You’re probably all wondering about the results of my debut in the world of show dogs.  I must tell you that being in a show is a very exciting thing.  It was great to be with Karen and Jan and I think I’m really hooked on show business!

Wow, that hydrosurge really works wonders! It pumps water and shampoo through a hose to get all the way through my thick fur and to my skin.

We've arrived at the show, Jan! There are so many dogs here, of all different breeds, not just chows!

  • Well, well, well GK,
I am so proud of you. You won both days at the dog show. You, my son, are a force to be reckoned with, a chip off the old block I tell ya. Waa Huu!!!!
It is not the same around here with you gone but I know you have to do your chores at the farm and they all missed you while you were here. Karen said the girls were very happy to see you and I bet Martha was too. Jan said she really enjoyed showing you, it reminded her of when she showed me. You touched a lot of hearts in the short time you were here, Yup, you got it. You are truly hot stuff, just like me. hehehehehehe
Congratulations on your fantastic wins this weekend son and may you have many more.
    Love you always,
    Your dad,
    Maddox

  • Congrat's G.K.!!!!! Winner at your first show great job!

Ok enough with the Chow thing F & S tell me the truth is G.K's head 3 times larger? Did I ever tell you I won a ribbon at the local elementary school for best trick? Since I won't do any tricks and I hardly ever listen when on a leash Mom told the kids that my trick was that I can roll my tongue ;) Silly kids thought I was special they didn't know that all Frenchie's can roll their tongues when they pant.

I'm not allowed on the computer long today I got a time out this morning. I started a fight with the Lab's at 5 am Mom was not a happy camper. She is leaving for work early then sneaking out to play golf at 10 with her friends. Oh well I think I'll just relax on the deck. Maybe Dad will bring out a cushion for me so I can catch some rays :)

  • Hello G.K. & Ladies,
A champion hey!!!! I knew it all along, whether they gave you ribbons or not. I am proud of you G.K.---you didn't get arrested again!!! Hehehehehe. Now it is time for you to get back to the real world and help the girls. They have been carrying your weight while you were at the shows. Be a nice little brother and let them have a spa day and you handle the farm. And for you Zoe, I know all about this starting trouble stuff, first hand. Maybe it is a Frenchie thing, but my nickname is Guiedo. Since you are from Jersey, maybe we need to come up with a Jersey girl type Guiedo name for you. Have a great day all.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Well GK you proved one thing this weekend, all Chows are winners. Now I think my head is getting bigger. OK I know that all pets are winners no matter what kind they are. I have one friend who has a snake as a pet. I don’t know why, but she does have a snake. Congratulations GK on the ribbons and for being a winner. Well I’ll be leaving tomorrow and will be back in two weeks. Should be able to catch you a few days so watch for me. Zoe, so sorry about your time out. You have to learn to control yourself.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hey G.K.!
What a pretty collection of ribbons! Major congratulations big boy. You know, we would have still loved you even if you didn't win a single ribbon...
More construction at the house today, more hammering. I'll be in a closet upstairs.
    great day to all........Rebel

  • Hi GK, Trinity here. It was lonely this morning without you to play with but I am glad for you that you are back with Martha snd your sisters. I have the other chows to play with till you come again. You were awesome this weekend. Karen said she was so impressed with you, especially the second day. This was all new to you and to go in there and win like you did was exceptional.
I feel the urge to play so I I will go pull on Ransom's tail. He is my brother. I like to pull his tail, then he plays with me. See you big guy.
Love to you and your sisters,
    Trinity

  • Wow G.K. Wow congratulations!!!! That's pretty impressive of you winning so much on your first dog show no less. It won't be long now before you receive your official 'Champion' title.

Photo #2 screams 'Spa Treatment' all the way around. You look like you're really strutting your stuff in photo #11. Franny and Sharkey you two must be so proud but can G.K.'s head fit through the door anymore? Zoe, picking fights at 5am? You are such a little pistol!

  • There are so many word that I could use to describe how I felt about what you accomplished this past weekend in the show ring. Fantastic, wonderful, superb, excellent, ect..... You learn so quick. I was amazed, your so much like your father in that way. I am very excited to show you again. Keep working on you down and back in between your chores on the farm. Remember the key word is focus.
    See you soon,
    Jan

  • Ahhhhhh G.K. it was very special getting to watch your first show. Meeting you was a joy! Jan and Karen did a beautiful job and were all smiles ring side!! Truly a special weekend and the team couldn't be a better fit! Hugs to you G.K. and crew!! CONGRATS AGAIN!!

