Clive, Rufus, and Billy as Seen on TV

Posted by F&S

We, Frenchies, wanted to catch Martha’s TV show the other day, so we turned it on in the kitchen.  Much to our amazement, we saw three reindeer enter the set, pulling a big gift sled!  But, upon further inspection, we realized they weren’t reindeer at all.

Francesca, where did Martha find reindeer to the pull her gift sleigh on the show? Wait, those aren't reindeer!

Why, that's Betsy with the donks, Billy, Clive, and Rufus! The donkeys are wearing reindeer antlers and Betsy has on a Santa hat! That's too funny!!!

Why do you suppose they got to go to the show and why we got left at home?

Come to think of it, Francesca, I didn't see the donkeys in their paddock when we made the rounds this morning. I was looking for them so I could get in a good bark or two.

That's it, Sharkey! They didn't invite us because they knew we would bark like crazy! Let's check out the computer to see if Martha uploaded any photos of the donks visit to the TV studio yet. I'll just log in.

Ah-ha!!! There they are in Martha's office! Isn't it weird to see them standing inside like that?

And now Rufus is getting a little hair and makeup! Look! Even Gyurme went along!

Producer Barbara Fight looks like she really loves Clive and it looks like he's digging it, too.

They certainly are getting a lot of attention, but it's not like you see donkeys at TV every day.

What if they have to....you know what? That would be a big mess to clean! That is carpeting, after all!

And now they get to pose with Martha. I hope they don't step on her toes.

She really loves the donkeys, just as she loves all of her animals.

  • The donks were loose in the city of New York. I bet they had a blast. And they looked so well behaved on the show too. I bet the audience really enjoyed seeing them. Don't begrudge the donks for being on the show girls, you two get your fair share of tv time. That must have been quite a job to get them ready and take them into the city. I wonder how long it took them to learn their script. hehehehe
Well, I am going back to bed. I just got up to check things out and make sure everyone is safe so now I can go back to bed.
Maybe I will come back on in the morning.
    Take care,
    Maddox

  • They are so fluffy and adorable! Did they have to ride an elevator? ;-)

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I saw them on the show the other day. Mommy Martha said that they weren’t being good donkeys because they didn’t face the audience. Now stop and think about it. If you were riding in the slay, that’s the part of the donkey you would be looking at. They were just trying to help out with reality. After all, reality television is the thing now days. I’m with Maddox; I’m going back to bed. Rain is forecast for today.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Mornin'
Mimi & I saw the donks the other day, too. I wondered about a possible oopsy myself. Hey, Candylei, you brought up a good point about the elevator. was it all 3 at once or 1 at at time? hmmmmm. Like Maddox and Kirby, it's cloudy here and cold, there's a pile of laundry on the bathroom floor that looks inviting.....Have a good nap time all.

  • Hello Ladies,
Yes, as I said yesterday, we saw the donkeys on Monday, very nice. They were very well behaved, and it must have been a real job to take them into the city. I bet they had to ride in a freight elevator to get to the show. It was not a good day for me yesterday. Zoe would be proud, but Dad was not laughing. I told you yesterday how cold it was and I just didn't want to go out and pee after the first episode of pupscicle paws, so I just happened to pee in the front room. No one saw me, so I thought I was safe, but then Dad stepped into the puddle with his socks on. Oh boy, those were not choice words. I live in Lakewood, Colorado, just outside Denver, so we aren't even in the mountains. Those mountains are for the webbed footed kind of dogs. Dad didn't stay mad too long. Geez, I don't have much fur or webbed feet. What can you expect? Today it is 16 degrees as I write and hopefully I won't have the need to pee inside today. It just isn't fun any way you look at it. Mom is sure enjoying this week on the Martha Show. What with all the Christmas decorations and crafts on the show. Back to my laying on the couch, under blankets, in front of the fire.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • I saw MommyM's gift giveaway on online and the donks were so sweet and well behaved. It was funny though how all three of them turned their ahem...backside to the camera and MommyM was pleading with Joey and Betsy to get them turned front side. I've noticed that all of you except the cats love to 'moon' the audience.

Kirby Bear I hope your hot spots are cooling down so the 'Cone of Shame' can go away. Basil, you should tell Dad that it was Guido who left the puddle behind. Cora-bell, take it easy getting around so you don't bump in to too many things.

  • what cool little mini-donkeys...thanks for the photos since i missed the show...hey, Basil, not your fault..you need some dog booties to keep your toes warm..tell your dad we're sure sometime in his life he peed on the floor and somebody stepped in it...Kirby, hope your hot spots are healing..my big sister used to get them..they can be miserable, her name was Ivy, and she was the best border collie in the world..I miss her still...finally the ground has thawed..saw a grouse in one the holly trees this a.m., took that as a good oman of some sort..oh I hear Lucinda, something about snacks...gotta go...later, Cora-Belle

  • Three cheers for the donks! I watched that episode and was tickled pink!

They did trick me for a minute, I honestly thought Santa's reindeer had invaded Martha's TV Show!

    Silly donks!

  • Hi Girl Friends &G.K., Gosh, I thought I was never going to see your website or comment today because Mom's computer quit working and we were both very frustrated! Thank goodness it finally got fixed some how! I also loved seeing the donkeys on Martha's show disguised as reindeer! They really looked cute and were very well behaved! How nice that Betsy and Gyurme took such good care of them doing a new event! I love the photos you shared of the donkeys at Martha's studio! Martha sure does love all of you animals and I love how she shows some of you on TV! It's very cold here and terribly foggy and I mostly love to stay inside in front of out woodstove! Hope all of you stay warm, safe, and happy all day! Love Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+
