're just jealous.
    Have a great day all..
    your pal, Rebel

  • Good Morning F & S

Martha must be so proud of her crafty frenchies - very nice card.

Only 5 days till Christmas I'm so excited!! We host Christmas Eve dinner at our house which is great, little kids dropping food I can taste it now :) Mom is busy working on her menu and made a Honey Do List for dad. Not sure why it's called a Honey Do List but dad is never happy when that little note is placed next to his newspaper in the morning.

I was helping mom wrap some gifts last night but I don't think she appreciated my efforts. I was walking on the wrapping paper and made lots of little holes with my nails. I told her it was my special touch to chill out no one would notice.

Hey Cora Belle you listen to your doctor and wear your coat. Never mind what others think your health is what's important. We don't want you getting sick again!!

  • Good morning girls,
That was a very nice card you made for Martha. You didn't have your brother GK on it so maybe you should show him how to make one for her also. And then get the donks to make one, each of the horses, the chickens, etc. You girls will be busy till Christmas.
Cora-Belle, don't even give it any thought of what the other cattle dogs are saying. You are a trend setter with your critter sweater and they are all just jealous. Tou should have Lucinda and James make several for you in different colors and styles. That would be very fashionable. You could be on Project Dog Runway.
Well Glue Squad, I guess everyone is trying to be real good this week so Santa brings real special gifts. My Christmas wish is that you all get what you asked for this year.
    Have a fun day,
    Maddox

  • What an excellent card Sharkey, both of you look adorable in those red sweaters.
Cora Belle you must rest to get better...stay warm!

Everyone here on The Daily Wag, stay well and enjoy this time of the Season... :-)

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Christmas is only five days away? I had better be on my best behavior until then. Wouldn’t want Santa to see me being naughty. When we have people over for lunch or dinner, I just hate it when Daddy says, “Kirby doesn’t eat from the table; please don’t feed him and start something.” I have my own dish and all my food goes in there. I keep saying, “It’s Christmas; change things for the holidays.” That doesn’t work so I think I will try to make one of those pretty cards like you two made.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., WOW! You girls get more talented and creative everyday and I love seeing the projects that you make!! First of all you both look great in todays outfits and even more beautiful in those Martha PetSmarts outfits!! That card you made for Martha is superb and I'm sure she loved it very much! You are tremendous Frenchies! Now let's see what handsome GK can make for Martha! Love reading everybody comments and you all sound happy and great! Cora-Belle, I am aware of delicious crab and some of our friends bring us some occasionally-yummy! So glad you are feeling better-my prayers continue! Hope everyone has a great day again today! Love Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Gorgeous cards ladies!!!!! Maybe G.K. can do one as well.

Cora-Belle, Cattle Dog Fashionista that would be you. Work that critter runway, the others are just jealous.