  • GK,
It's your dad again. As you can see by the time I sent my first post to you, it was in the middle of the night. I knew you did so well at the show but I didn't want to say anything on the blog until you posted it yourself. I wanted you to have that thrill. So, now that you did and I am more awake than I was at 3am, I want to say a few things.
Kirby, have a great vacation. Zoe, my little friend, maybe you should get yourself an agent and write a book about your time out episodes and all of your adventures. I think it would be a best seller.
I would also like to thank everyone who has been behind GK in his show career endeavor. That means a lot to me and his mother, Eden. Speaking of Eden, I knew it was your birthday GK, but I wanted to let your mother wish you a Happy Birthday first. After all, she put a lot of work into you in the beginning when you were a baby. With that being said, I want to say that I hope you have a grand birthday son. I hope youi get lots of treats and toys and get to do whatever you want to, well, except to run away looking for those hot chicks in your neighborhood cause if you do that again, you will end up in a time out and we don't want that to happen.
Love ya, enjoy your special day,
    Dad Maddox

  • Hi GK,
I was out in the yard today and it was lonely out there all by myself. You were a great help to me when you were here. I guess I will have to carry on by myself with the yard chores until you come back for another visit.
Congratulations on your great wins this past weekend. I knew you could do it. You have what it takes to be a great show dog. Also, Karen told me you are two years old today so Happy 2nd Birthday Big Guy. May all your dreams come true today GK.
    Love to you,
    Jean

  • ..way to go G.K...did you notice any cattledogs sneaking around the outskirts of the show?..Kirby have fun on your trip..bark at everything for me..Zoe, good for you getting the labs straightened around..Guiedo, that is a cool nick name..James calls me goonie-bear, which is not cool...Delia, glad Kitty is home, she was probably off on a secret mission of some sort... .Rebel, get out of the closet and keep an eye on those workers, give them a growl every now and then..Maddox and Dudley I will give all the outdoor critters a bark for you..I am out here, cora-belle the cattledog

  • Hi little buddy, GK,
I was so proud of you this past weekend. The first day you sat in the ring sometimes but did you learn quick, wow!!! The second day you looked like a seasoned show dog. I was impressed beyond belief. You did soooooooooooooo good. Bravo. I enjoyed having you visit with us too. Martha did an excellent job of socializing you.
Maddox, who are you kidding about letting his mother post about his birthday first? You know when your birthday is, period. You know you get all kinds of goodies on that day and that is all you know about birthdays. You are a con artist, a cute one, but none the less, you are one. GK, I know you enjoyed showing and I hope Martha was extremely happy with what you did in the ring.
    Your friend,
    Karen
PS - Happy Happy Birthday GK

  • Hey handsome,

Again, I have to tell u how proud I am of you on your show debut. We have something in common!! I got a major on my second show too. It has gotten better since Karen taught my mom to Glide,

You looked beautiful in that ring. You moved around that ring like a pro, regal, dignified, magnificent and focused!!!! You reminded so much of your dad.

I must say I am a little jealous.... that is my Jannie too. I love her too!!

    Love ya GK,

    Your girl Jerz the sharpei

  • GK,

Pat and I are so proud of you!! What an accomplishment on your first show weekend.. We expected nothing less w/ your great genes and a superb handler. Dude this is just the beginning I am sure they are all talking about how wonderful you are. The word is out and it travels fast in the dog world. Hold your head hi w/ confidence and know you got what it takes. Remember you two are the dyanamic duo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sure Martha had some special treat for you.

    Kisses,
    Dawn and Pat

  • Congratulations big guy. You did a fine job and I can see that everyone is very proud of you. Me too and I hope you win many more ribbons! Hugs!

  • Dear Martha looking at your wonderful chows brought tears to my eyes.My chow passed away at the sge of 15plus years she would have been 16 this mth, It broke my heartwhen she passed on oct 22 2011. You are very lucky to have such wonderful pets. I miss my girl so much. Congratulations to the ribbon winner

  • Had the pleasure to watch G K and Jan at the Syracuse shows and this chow is a natural. There was some great competition but this guy shined. One would have thought that he and his handler had been working together for years. Perfect team. Congratulations G K and Jan.
